"Jingjing, we have to talk."

"Just tell me your instructions, Mr. Yang. I'll get to it as soon as possible."

The lady waited for orders, head bowed down. Yang Haoran's eyes flickered with what seemed to be disbelief. With a tinge of hurt in his velvety voice, he questioned her, "Are you avoiding me?"

The lady's lips twitched but did not answer so Yang Haoran continued, "Did I do something wrong? Since that night you – "

"If there's nothing else, Sir, I would like to take my leave. I still need to finish some tasks before the day ends."

"Jingjing…"

"Apologies for being rude, Sir." She gave him the most courteous ninety degrees bow to compensate for her impudence. She never looked at his face and remained stoic as if the human in her had turned into a robot.

"We will talk again later." Yang Haoran muttered softly as she turned to leave. She must have heard since she faltered in her steps out of his office.
