17. Clearing Every Single Room

As he heard this announcement he swore never to kill the bosses while they were weakened. He started looking around a bit more and saw that the room connected to two more rooms, one of which was the dark room that he ran from previously. The other room was full of lions five times Davids size, their mane was made out of fire and they had fire at the ends of their tails.

At first David thought that these were the only two rooms that he saw but didn't clear but he decided to check every room once more to see if he forgot any rooms since these rooms seemed to be some kind of a final rooms before the boss and indeed there was one room he had skipped a room with hob-goblins. These hob-goblins were basically the big brothers of normal goblins, there seemed to be not many of them only about 200-300 and they seemed to be less powerful overall than the bridmen considering the birdmen could move really fast.

David kept watching because he knew something was up with this room as only easy rooms were as easy as this and if it was going to be an easy room, it wouldn't be hob-goblins, it would definitely be normal goblins. Immediately after David started watching he understood why these monsters were so weak.

A hob-goblin the size of a five story building, walked out of a shrine built probably for itself and took out a blood red orb and started chanting some strange language. After 3 seconds or so the red orb started emitting a bloodthirsty aura with blood red rays, even though David was observing from far away he still felt his power being sucked out of him. David went back a bit until he didn't feel any power suction and looked back at the area and saw that the hob-goblins were basically trying not to die while the huge hob-goblin kept absorbing all the power, its eyes had become blood red and its size had increased by about 10-15 centimeters.

David also realized that some of the hobgoblins had died as the result of this, David realized that this was probably the reason to both the insignificant strength of the hob goblins and their lack of numbers. After the huge hobgoblin went back into the shrine that had a hobgoblin head made out of what David assumed to be sandstone, David started killing.

In 4 days he killed off all the small hobgoblins and realized that the huge hobgoblin came out every 12 hours and its size would shrunk every time ans after he had killed the other hob goblins, the huge hob goblin started getting smaller 5cm by 5cm, David realized that if he just rested for a week the monster would be way less powerful even then he decided to challenge it at its peak. Instead of running in no fucks given David decided that maybe planning things beforehand might be a good idea for this.

The blood red orb was the most important part of the upcoming fight, David knew that if he let the huge monster keep the red orb it could probably find time to activate the red orb causing David to slowly start losing power while he was already at a disadvantage. In order to get the red orb David's plan was to use sidestep and take it directly and then deal with the building sized hobgoblin after he secured the red orb. David guessed that the hobgoblin would be pretty fast so he also planned to jump away right after snatching the red orb.

Getting his plan ready David decided to give it a go, waited for the hobgoblin to come out of the shrine and as expected the hobgoblin did as such.

The hobgoblin took the blood-red orb and started chanting, David didn't let the hobgoblin finish the chant and used sidestep to directly move next to the red orb and tried to pull the red orb from the monsters hand. He was able to budge the red orb from the hobgoblins hand but he was unable to actually snatch it as the monster acted fast and increased his grip on the red orb.

David felt the air pressure from the hobgoblins other hand reach him from the back and he saw his life flash before his eyes, he felt like he was about to die. He realized that he couldn't dodge this attack and he started thinking of possible ways to get out of this but none came to his mind. As a last resort he decided to attack the red orb. As he was about to get hit, he couldn't swing too wide but was able to attack the red orb, the orb broke but nothing changed, the hand was still coming towards him and he couldn't dodge at all.

As the punch landed, David felt all the air in his lungs leave his body and he started flying towards the floor, he tried to balance his body or reduce any force but he went head first into the floor. He was shocked to see he hadn't died. Not even looking back He started running towards the safe room. Somehow he made it all the way to the safe room and as he dud he looked back to see the hobgoblin was shrinking and shrinking, David watched for 10 minutes or so until the hobgoblin became even smaller than a normal hobgoblin, it didn't stop there either, it just kept shrinking until David heard the system notification after he could no longer see the hobgoblin.

"Normal room captured with its boss powered up, instead of 15 points in every stat you will be given 20"

David thought that he would get 10 because he didn't really beat the boss himself, but he also realized that probably no one could kill that behemoth of a monster at level 50 since that one strike had taken his hp all the way down to 107 hp with his total hp being 2800. He even failed to dodge even though he was ready for the attack. All things considered, this monster was way more powerful than he had thought it to be.

Taking a few days off after almost dying David decided to just keep clearing the rooms. He set his eyes to the room with the flame lions as he didn't know what kind of creatures dwelled in the pitch black room. As he reached the Flame Lions room there was only one thought in his head.

These things look waaay more powerful than the normal monsters of the other rooms. The normal fire Lions in here are on par with the bosses of the first few rooms that were basic, like the monkey boss or the mantis boss.

Luckily for David these monsters were prideful and refused to form groups and even clashed between them one entered into others territory. There was approximately 100-110 of these monsters after killing 2 or 3 of these he would be exhausted mentally and decided that he would only hunt up to 5 of these at one day and he started his killing. First day 3, second day 5, third day 4 and the days kept rolling but after some point the Fire Lions started becoming more and more powerful. At some point David was able to kill only one of these every day as he would have to go back heal to some degree and come back and do it again slowly whittling down the monsters hp.

It was about 50 days later that David was able to get rid of all the Flame Lions, even the boss or the lack of a boss, there was no one boss for this room, their power was more on a continuous scale than the huge gaps between the previous floors. There being no boss didn't make this job any easier as he had killed 77 monsters in the first 20 days and killed 33 in the last 30 days, some even taking as long as 10-12 hours to kill.

"Advanced room captured, you will be given 20 points in every stat and 10 free stat points"

Without a shadow of a doubt David spent all the free attribute points on constitution. David decided to take 4-5 days off as he was absolutely exhausted from all the long and arduous fights that hd actually increased his endurance in fights. Resting for the few days following the clearance of the Flame lions room, David was feeling well, with his increased stats and increased power he decided to look into the shadowy room but then he realized that there was a room leading out of the flame lions room. He decided to check that out first. He started walking through the corridor and realized this was a looong looong corridor. He finally reached the end of the corridor and saw the half ogre beast he saw.

Gruutsh low bloodline Half-Ogre lvl 123

David realized that the Ogre had leveled up and become more powerful albeit way slower than he powered up. This ogre was only a bit stronger than the flame lions but again it was more clever than them and if David tried to do what he did with the Flame lions it definitely would find a way to cope with David. Not wanting to end the dungeon and probably not being able to David quickly ran back to the Flame lions room. He didn't stop there and came as far as the shadowy room.

David had no ida what was going inside the room and he was kinda scared to check it out either but he knew that he had to check it out to get a perfect clear of the dungeon so he started slowly creeping towards the room. As he entered he could feel danger coming from his left but he couldn't feel the exact location not with his ears not with his eyes nor with any other sense. He got hit right back to the corridor and he had lost some hp but it wasn't that critical. Nothing came out of the room, normally monsters were able to leave the room and enter corridors only being unable to enter the safe room.

David saw the claw marks on his arm and realized that it was another animal type of monster. David went back in there to see whether he could dodge one while in the darkness and after 5 tries he managed to take out one of the monsters and dragged its body out of the room to see that it was a black panther. Their name was shadow panther in the system and these monsters were fast and silent, normally they weren't that sneaky during day but under the cloaking of the night these monsters would become a huge problem. Under the magical darkness they became even more of a problem, the only positive about this was they weren't nearly as strong as the Flame lions and only as fast as them. David wasn't able to consistently hunt these monsters as he just ventured close to the back wall but as the tike passed he got used to the darkness in the room and without seeing he became able to sense things to some degree. David also realized that he could use mana to increase his perception even more and at that point he gained the Mana Perception active skill and realized that this was probably the intended solution for this room.

Earning the Mana Perception 26 days after the hunting started David realized how much of a time waste he did and started killing panthers left and right, not really even with the increased perception he couldn't sense too far and the monsters were still showing some degree of resistance against him. Luckily there weren't that many of them and at around 50 days all of them were wiped out and David heard the notification sound ring in his head for another time.

"Advanced room captured, you will be given 20 points in every stat and 10 free stat points"

Just like the last time he spent all his free points in con. Feeling like it was finally time for him to clear the challenge he started walking towards the challenge room.
