In a New York apartment, there are lots of food at the table and people talking at a birthday party for Enzo. Seeing his cake with icing in his name and a candle of 25 being lit by his Mother in her mid 50's wearing her striped white and black dress as he stands wearing his red shirt and white pedal shorts at the center of it all.
"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Enzo, happy birthday to you!" People sang joyfully.
Enzo approached the cake and blows off the flame from the candle but it was all just a simulation of recreating his memory. He opens up a chute embedded on the wall and puts the memory chip inside and sends it down.
Enzo is wearing a black suit in this reality because we are now back to the future in the year 2077. He looks around as he sees nothing but a chair and his brown jacket on the side as he takes a seat on it.
"It's my birthday today were should I go?" In his thoughts.
He takes his phone and scrolls as he looks for a place to eat.
"Ramen tastes nice, I haven't tested it for months now. I should go." - he stands.
He walks out of the room taking his jacket and placing it to his right arm.
He gets out of the elevator as he looks at the side and sees seven-year-old children wearing their uniforms viewing some of the memories of vision in his mind. He walks out of the building and takes a walk on the sidewalk in this modern world where there are three-dimensional billboards on high rises and electric cars going underground.
Enzo looks at the huge holographic screen above the door in the news of the speech of the president William Carter in his mid-early 60's wearing a blue suit and red tie.
"My fellow citizens, as you all aware we have caught the syndicates who have been stealing numbers from other people and have put them to justice. For those who wish to continue in this path, we will stop you," William said.
Enzo leaves and walks across the road as he looks at his right wrist and sees number 477-84 colored in gray. He walks out of the crosswalk.
In a Japanese restaurant, Enzo sees the city and the ocean from up above the skyscraper as he sees a holographic advertisement of Geneva where it says "find your matching number, download the app now."
Enzo checks it on his phone and hesitates to click download. He turns off his phone as the Ramen gets delivered by the Waiter wearing white long sleeves with a bow tie to his table.
"Smells nice, thank you," Enzo said.
The Waiter smiles at him and leaves. He hides his phone and he takes the chopsticks and starts eating his Shoyu Ramen. His phone vibrates as he sees it's his mother calling and he picks it up.
"Hi Mom, how are you?" - smiling in excitement.
"That bad huh?..." - he smirks.
"Wa...what?" - he suddenly starts to cry.
Enzo looks off and starts envisioning; he and his father playing on the beach when he was kid, his father tucked him in bed, hugging his father when he was crying, playing catch with him.
Enzo is trembling with his tears crawling down on his face and eyes turning red. He puts his phone down.
Suddenly it's night and he's in his apartment bed crying his heart out.
"Why God!?" Enzo shouted.
Envisioning again thought of him and his father riding the light train together when he was still a boy and talking about heaven.
"Do you know what's cool Enie?" His father asks.
"What dad?" Enzo replied.
"The train is the ride to heaven." - his father looks to him smiling.
"How come?" Enzo asked.
"Because it's so beautiful, you can see the beautiful view of the earth on the window as you're traveling. Reflecting on the things you did on this good earth, it's there in your reach but yet so far away." - Enzo laughs as his father messes with his hair.
The next day, Enzo's apartment starts to open his curtains and plays a jazzy drum piece. He wakes up and covers his ears.
"Stop!" Enzo shouted.
The music stops and his phone unlocks.
"twenty-three unread messages," his phone notified.
Enzo gets up from the bed and takes his phone with him to the bathroom. Enzo now already in his suit as he closes the door on his apartment, locks it, and leaves.
Enzo slid out a teriyaki on the train station food station containers on the wall. He waits on the bench and eats his teriyaki. The train arrives.
Enzo gets inside the building as he sees his friend Enya wearing her carefree red dress.
"Hey bro," Enya said.
"Hi, En," Enzo replied.
Enya looks at him in a worrying face.
"I'm so sorry about your father En," Enya said.
"It's fine, he was struggling enough anyway," Enzo replied.
Enya hugs him, he holds her tightly at the center of the hall as some of their co-workers looks at them and smirks. Enzo sees and he breaks up the hugging.
"Did your number improve?" Enya asked.
"Enzo yes it did actually by ten," Enzo replied.
Enzo's wrist as his number is now 477-94.
"Wow, that's good," Enya said.
"How about you?" Enzo asked.
"It's going up also." - Enya looking worried.
"Can I see?" Enzo asked.
"No," Enya said - hides her arm.
"Alright chill," Enzo replied.
"She's lying," Enzo's thoughts.
The bell rings.
"Time to go," Enzo said.
Enya nods at him as they both go their separate ways as he looks at Enya.
"She's hiding something," Enzo's thoughts.
On school grounds, we see a girl with her lunch on his hands as he stands opposed to the Boy sitting on the bench. She approaches him.
"Hi..." the girl greeted.
"Hello," the boy replied.
"Can I trade some of your fish for my chicken?" the girl asked.
"Sure" the boy replied.
"What's your name?" The girl asked.
"Enzo," Enzo replied.
"My name's Enya, nice to meet you," Enya said.
Enzo is shy as Enya sits beside him and they traded punches. They stare at each other and smiled. It seems this is also Enzo's vision as its being captured by the screen as the young kids watch it in their classroom.
In the cafeteria, Enzo sits down alone on the table with his meal as he gets joined in by Enya.
"Hi," Enya said.
Enzo looks at her.
"Oh hi," Enzo replied.
Enzo gets approached by Mark, a coworker.
"Hi, Enzo," Mark greeted.
"Hello Mark, what can I do for you?" Enzo replied.
"I heard the news. I'm so sorry," Mark said.
"Thank you, Mark," Enzo replied with a smile.
"Did your number go up? You can eat at our table if you like some more company," Mark asked.
"No it's okay I don't want to leave my friend here," Enzo said.
Enzo looks at Enya and she looks at him dearly.
"Not unless she can come?" Enzo asked.
"Your kidding right? She's not even a seventy," Mark said.
"Then I can't Mark sorry," Enzo said.
Mark nods and leaves the two of them alone. Enzo looks back to Enya and they both laugh.
"Wow, they're hang up on these numbers," Enya said.
"Yeah, it's like going up to the point that lower numbers can't have what they want," Enzo said.
Enya looking worried then starts to make a smile to hide it. Enzo starts eating his food.
"Let's eat," he said.
Enzo smiles at Enya and now Enya digs in on her food.
"She's hiding something," in his thoughts.
