Spar Session

It's already been six years ever since he went back in time.

Just the whole idea of being able to relive his life was insane, yet Boruto embraced it and didn't waste his chance.

Back then, he was already considered a genius from young, he was even recognized by Kakashi that he was a Chunin or even Jounin level ninja at the age of 12 just with his wit and talent yet... he never tried to train because he found it boring.

Some people say, that talent triumphs hard work. Others say that if you train hard enough, you will be equal if not stronger than a genius.

Now...What would happen, if a genius, started taking his training seriously? He would become a monster.

Yes, Boruto knew it himself, If he trained himself hard enough from young, he would be able to defeat Isshiki. He knew he would.

Sadly, the former Boruto only trained occasionally. He only started taking it seriously after he turned thirteen in his past life which was way too late.

In this one. He won't be wasting time.

Currently, he is spending his time training for the future. These six years were quite tough as not only did he have to act like a baby and a kid the entire time, but he also remembered some painful memories.

'2 more years and I will have to attend that boring academy again...but thinking back, that was probably the only place I had a memory of, where I could laugh and relax.' Boruto showed a small smile as he remembered the stuff he did as a kid.

Vandalizing the faces of the Hokage, stealing stuff from his father's office so that his old man would pay attention to him and much more.

Thinking about it now, all he ever wanted from his father, was recognition. Other than that, he only wished his father was home more often. He was always busy with work, came home late if he even did. He also never attended Himawari's and Boruto's birthday party after becoming Hokage. One time he sent a clone to Himawari's birthday party instead of going there himself and that was the last straw for Boruto at the time. He remembered he was acting like a brat because his old man led him to it.

But at the time, he couldn't understand what the word Hokage meant. Hokage holds too much responsibility. It's basically a job that requires a mind of steel. Not only did he have to sign tons of documents every day and accept missions, but Hokage also had to make sure the village was safe at all times and that the peace within the village wouldn't be disturbed by a sudden attack of an unknown enemy.

'My old man already had it tough in my past life and I was one of the reasons why. In this life, I will make sure that won't happen again.'

Boruto swore as he stood up from a tree branch and moved through the forest at a lightning speed. He stopped a few meters in front of a wooden house and threw a kunai towards the door.

The moment the kunai penetrated a black mark in the middle of the door, the house completely disappeared from his view and a green hill appeared in front of him. This was precisely a complicated genjutsu that was reinforced by an Uzumaki seal. It took him a year to create this place with the amount of chakra he had.

He walked up further and saw more than hundreds of his clones fighting between each other on top of the hill.

"Hm...their number had diminished because they tried to combine the Sage Modes again...When will they learn that it's impossible...I guess I need to make more of them."

Boruto didn't even weave a hand sign and another 50 clones appeared in front of him. He became so skilled in this Jutsu he didn't even need signs anymore. He was just as skilled as his father. The only demerit was his small chakra pool compared to a nine tails jinchuriki but even that could be ignored with Sage Mode.

He sat crossed-legged on the ground and felt the chakra around him.

In his past life, he was proficient in toad Sage Mode. But once he met Orochimaru and Mitsuki, he became interested in snake Sage Mode.

Under the guidance of Orochimaru, he finally managed to obtain it, but it didn't have as many uses as frog Sage Mode. Which left him disappointed and that's also the reason why he didn't use it often, but then he got an idea. What would happen if he combined them? Boruto really wanted to find out what would happen.

'I couldn't do it back then...will I find a way in this life?'

He looked at his right palm and murmured, "The mark has disappeared...Momoshiki...Do I need to defeat him again for it to manifest? Does it mean that each time I die, I get a free life reset?"

So many questions flooded Boruto's mind, yet there were no answers.

He looked towards his clones and observed them for a bit.

He obviously couldn't gain much just from using his clones to fight each other.

His main goal was to get used to his body and clones were perfect for that

Not only was he shorter, but he also weighed less. As his body has yet to mature, he can't pull out the strength of his prime. His chakra pool has also diminished to 1\10 of what it was, meaning that without the Sage Mode, he can't drag out the fights for too long. He also can't use any of his Sage Modes for longer than 5 minutes or else his body couldn't hold on.

For Sage Mode to activate, one needs to have a strong body, enormous chakra pool and you also need to be completely still. Of course, Boruto managed to find a way to bypass these restrictions and can temporarily borrow the power of the Sage Modes. He currently still needs to stay still to activate it but once he gets older he has a way to activate it while moving.

In the past years, he was trained by his father and his grandpa in all kinds of ways but it was mostly in taijutsu. Right now, a shadow clone of his was training in the Hyuuga dojo. As he didn't need to be present personally, he just sent one of his shadow clones to the dojo. Not even Naruto could guess it was a clone.

***

At the dojo. Fighting shouts echoed throughout the room.

"Hai!"

Boruto struck Hinabi's arm, causing it to slightly redden.

"Hai!"

Hanabi sent a palm strike towards Boruto's neck but he dodged it with ease and counterattacked towards her knee. Hanabi sidestepped his attack and mumbled, "Nasty little kid...where did you learn these lethal strikes from? You could have hurt your precious auntie just now..."

Boruto grinned and replied, "Well I learned them from you! Also, did you just say that after targetting my neck a few seconds before?! That's not nice..."

Both of them laughed and continued their spar.

Meanwhile, Naruto and Hiashi Hyuuga were silently spectating the fight between them.

"He is truly a genius. A one in a million. It's only been a week ever since he started training the gentle fist but he had already grasped everything. The biggest surprise was when he managed to learn rotation all by himself. My little grandson is truly a prodigy. Let's just hope that he awakens his Byakugan. It would be a waste if he didn't..."

Naruto nodded but didn't say anything.

Hiashi noticed his absentminded state and said.

"What's on your mind?"

Naruto looked at him with a complicated gaze and replied, "Sasuke sent me a letter regarding his 6 years old daughter...apparently, he won't return in a long time. He entrusted me with her...He said that I didn't need to take care of her or anything, he just told me to protect her if it comes to it."

Hiashi sipped on his tea and continued, "It must be tough on you. Say, are you preparing for the Hokage ceremony?"

Naruto smiled and replied, "I guess I can't hide it. That's right, I've been busy studying books about wars and politics. It's such a drag...Ah...now I am talking like Shikamaru...hehe."

"Well...Becoming Hokage was never easy, as you used to say in the past, there is no shortcut. Although you are already considered to be Hokage by everyone, you still need to learn how to act like one. Proper wisdom and etiquette are necessary."

"Ah, I know I know...I even stopped saying dattebayo...To tell you the truth, I only wanted to become Hokage, so that people would recognize my existence. I was alone my entire life. But now that I became somewhat of a hero, my only wish is to protect the village."

Hiashi thought about his words and refilled his tea, "That's the right mindset of a Hokage. Protecting one's own village, as if it was his own family, however, never forget about your real family. Once you become Hokage, you will be a busy man. Try to spend as much time as you can with your kids before that happens."

Hiashi stood up and stopped the match.

"That's enough of training, you can rest Boruto. Come to grandpa!"

Boruto ran towards Hiashi and hugged him.

"Grandpa!"

Hiashi had a relaxing smile on his face and observed Boruto's condition.

There wasn't even a drop of sweat on him, meanwhile, his daughter was fully drenched, sweating bullets. She wiped her sweat into the towel and handed one to Boruto as well.

"Good fight!"

"Good fight indeed!"

Boruto and Hanabi started talking again, completely ignoring him and Naruto.

Hiashi smiled at their interaction and said, "Hanabi, take Boruto and play with him in your room, I have some stuff to discuss with Naruto."

Hanabi understood and shortly after, both of the left the training ground.

Naruto noticed Hiashi's gaze and asked, "What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost."

"Your son is simply...Remarkable. He doesn't even look tired after doing all of that. I simply cannot find anything he doesn't excel in. He is absorbing fighting styles and Jutsus as if he was a sponge. His future as a ninja is limitless."

Naruto looked towards the back of his son and murmured.

"I can feel that something is wrong..."

Lately, he could feel the wrathful aura of killing intent coming from his son a lot more often and he couldn't help but worry.

'What is happening to you...Boruto...'
