Chapter Four

Mom and dad split from us when we got to the airport. It was just Mykel, Luna, and I when we finished checking in. Our suitcases went onto the conveyer belt and Luna and I carried little bags with our ID's and passports. We went towards TSA -Transportation Security Administration- and went down the pre-check path so that we could get through quickly. Mykel would've had it harder if I didn't convince him to wear normal clothes. My mother thought it was foolish because he is a bodyguard and she said he should always carry his equipment. He looked good in a t-shirt and jeans, though.

"So, have you two kissed?" Luna whispered once we got through. The TSA workers made me remove my shoes so I sat down to put them on.

"No." I smirked as she grabbed our bags. Mykel was still in the machine because it kept beeping. He reached in his pocket to pull out his keys. "Sometimes I want to, but I never do it."

"Do it! I'll make a video so when you get married I can show it!" She bounced on her toes.

"Oh, no." I shook my head, tying my shoes.

"Come on! It's obvious he really likes you! AND your mark hasn't changed. We aren't at school anymore. Plus, he's been here for over two months." She nudged me then looked up as Mykel approached us. I could see how muscular he was now that he didn't have all his gear on. "You should wear normal clothes more often."

"Are you flirting?" I gaped at her.

"If you don't take him, I will." She smiled as I stood. I could see Mykel smirk. On our way to the gate, we got coffee and eventually sat on a large windowsill close to our destination. All the seats were full and we didn't have a choice. I watched the moving planes outside with fascination. After a while, I glanced at Mykel who looked around with caution. My heart was pounding as I watched him rub his hands together. He seemed to be anxiously waiting for something. I could see Luna a few feet away at a bakery stand.

"Mykel." I pushed off the windowsill as he shifted to gaze at me. I bit my lip, suddenly nervous. "I want to try something... but you have to close your eyes."

"As long as you don't walk away." He studied me, the lights above us glittering in his green and brown eyes.

"It's tempting, but I won't." I chuckled. He crossed his arms and closed his eyes. The muscles in his arms bulged as he waited for me. Slowly, I moved close to him.

"What are you doing?" He questioned, but I didn't answer. I placed my hands on his thick arms, breathing in his scent. He smelled so good that it made my heart pound. He smelled like Bear Claw Old Spice which was secretly my favorite cologne. Being so close to him made me feel safe. I stood on my toes, shifting a hand to his chest and holding my breath. I felt so scared, but so ready. He was still too tall so I pulled on his shirt, causing him to lean down towards me. I gently pressed my lips against his and he instantly moved. I feared he would push me away, but he wrapped his muscular arms around me and pulled me closer. He kissed me back with passion. After a long moment, I pulled away and looked at my arm. It grew numb quickly which caused me to laugh nervously. "I've got you." He told me calmly, sitting on the windowsill. He pulled me into his lap leisurely where I fainted.

"It was so cute!" Luna squealed as we boarded the plane. "Did you do it because I said I'd take your man?" We had first class seats so we didn't have to go far. Mykel was by the window while I sat in the middle and Luna sat in the isle seat.

"No. I did it because I wanted to." I sat down. When we got to Hawaii, we put our things in our room.

"You and handsome get that one." Luna put her suitcase on the farthest bed, closest to the window. She knew I was more comfortable close to the wall.

"Uh...." I looked at her. "He actually has the room that joins to this one."

"We have two rooms?!" She smiled widely. "I love having a rich friend." She hugged me then looked to Mykel.

"Okay, this vacation is for you too, Muscle Man." She clasped her hands together. "Get your trunks on."

"No, no."

"She's right. We are all here for a break. That means you as well." I agreed. "So go change." He paused then went through the door that joined our rooms. Luna and I changed into our bikinis and matching summer dress covers that stopped just above the knee. When Mykel came back, he had swim trunks that had a seashell on it and a plain white t-shirt. I wondered if he got this pair because my bikini was a mermaid theme.

"Lookin' good!" Luna nodded with a hand on her hip. "Just missing one little thing." She approached him then stood on her toes, ruffling his neat hair. Even she was taller than me. When I saw his messy hair, my heart stopped and I turned away.

"Better, Jas?" She moved in front of me and I only replied with a nod. "You're biting your lip." I blinked, realizing I was. I stopped immediately.

"Let's go." I grabbed my bag and left the hotel room.

"Oooo, girl. You've got it bad." She ran into me, flopping an arm over my shoulder.

"Whatever." I blushed as we went to the elevator.

"You're in loooovvvveeeeee." She giggled. I only rolled my eyes as the elevator went down. I still didn't want to admit the feelings that I had for Mykel fully. I felt too afraid. I didn't know how my parents would react or how I would react and that scared me. I wasn't sure if Mykel had the same feelings, so I wanted to wait.
