18. Finally Leaving the Dungeon

As David reached the room without any doubts he set the timer to 60 minutes as he believed that with his newfound efficiency after the Flame lions was enough to clear the 60 minutes mar and on top of that his stats had increased a lot too. Things started just like the last time David was massacring massive amounts of monsters every minute but there was only one difference, David's fighting style, unlike him from about 100 days ago, David had learned to dodge with subtler movements and attack with less energy usage.

Almost acting like an optimized robot David kept massacring throughout the whole 60 minutes averaging about 40 kills/minute killing a total of 2413 total monsters and he saw that the prize was stacking up good.

"Your accumulated prize is, 20 free stat points, 20 free skill levels(not usable on all talented), 0.6 stat potential(can only be collected as whole numbers)"

Realizing his stat potential increased by 0.4 he realized that he could increase his stat potential all the way up to 3.0 a perfect 3, a 3 might seem like a low prize but when you think in the long run, when someone gets 1000 levels, that would make 3000 stat points way more than he got from any prize so far.

David started clearing the challenges one by one, in one challenge he would kill undead skeletons, in the other he would kill all manner of bugs and in the other he would get attacked by huge boulder like monsters. After clearing all the 6 trials David's accumulated prize looked something like this.

"Your accumulated prize is, 50 free stat points, 50 free skill levels(not usable on all talented), 3.1 stat potential(can only be collected as whole numbers)"

He had actually overdone the challenges and got 0.1 over what he thought he would get. But this was not a problem as hw could get the 3.0 and leave the 0.1 behind. As he pressed to just check the outcome, he was directly given the prize as there was no longer any chances to continue the challenges. David decided to place 25 points in str and 25 in con as he wanted to be able to fight the ogre boss head on, not die for a while and damage the monster. David also spent all the free skill level upgrades on the punch of the gods as that was the only skill that would boost his power by a lot with only 50 levels.

David was feeling like a monster after clearing the challenge room and at that moment he heard a ding sound in his head.

"Due to you capturing all the rooms except for the Boss room, the boss is weakened by 20% and will try to capture the rooms back, in 12 hours, its first batch of monsters will arrive, until it captures one room it will be weakened by 20%"

David felt ecstatic after hearing that Gruutsh would be weakened which meant that it would be even less powerful than the last few Flame lions, not wanting to give Gruutsh any chance to capture any rooms, David started running towards the Boss room. After 10-15 minutes he was at the room and he saw that Gruutsh was furious, he was shouting and screaming at the air and cursing one god or the other. Just as it was doing all these things it saw David and become even more furious realizing this was the being that took away his power and his minions. He withdrew his sword from its hilt and started running towards David.

Just as David was getting ready to parry the attack, he saw Gruutsh leaving his line of sight even though it was in the middle of it. Not even a split second later, it appeared back in front of David and was swinging. David thought that he would have a hard time dodging the attack but that 20% star decrease was showing its effect.

David was happy that he was able to move away just enough to dodge the attack when a blue hue appeared and shot at him from the sword. Realizing he couldn't dodge this one, David attacked the blue energy as it didn't really look like a cutting force but more like a blunt attack. His right hand landed on the attack and he felt the blue energy barrier break, he dealt 21 times a normal attack would deal with his skill so this was the expected outcome, the unexpected outcome was that only the part he had hit had failed and the rest of the blue hue was acting like a rope buckling towards David's hand. He tried to get away but having attacked with a full power punch just a second ago he was unable to take action. David watched as the swinging blue lines reached his arm, the attack didn't do nearly as much damage as he thought it would but still it took about 400 damage.

Not wanting to give Gruutsh any time to attack once more, he pounced towards Gruutsh and punched as hard as he could while also inflicting bleed and burning. David felt his hand hit the monster expecting it to stumble backwards so he could keep attacking but the monster stood its ground and launched an attack of his own. David saw the sword slowly reaching him from the upper right side swinging towards his lower left, David moved and angled his body slightly to the right and dodged the sword.

Right after dodging, David swung his right arm with the momentum he had built already and his hand connected with the monsters head. Unlike the last time, The monster stumbled back 3 steps but recovered quick enough to not let David get in another hit. Gruutsh started another swinging motion with his sword this time swinging horizontally trying to limit the ways David could dodge.

David realized that he couldn't dodge this attack by leaning left or right so he jumped back and made some distance between them. David realized that he was definitely faster than the monster and he definitely dealt more damage than the monster did, David realized that with the things going as they are he could definitely win and if he managed to land a few more punches to the head of the monster, it would become even more sluggish the only problem was if he got hit with a full on attack of the monster.

David took the initiative and pounced towards Gruutsh and realizing that swinging sideways worked Gruutsh did the same thing but David was expecting it this time and was able to go under the sword and come bak up right after to land another punch to the right side of Gruutsh's head, the monster took even more steps back then he did before and David wanted to monopolize this opportunity and followed right after, David managed to get another hit on Gruutsh's chest.

Gruutsh realizing that he was about to be comboed, activated a skill called Shout. This skill was an AoE attack that damaged everything in a 10 m radius around him and it scaled with constitution. Not only was it an attack skill, it was also able to stun the people for two seconds.

David was able to resist the stun for some but not for the whole duration. As he was holding his head trying to rebalance his world he felt the sword of his enemy hit his chest and he started flying back. He looked at his hp to see that he had about 30% Hp left and he got up as soon as he landed and saw his enemy laughing at him and mocking him.

David became a bit more careful and didn't take the initiative this time but he also saw that Gruutsh wasn't taking the initiative too, he realized that most skills had cooldowns and pounced towards Gruutsh and after dodging an attack David landed a heavy punch to Gruutsh's head and saw that the monsters head had caved in, and a few more attacks to the head would definitely take care of the monster.

David kept dodging and trying to attack Gruutsh's head he would manage to hit the monsters head every 3rd attack or so after 3 more hits to Gruutsh's head David saw the monsters brain splatter all over him and the nearby area. At that exact time David also heard the ding sound in his head.

"You have cleared the dungeon, Clearance rate %100, please go to the treasury and pick up a treasure of your choice, you are allowed to pick any treasure up to Epic grade"

Right after the sound David heard a heavy grinding sound of stone on stone. He turned to that side and saw that there was a door opening slowly. David proceeded to enter the area and saw that there was millions of items stacked on top of each other and some even placed in separate containers. There was also a pedestal and when David placed his hand on the pedestal he felt information about millions of items invade his mind, he started looking through them to see what he wanted the most between them but also realized that this would take a while so he asked the system

"Hey is there any way for you to show me what are the most suitable items for me"(David)

"Here is a list"

David looked through the list and most of them were Diamond grade leather armors made out of level 700-1000 monsters. But there was this one item named Gloves of War. This equipment not only gave you stats and protection but it also gave percentage power increase for everyone in your group. David chose this without a thought as he needed a glove and he would want the ability to power everyone up even though he had no one at the moment.

David chose his prize and donned it immediately and after a second or two he was teleported out of the dungeon, not even having time to inspect his weapon.
