It was a long and arduous hour. Being unable to move even the slightest bit for such a time made time seem even longer than it was.
Yet Kan'na persisted. She had no choice in this matter. This was the fastest the machine could work to not have any errors. It might take another few weeks for them to make a faster working machine. It was easier and far quicker to just endure.
She hadn't imagined how horrible it would be to endure however.
As the hour went to minutes, and then to second, the time only seemed to drag on further. As it was carving the last runes she felt seconds turn back into minutes. Until the machine stopped, and the fluid dissipated.
The machine shut down and Kan'na inhaled deeply. It was so freeing, and she could breathe once again! She took a minute just relishing in the feeling before moving her body. She flexed her body, testing for any form of resistance.
Mana swirled and passed through her as if she was incorporeal. Yet with even the slightest focus it rushed through her body to her desired output. Kan'na stood upon her own feet and took several steps. A weird sense of weightlessness overtook her and she misjudged the distance. As she fell mana swarmed and gently caught her, bringing her back to her feet.
Torch felt like his nerves were wound as tight as can be. He once again thanked his body for being unable to express emotions. Tentatively he asked, "How do you feel?"
Her gaze shifted towards Torch, and a series of colors came to sight. The runes on her body shifted automatically, as if given their own thought. They formed circles on her body, and they pulsed as mana shifted through them. Her vision turned to normal after the runes shifted. Kan'na looked down to see her skin engraved with these magic circles, with just a bit of will she was able to undo this process and return it to standard.
The runes shifted back and forth before Kan'na decided the magic circles they took shape in were better. Oddly she felt her Key to All was making these adjustments. Kan'na opened her mouth and her words carried a strange authority. As if an Empress. Her word was law, and any who heard it would feel naturally compelled to listen.
Mana itself was protecting her, aiding her. It went from infatuation to pure worship. Her every whim was heeded, her every notion noted.
"I feel. . . fantastic."
Torch had to rip his senses free from forcefully listening to her. His voice carried awe, "It worked. . ."
Kan'na raised a finger and a magic circle formed, but this time it was using the runes that she created. Her own magic language. No longer was she held back by the obscure laws of her avatar, or that of the system.
Mana rapidly fell apart the moment it sensed Kan'na becoming disinterested in the circle. A weird sense of apology could be felt. Mana itself was apologizing for not pleasing her.
Raising the same finger she poked the air. Mana rippled outward, it was excited to be noticed. Slowly Torch found himself almost kneeling. He recognized he was doing so about halfway through the movement. This sort of subconscious effect, it was horrifying! His body actively creaked as he fought to return to a standing position.
A smile formed on her face, and Mana swirled about happily. Once again Kan'na spoke, and Torch listened attentively to every word.
"You have done an incredible job."
Weirdly a sense of joy filled Torch. This sort of feeling. . . was akin to that of positive reinforcement from a mother? As if his efforts were noticed and praised.
If he had skin he felt it would crawl.
Kan'na flicked a wrist and their surroundings shifted. The walls and machinery blurred together into streaks of color as the two arrived at his storeroom. Spreading her palms outwards Kan'na summoned several materials. Like paint they morphed into color and twisted themselves to her will.
Assembling and fusing to her will a device was created. It held the look similar to that of a miniature hourglass. A mana crystal shone brilliantly at one end. Inside the two halves of the hourglass were two shining wisp like creatures. They bounced about at the walls of the hourglass, incapable of escaping.
The hourglass spun while hovering in her palm. Kan'na let it float as it hovered towards Torch. He gently grabbed it and asked, "What is this?"
"A bit of extra payment. The souls of Orothus and Harreth. I had extracted it when they were fused via Synced Nexus. They are now separated, and are yours to use."
"What would I even use this for?"
Kan'na smiled and Torch suddenly felt his question was pointless. He gently held the reward and instead nodded, "I have an idea."
He did? Why did he say that?
"I have taken much of your time, now that my commission is complete I think I shall leave you be."
"It's not a problem.", Torch hurriedly replied.
"Would you mind if I used a few more mana crystals?"
"Not at all."
Torch inwardly cursed, words were coming out before he could even think them! This sort of commanding presence was simply too overwhelming for a mere Second Stage like himself!
"If you wish for my input on another creation, feel free to call upon me. I would be happy to work with you again. Hopefully next time it would be for your benefit instead of my own."
Kan'na vanished and Torch exhaled despite being mechanical. What had he gone and created? If she was an SSS grade pull before, what was this now? A meta defining pull?
Torch turned his gaze towards the hourglass within his grasp and felt a bit of confusion. Seriously what was he going to use these for?
Meanwhile Kan'na was floating through the air. Mana propelling her flight with excitement. It was not exaggerative to say that as long as mana existed, she too could be anywhere. As for her previous concerns regarding the operation. . . they no longer were an issue! After all this sort of thing was recognized by the system as well!

< Response received! >

< The World has decided! >
< The World claims you've become unmatched in magic and mana! >
< Unfortunately a God already has the claim for magic >
< The World wishes to promote you to the Goddess of Mana! >
'A God? The term of "promoted individuals" rings true then. There was the history of Borus and how he ascended to Godhood. I suppose the fact that Mana now worships me puts me in the category of godhood. However I'm only Third Stage. . . would that be an issue?', Kan'na pondered to herself.
Considering that the Gods worked as they pleased, and held a unique authority, the offer was appealing.
"Is there any conditions to this promotion?", Kan'na asked the World.
< The World states you are free to do as you wish! >
< The World mentions that you gain benefits based on your worship. >
< The World mentions that you can provide blessings as a Goddess. >
< The World mentions that your presence alone can bring benefits to those that witness you. >
"Troubling, but interesting."
If she had to build a following to gain strength that'd be an issue. It wasn't something she'd be interested in. But if she could gain benefits by accepting a promotion like this then. . .
Strange, to think she'd gain a promotion to Godhood through the usage of manmade machine. Or would it be considered machine-made machine? Would she be considered a manufactured Goddess? The thought amused her.
Thus Kan'na decided, "I accept."

Considering that the effects were mostly the same as The Key to All Kan'na wasn't entirely impressed. Excluding the potentially infinite MP and immunity to Silence and magic negation, now that was a terrifying concept. Is this the might given to a God?
'I suppose I'm more of a low tier Goddess considering I'm still lacking in Worship and Stage. . . that's fine.', Kan'na thought to herself.
In a sense Her 3D magic of the Key to All was a cpu She created. Along with the Mana Worshipped Existence She had simple increased the available hardware for the cpu to use. She was a finely tuned magic existence. Truly, She was a manufactured Goddess!
There was a few points She was interested in. Namely the Gods Providence, Mana's eternal servitude, and the new stat of Worship. Considering there was already a God of Magic, since She was the Goddess of Mana would there be friction between Their existence? That'd be a shame, She'd love to hear about what a God of Magic could do.
Swiping open Her stat screen she paused upon seeing Her Worship stat be far larger than She expected.
Worship: 500,000
Did this mean there was already half a million people who worshipped Her? No that can't be, right? Kan'na tapped the stat to figure out more and found that the list given was. . . just mana!
Mana counted as an entity towards Worship! Since Mana originally treated all things equal, it never once worshipped anything. However Kan'na was the first to gain its worship! Now being promoted to a Goddess, She gained the according benefits!
There was simply too much to check! Kan'na pushed aside the flood of knowledge and focused on Her immediate next task. Several mana crystals hovered in front of Her. Immediately they squished and formed the discs, yet Kan'na shook Her head.
The discs allowed ease of access when writing, what She needed was something a little more complex. The might of three dimensional magic! The discs morphed into spheres instead, their smooth and perfectly round shapes pleased Kan'na.
Immediately it felt like the surrounding mana celebrated. Kan'na snapped Her fingers and tiny runes rapidly inscribed themselves both outside and inside of the sphere. Quickly the orbs finished and She reached out to grab one.
With a smile Kan'na approved. It was indeed an object capable of teleporting someone across the continent! This could serve as Akiol's path back when he was finished with his journey.
Morphing space into a pocket She placed the spheres within. A sort of subspace magic meant for storage. Something She had messed about with now that Her understanding of space had deepened. As a Goddess, such things were easy now.
She still had time before a day had fully passed to send Akiol westward. . .
Looking at the list of available options Kan'na pondered on what She should do first.
