Mew meets fox and land god again

The taxi ride lasted for a couple of minutes before they arrived at the entrance to a shrine.

[Your friend lives in a shrine? How weird.]

Ignoring Mew's comments once again, Akura-oh moved up the stairs, looking at the once run down shrine, which now looked decent.

He could feel multiple presences inside the building, no doubt one of them being Tomoe.

Akura-oh laughed softly as he made his way inside. From the hallway he could hear happy laughter, as well as smell the scent of oranges.

"Tomoe! Come out!"

Akura-oh yelled as the laughter inside died soon after.

The door was slammed open quickly as Tomoe, now with short hair, looked in annoyance and dislike at Aura-oh.

Looking further inside, Akura-oh could see the land god from before, feeding orange slices to a shikigami.

"I wondered who came barking at the door. If I didn't know any better, I would think it was a stray basterd. Now I see I wasn't far off from the mark."

Akura-oh took none of it, just smiling at Tomoe. He flexed his hands, ready to fight. When he was about to act, he body just froze.

[You can't fight. We were meant to play.]

Mew tapped Akura-oh on the head, as if reminding him to be nice.

"Tomoe! Come back inside and sit down!"

Tomoe seemed to lose his laughter as well, as his body moved to the nearest cushion near the table and sat down. He looked in annoyance at Nanami.

"Ah! It's you!"

Akura-oh startled a bit at Nanami's words. She shouldn't be able to know him if he was in this form. He could even see a slight hint of fear in her eyes.

[Yes! It's me! Give me some oranges too.]

Completely oblivious to the situation, Mew went inside, sitting down on the table in front of Tomoe.

[Akura-oh, come inside as well. She has oranges. Let's enjoy the food!]

As this was said in the same tone as before, Akura-oh couldn't help but follow the command as he sat on the the other side of the table, keeping his mouth shut. He came here to settle the score with Tomoe, and now he was stuck sitting here eating oranges. Akura-oh looked Tomoe in the eye and could see laughter in it.

"You're in this situation as well! Don't think you can laugh at me!"

Even to himself, the words just felt like an excuse.

"It's just... I never imagined seeing you like this. I just.. I just c-can't...pffffhahahaha!"

Tomoe began to laugh. Loudly.

Akura-oh wanted to smash his face to wipe of that smirk of his.

[What's so funny? He's my playmate for a few days...]

Mew said, not understanding the situation.

[Hey! Tell me what's so funny. I want to laugh too.]

Even if Mew was asking, Tomoe couldn't explain, being too out of breath from laughing.

[Akura-oh, tell me why he's laughing. I don't understand.]

Akura-oh looked at the confused eyes of not only Mew, but also of Nanami, her shikigami and her other familiar.

Akura-oh facepalmed. He just wanted to die. Why did he have to explain why Tomoe was like that. This was utter humiliation.

Luckily, Nanami helped out.

"Tomoe, explain why you are laughing."

Her tone was firm, making Tomoe stop immediately as he began to explain, though with reluctance.

"It's just that no one would expect 'the great and overbearing' Akura-oh, to be stuck in such as situation as becoming a familiar. To that pink cat no less."

Once again, Tomoe began to laugh, not stopping for a long time.

[Why is it funny? I don't get it.]

Mew still didn't get it. Not bothering with it anymore, Mew began to lounge on Akura-oh's head once more. There just was something about laying down on someone's head. It was very relaxing.

"Mew-sama. Shall we share some of the desserts we bought?"

Aldos, having kept silent until now, took out multiple boxes of desserts from his own personal space pouch.

[Sure!]

Like that, Nanami watched with excitement at the many delicious desserts being spread out on the table, both her and Mew couldn't wait to begin.
