Ron stood at the doorway, arms crossed, his face a mix of curiosity and suspicion. The six Gryffindors froze, exchanging nervous glances.
"Well?" Ron asked, stepping into the room. His voice had an edge to it now, a tone they weren't used to hearing from him. "What exactly are you kids doing with that book?"
"Uncle Ron" teddy and Vic said together.
"Uh... research?" Oliver attempted, scratching the back of his head.
"Research?" Ron repeated, his eyebrows shooting up. He walked over to Vic, who was still holding the book, "Care to show me the book vic" Turning it over, he read the worn title "The boy who lived, y'all still reading this"
"What are you doing with this book?" Ron asked, For a moment, no one spoke. The tension in the room was palpable, thick enough to cut with a knife.
"We were just reading about some magical artifacts," Teddy chimed in, hoping to steer the conversation away from the locket.
"Artifacts, eh?" Ron's eyes narrowed slightly. He glanced at the closed book in Vic's lap. "Mind telling me which one?"
Oliver, who had been pacing moments ago, suddenly froze. Vanessa looked to Teddy, who gave her a small nod.
"It's a locket," Vanessa admitted hesitantly. "A special one... from the book."
Ron's expression shifted, his amusement giving way to a more serious demeanor. "A locket?" he repeated.
"Yeah the one Hermione used, that story and that locket seen fascinating, so we wearing trying to slove-" Before Vic could complete her sentence Oliver interrupted her.
"Yeah like a Mysteries game we are trying to slove"
"You kids shouldn't be messing with stuff like this," he said finally, closing the book with a snap. "Some things are better left in the past."
"Mr Weasley, can we ask you something?" Vanessa asked looking at her friends.
"Who was that innocent person that Hermione went back in time to save?" Teddy asked.
"Listen to me carefully, all of you" he said, his voice low and serious. "You shouldn't go in past, and enjoy your holiday Like other kids"
"But Uncle Ron—"
"No 'buts,' Vic," Ron interrupted, his voice firm. The six of them exchanged uneasy glances, but Ron's stern expression left little room for argument.
"Now let's go everyone is waiting for you" And with that, he was gone, leaving the six of them in stunned silence.
"I don't like this," Will said finally, breaking the quiet.
"Neither do I," Vic agreed, her voice shaky.
"But he's hiding something" brian said
The group exchanged glances, a mix of uncertainty and resolve.
"It's obvious Mr Weasley know" brian whispered.
"We can't stop now, we have to find it" Vanessa said!
"Let's go back now, we will continue when we are back at Hogwarts" teddy said and the 6 of them started to walked towards home.
