Staying in the Hospital

After sitting in Ryan's car for almost fifteen minutes on their way to the hospital, blood started to trickle down her head and wet her shirt. Violet Xu did not notice the seriousness of her injury until she was dragged into the emergency room. Looking at the amount of blood on her shirt, Violet suddenly felt a bit dizzy.

Suddenly, she was not as disobedient and listened to Ryan when he told her to sit down quietly.

Ryan Chen had sent her to a room and left, knowing that she did not want to see his presence. Once she was seated in the treatment room, the doctor on duty cleaned her wound, wrapped a bandage, and sent her to another department to be examined.

In just half an hour, the words that she was injured spread to her parents, and suddenly, her mother and Ryan's mother came over to the hospital to visit her.

"How did you know that I'm here?" Violet asked as she looked at her mother.

"Your cousin told me," Anna said. She then turned to Ryan's mom and continued, "Mrs. Chen heard that you were taken to the hospital and we decided to come together."

Audrey Luo smiled. "Fortunately, I asked Ryan to visit you at your bakery and he happened to be around when you were injured." She was almost furious at her son when he did not appear with Violet earlier. It was then that she heard how Violet was taken to the hospital after she was injured.

"What did the doctor say?" Anna asked as she looked at her daughter anxiously. Her frown deepened as she examined her daughter from top to bottom. Although Violet's head was wrapped in a bandage, Anna could still see the traces of blood on her daughter's shirt.

At this time, Violet was glad that her head was already bandaged, or else, she was sure that her mother would faint after looking at the amount of blood on her head. Earlier, the doctor had snapped a few pictures of her wound and Violet thought that the wound was pretty scary.

Who would have thought that she would be this injured after falling in her bakery?

"They have scanned my head and now I am waiting for the result," Violet said. "If there's nothing wrong with it, I should be able to go home."

"Nonsense," a voice came from behind.

Violet Xu turned around and saw that Ryan was walking over with a clipped board in his hand.

"Even if your scan turned alright, you still have to stay for a day or two for observation," Ryan said. He saw Violet open her mouth to protest and continued, "Your head is an important part of your body. It would be good if you stayed for a day. If something happens to you, we can take immediate action."

Anna's worry intensified as soon as she heard his words. She patted her daughter's arms softly and spoke, "Listen to him. He's a doctor, he knows what's best."

Violet wanted to roll her eyes, but in front of the elders, she could only suppress her annoyance towards Ryan that he had decided to interfere with her life. Actually, Violet was aware that what Ryan had said made sense. However, because this advice came from Ryan, Violet was not so happy about it.

At this time, Audrey turned to her son and raised her brow. As if he understood what his mother was trying to convey, Ryan heaved a sigh.

"I have prepared a room for you," Ryan said as he looked at Violet. "You can move in right now."

As soon as his words dropped, Ryan could feel his mother pinching him on his waist. Turning around, he could see a warning gaze from his mother, instructing him to talk nicely to a patient.

Ryan beckoned at a nurse and instructed her to bring Violet to her room. Then, he left after telling his mother that he was going to check on the result of her scan.

Anna went with her daughter to her room and looked around. Surprisingly, Ryan had helped them to get a VIP room. The room was so spacious that it would be comfortable for someone to come and accompany her daughter in the room. She turned to Audrey and knew that the only reason her daughter was able to stay in the room was because of Chen's family.

Once Violet had changed into patient wear, Anna turned to her daughter and sighed. "I'll accompany you tonight, alright?"

Violet sat down on the bed and shook her head. "No, Mom, you should go back. Dad is alone at home. How will he manage without you?"

Hearing her daughter's words, Anna shot her a look.

"I will be fine," Violet said. "You can come and look for me in the morning. There are doctors everywhere and the nurse will come over if something happens. Besides, I still need you to go home and fetch my clothes. I don't think I can wear my shirt anymore."

Anna frowned as she recalled seeing the blood on the shirt earlier. After a while, she nodded.

"Right. Don't worry too much," Audrey said after a while. "Ryan will stay in the hospital and he can look after Violet."

"Alright." Anna turned to her daughter and spoke again. "Just list out everything you need. I'll bring them the next morning."

As the three women chatted about Violet's injury, a knocking came at the door, and soon, Ryan walked into the room with some reports in his hand.

"How's the result?" Audrey asked the moment she saw her son. "Everything is good, right?"

Ryan waved the result in his hand. "Her results are good. It doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with her head and brain. But she still needs to stay here for a day or two. Like I have said earlier, we are worried that the effect might show up later. From her injury, it does look like she had a hard fall."

"Right. If you're experiencing some pain or anything, just call Ryan," Audrey said. "Don't regard a slight headache as something small. It could be something serious."

Anna continued to look at her daughter with worry. When her niece, Sarah had called, Anna had heard how her daughter fell in the kitchen earlier and was shocked. Upon seeing her bandaged head, Anna was sure that it was a serious fall.

Seeing the look on her mother's face, Violet reached out to her hand and gave a gentle squeeze to assure her that she will be alright.
