22. Finally Some Free of Danger Time

The college had two semesters of 5 months with two months between them, the two months of vacation was mostly used by the students to fill their mission quota for the next semester as to not miss any classes but there were also some people who just liked to play around whole holiday. The missions in the mission hub was graded with stars and if a mission was graded at 3 stars it would take of 6 months of missions off the table for you as it would count as 3 1-star missions.

It was currently mid February the middle of the first semester of the year as the semester started 1 day after the new years and went on until the first day of June. David would only be allowed to study his talent combining skills until his age had hit 18 or would hit it in the following year. Which meant that David would have to study skill fusing and get better and better at it for the rest of this semester and the following semester, the only down side of being a talent student was you would have to give back to the university as they didn't ask anything else except for you to use your skills for the academy.

As David was free for the first week, he decided to finally get his first occupation. He went ti talk with Benjamin and together they went to the safe room. The person guarding it scanned Davids bracelet and asked for his purpose of entry and got scolded by Benjamin, saying I don't know to jack-off safely maybe. After that the guard was pretty bummed up and just wrote occupation on the paper and let David in.

As David got inside the room, he realized that it was nothing like he had thought, he imagined it to be a no light zone with nothing but floor and 4 walls but there was a comfy mat to sit on while getting or upgrading your occupation, there was an option to choose the light dimness, there was an automated food service that only gave high energy concentration food for you to be able to support your occupation gain or upgrade if it was highly physical.

David sat down in the mat and opened up his status screen

After seeing how far his skills had leveled up he pressed the + button right next to the "no occupations" at that point a pop up saying

"Are you sure you want to proceed with the occupation gain, this is a one time thing after accepting it, you cannot reverse the situation"

There was a yes and a no button and David proceeded to press the yes button after considering and speculating what he would get.

David seeing his choices was stupefied, he thought he would get 1 legendary at most and he got 1 unique, 2 Legendaries and 1 epic, realizing that Unique occupation was the highest level, even higher than Legendary which was literally seen as the top tier of the world at all times. Even though he decided to choose the, The Chosen Fist, he still looked at the other occupations.

Fist Emperor: Emperor of Fists, your ability with your fists increases to a whole new level and your fist/punching skills become even more powerful. You are skillful enough to become an emperor in this world.

One Punch Man: you are slow but one punch of yours deals enormous amounts of damage, you might down an elephant by accident while trying to pet it. However you slowness makes it hard to land a punch but that is not a problem if you are strong enough to kill people your level with just gusts of wind produced from your punch. Heavy damage increase to your punch skills but also a small decrease to your dexterity.

Fastest Puncher of the West and the East: You are so fast, people your level cannot see your attacks most of the time. This not only increases your attack speed but also your movement speed so you are also way faster than people your level. Your skill cooldowns will decrease a lot, your movement and attack speed increases by a huge amount.

The Chosen Fist: you aren't granted any super powerful physical abilities whatsoever, you are slower than the Fastest Puncher and less Powerful than the One Puncher, but when it comes to leveling up your skills especially but not limited to your Punching skills you are way faster and when I mean way faster I mean way faster, you are of course powerful and faster than any Epic occupation. The occupation is suited for the users wishes and current.

David when he saw the first few lines felt bad but then he proceeded with the rest and saw that it was actually what he wanted instead of super high stats he wished for super high skill levels no one had reached and have a one up that way.

David chose The Chosen Fist after looking at the occupations and at that point He started feeling tingling all over his body, the tingling sensation kept increasing and increasing and at one point it just became full on itching. After an hour if tingling and another hour of itching Davids itching and tingling finally ended, just as he was thinking that this was over, another feeling of warmth now started filling his body.

The warmth kept increasing and increasing just like the tingling. David realized that the warmth he felt in his head was way more than anywhere else and it was increasing way faster too. After about 10 minutes his head was about to crack from the warmth, it had not gotten any hotter it was just that its density had now increased more than 2 times for some reason David knew that this was no where near its end point though so he just gritted his teeth and started waiting. After another 20 minutes the warmth he felt had become way denser and as it got denser and denser, David realized that his thoughts had become cleaner, his perception had increased by a lot. David realized that this was almost the same as mana perception, differences were, the warmth and the degree of perception increase, the warmth increased his perception way less than the mana perception even in its lower levels.

As the warmth faded in a second David realized that the increased perception and clearer thoughts had stayed. He even realized that his reaction speed had increased. Just as he was marveling at how much his base mental abilities had increased when he heard another ding sound.

"You will be taken to your occupation dungeon, no prizes will be given from the dungeon"

As David was taken into the dungeon he saw that this was way more primitive than what he hd to clear in the dungeon that Benjamin had sent him into. With his stats, every room would take about 30 minutes to an hour depending on the number of monsters. The dungeon was anti-climactic in Davids thoughts because he had gotten a fucking unique occupation only to find himself dealing with a few hundred level 70-80 monsters that were more than plentiful in his last dungeon and these monsters in the occupation dungeon were also way less powerful than the monsters in the other dungeon, the more he cleared it the more he felt angry at the system for this anti-climactic occurrence.

After more than a day David finally finished the 15 room Dungeon with a 100% clear rate.

The final boss was nowhere near as powerful as Gruutsh and he had gotten even stronger after that fight anyways with his new gloves that i creased his attack damage by almost 50%.

Just as he killed the Goliath final boss, David was teleported back out.
