Looming Memories

"Bye, Meraki. It is wonderful meeting you." Dario said, shaking my hand. "You are beyond my expectations. Very ... different."

"You keep saying most of the same things though," I said, looking at the man with a frown on my face. "But I did enjoy your ... insights. Thank you for telling me more about my father."

"It is the best I can do for you since I was gone for so long." He said, grinning.

"I want to see you more, Meraki," Ruben said, smiling at me. "Maybe you can sneak into the Society."

"It is on my bucket list. Will you help me with it?" I asked, raising my eyebrows at him.

"Just give me a call and I will be there." She said, winking at me.

Finally, I turned to Lake who stood by the door, fidgeting nervously with whatever it is that he is holding in his hands.

"It is a bit of a shame to see you go," I said to him as he looked at me, startled. Though it was gone in a second. "Take care."
