21. The Actual College

As the time for the carriage's departure was drawing closer, David saw the first grade students and Julius walking towards the Carriage they were sitting in at and realized that he was going to go to the college together with them. As David waved at Julius, Julius also started waving and David ditched Benjamin and sat together with Julius which also worked out for Benjamin as one of the three people who wasn't the first year students was their teacher, who happened to be a beautiful woman, the old people chatted between themselves while the young chatted between themselves.

David was hyped about the College of All and kept pestering Julius asking him all about the college after more than 8 hours David had calmed down about the College but in this 8 hours he had learned many things. He learned that the college had specialized rooms for earning or evolving occupations, it wouldn't increase your chances or anything but it was totally cut off from the outer world and you could be fully safe and keep your process secret as most people preferred it that way.

There was also a mandatory need to clear at least 1 missions every two months. You would take the mission and leave for a few days and you would have to catch up on the lessons yourself.

The mission hub was one of the Adventurer's association and there were even missions that required you to hunt down certain nobles in their own country, but as these people knew they were being hunted they would hide most of the time.

There was also an arena function that you could use from anywhere in the world, the arena was called the Arena of All as it was created by The College of All. when you formally signed up, you would be given a bracelet and after putting it on it would go under your skin and stay there as a tattoo. This bracelet had many abilities and functions, it would record your kills, the missions you have taken, your information, even the previously mentioned arena function was accessed from here.

The arena wasn't limited to The College of All anyone from anywhere could join the Arena as long as they went to an Adventurer's association, there was rooms that one could rent out for 1 silver coin for 1 hour and it was a good way to test yourself out against random people from all over the world. There was level suppression if the lower leveled person wanted it but it wasn't used that widely as normally everyone fought against people near their age and level group. There was the occasional mad lad who would fight people with 100 or so levels over them but that was about it, and they didn't really ask for level suppression either.

The arena had a ranking and every month the ranking would reset and every month the top 100 would get various prizes depending on their placement.

The classes were mostly on fighting techniques and you would be allowed skill books as you got through semesters depending on your placement. Meaning that if you placed high on the arena between your first year mates you would get better skills.

David spent the rest of the few days, chatting with his peers, learning about them, and talking about the school in general. While also not neglecting Benjamin, as the road took about a week by traveling 14 hours a day with the carriage, he got to know and learn all about his one year seniors and got to learn all about the big shots of the school and all that jazz.

During the last day of travel David was so excited that he was basically jumping where he sat down. As the sun slowly going down, in the slightly dusky atmosphere with a fully tired squad, David finally saw the Academy that he had been so hyped to see and to be perfectly clear, it definitely fulfilled and even overdid all the hype David had. The Academy was not one building, it was a huge campus definitely the size of a city, in the middle of it was the actual Academy and it was even bigger than the royal palace of most of the Kingdoms and Empires. The building had many towers and many many rooms from the outer looks of it. The College was all David had hoped for and more.

As the carriage reached the city-like campus and the guards were searching for any confiscated items David saw how crowded the campus was with hundreds of shops and thousands maybe tens of thousands of students buying selling, also tens of thousands of random people living there. David realized rather than a campus this place was an actual city. David and all the other students waited until the carriage had reached the college building until hopping off. At this point David knew he had to apart from all the people he had met because he had to do all the registering stuff while they would turn in their quest and probably rest for a day or two.

After bidding farewell to his friends, David heard Benjamin's sound

"Hey kiddo, take your stuff and follow me, lets get fitted in and become actual members. "(Benjamin)

David did as Benjamin asked and while he was getting his stuff and following Benjamin, they started chatting.

"You seem to have made a lot of friends in the last few days, its important to have friends, but be careful as the world is not such a beautiful place where everyone would protect and support you, in your worst time most of these friends will leave you behind, whats more important than casual friends is the friends who are there for you in your worst and your best times."(Benjamin)

David was wondering how they got to this line of text from just casual talk when they finally reached the entrance of the main building. As they entered the building they didn't see any reception of any kind whatsoever. After asking the janitor that was cleaning the area they learned that non entrance exam registries were made from one of the side building to the right of the main building. Leaving the main building like baby ducks, they headed for the building to their left as they thought the janitor had meant the building you see to the right while you are coming. They reached the building and asked where the registrations were and was told to got to the building other side of the main building.

Having failed so miserably for 2 times they headed for the third building that was said and finally saw some kind of reception and went ahead to ask whether this was where they could both sign up. It was indeed the correct place finally.

They handed out their letters of acceptance to the reception and was told to wait for a minute or two and after a brief wait, they were given clothes and bracelets. The clothes were the school uniform for students and teachers. They were also asked to step into one of the body history testing rooms. Body history testing was a kind of testing to find how much stats people had when they were at what level, this was done so the bracelet could reduce their level to the said amount while on the arena, so rather than a fixed avatar you would have your body and stats just at that level.

This body history testing machine was a huge altar like machine that had a place for you to place your bracelet on. You would place the bracelet, before binding with it, get on top of the altar and let the machine operator read through your body and voila, your stats for the said level would be recorded, the machine wouldn't collect skill data though so even if you were in a less powerful body you would still have the same skills. So even if your power was decreased in the arena you would still have your superior skills.

The testing took something like 15 minutes for Benjamin and 2 minutes fir David and after the testing was over, they were assigned places in the dorm, students were strictly prohibited to living in the dorms and they were not allowed to live outside in a house even if they were the emperors son in some empire. Teachers and instructors were allowed to live outside but their dorm would still be theirs and if they wished to move in one day they could just move in and dorms for the instructors weren't like the dorms for the students, there was no shared rooms or anything hell there wasn't even shared buildings, every instructor had a small villa made for them and they would be supplied all the food they ordered without any charge. Being a professor in College of All was really the dreams of some people. But for people who were actually professors or instructors in the College it wasn't anything too over the edge as they were well-known people.

As they left the reception building, after saying byes David and Benjamin parted and then it turned out their places were in the same way so they had a strange ahaha I guess not bye moment and then they moved together to their dorms, David's dorm was closer than Benjamins and after dropping David off in his dorm, Benjamin moved towards his own place. The villa had 2 floors, the lower floor was just a huge living room and kitchen with a corridor in between them. The upper floor had 3 rooms, one master bedroom and 2 smaller bedrooms. Benjamin settled in the master bedroom and wondered whether he could let David live with him. As he was a transcendent he didn't need sleep and he just started working out and didn't stop until it was morning while thinking all kinds of different things he could do, how he would teach the kids, he was assigned as the head teacher for hand to hand combat.

While Benjamin thought about all these, David was getting settled in his room, as he was a talent group student, he was given his own room but he still had to go to the cafeteria to eat. Clean his clothes, but there was room cleaning every week at least. After learning all this David didn't waste any time overthinking stuff and went to sleep.
