GIVE AND TAKE (4)

After the first round of fistfight, both of them released their grip on the other. Panting, they glowered at each other.

On the onset of the second round, Su Jingjing hurriedly ran towards Yang Haoran and clung her arms around his neck, her body blocking his front. "No, stop, please! No more! Xue Guangxi, please leave! Yang Haoran said he's sorry for what he did. And the poisoning? I don't mind it at all! I'm not blaming you as well. Maybe it's something else, someone else. I'm okay now so let's just forget about it!"

As she spoke, she buried her face on the crook of Yang Haoran's neck. The man couldn't help but smirk a triumphant grin on his swollen face.

"You hear the lady. I reckon you can find your way out."

"Still smug, huh? Bastard."

But when he turned around, Yang Haoran spoke in his velvety voice, repentant, "Hey, Guangxi, I'm sorry."

He halted when he heard the apology he came to reap, then fled into the night.
