Hell's Mines

Before the sun show itself, Bill already woke up from his sleep. He stretched his lean body and washed his face to refresh himself.

Walking out from his room, Bill tiptoe as to not make any noises. He didn't want Grandma Thea or Shia to notice him because he didn't have any excuses for now.

Tiptoe to the exit door, Bill abruptly stopped. Not because there are Grandma Thea or Shia in front of him, but it was unexpectedly the cat Shia brought. The cat is currently sleeping on the front side of the door. The cat was lying precisely on the front door that if Bill pulled the handle of the door, the cat would automatically get dragged with it.

Bill scratched his forehead while thinking the method of how to make the cat not wake up and meowing at him. Bill carefully tiptoed to the cat and brought his palm over the cat body in order to move her body. The cat immediately stirred at her sleep and her eyes slowly opened up. Before meowing at him, Bill dragged his palm over her mouth and shook his head rapidly at the cat hoping the cat will understand it.

As if she understood what Bill trying to do, the cat closed her mouth and let herself being lifted by Bill. Bill was shocked for a moment seeing how smart the cat is but the time is so tight, so Bill didn't have time to think about it. Bill placed the cat on the other side of the floor and patted her head.

"Thank you! I'll buy you an expensive food and milk later on when I had money." The cat meowed in happiness as a response for Bill promise.

Bill carefully grabbed the handle of the door and quietly closed the door when he already outside the Grandma house. Bill raised his head slightly and the purple moon appeared on his sight. Bill couldn't help staring at the moon again and again. In the earth, the moon was grey in color and didn't have any appeal to him. But here in the new world, the purple moon was so attractive to his eyes that he wouldn't grow tired over it.

Bill shook his head and started walking toward the northern gate.

A few minutes later, he finally arrived on the northern gate. Two robust men guarded the gate. Unlike John, which is serious and stern while guarding the entrance, the two robust men before Bill was entirely leisure at their work. Maybe because the sun not appeared yet, the two men decide to slack off by drinking some wine because they were certain no one would pass the gate at these hours.

Bill walked quietly and suppressed his presence as much as he can in hopes the two men didn't notice him. But it seems fate say the opposite since the two men quickly saw him. "Hey, you there!"

Bill composed himself and turned to the guard. "Yes?"

"Where are you going?" One of the robust men asked with his hawk eyes scanning Bill from head to toe. Despite being a bit tipsy, both men didn't neglect their job.

"I want to collect some herbs from the mountain, sir." Bill politely replied.

"Hmmm..." The two men pondered for a while before exchanged a look with each other then nodded.

"Okay, you can go on. But don't tell anybody about what we were doing before."

Bill understood the meaning and without hesitation nodded his head. "Of course, sir. Your secret is safe with me." Bill added with an exaggerating tone to reassure the men.

"Good." One of the robust men nodded in satisfaction and patted Bill shoulder, making the latter clenched his teeth because of the sudden pain.

'Why does knight really like patted someone shoulder with their full power??' Bill silently cursed

Bill bid farewell to the guard and quickly walked toward the mines.

After walking for an hour, Bill eventually arrived at the famous Mine. On the front side of the mines, there is a wooden plank with carved words "Hell's Mines."

Hell's Mines

That's the name of the Mines beside Lopez. Named Hell Mines because there is a massive hole on the middle side of it that no one knew how depth it. The hole looks like a passageway to hell. Adding to the fact there is a rumor spread around workers that some of them heard a scream or pleading for help while working.

Despite all of that, the workers keep persistent in their work to find more diamonds because their circumstances didn't support them if they were retire from their current position as miners.

Bill who oblivious to all of these currently walked toward the Mine with a high spirit.
