The final test

Right as Wei Sha glided past the Void Plateau's edge, he recognised a change around him which had occurred many times before.

A slight smile grew on his face. He associated the situation as him having passed the second last test.

The occurrence befalling him was Lin Siniang halting whatever she used to bound his soul or body into the space in which he underwent the test.

[Test ninety-nine, pass] she spoke as Wei Sha found himself, instead of soaring in the void, standing on the spot wherefrom she had dropped him into the test.

"One more," Wei Sha said as his hand moved to scratch his injured eye, but before he could do it.

[D- n-t]

Wei Sha lowered his hand. "Thanks."

The burning itch stayed, but like Lin Siniang, he understood that the last thing he wanted was to poke at the injury more. An eye infection would leave him to wait for death.

[You are w-lcome] she spoke as she floated around him.

"Now." Wei Sha put a leg in front of the other. "There's one more test before I can claim you."

[Correct] She hovered past him. [On-e mor-]

"C'mon." He saw her rush into a corridor. "Wait for me," he shouted for her to slow down.

His body had little interest to march onwards when nothing threatened his life. Yet as the bubble hovered onwards, Wei Sha put his ragged body to follow her.

Muscles crackled and resisted his every move. Still, not wanting to miss the briefing, he pushed on with sheer grit and lust for power. Plus, it would really suck if he didn't hear her instructions and would fail because of that.

As Wei Sha ran after her, there were parts in the corridor which were nothing but those black boxes. However, he, having tested with them many times before, jogged on what appeared as a gap between two bridges with no care.

[Test one h-nd--d] When Wei Sha got there, she had just started with the instructions. [defeat the last owner when she cl-ime- owner-hi-]

'At least I know what to do.' Sometimes her instructions would be lengthy, complicated, and full of stutters, so the one she gave now was straightforward.

"Got it." Wei Sha stepped past Lin Siniang. "You should start packing," he joked as a gigantic figure popped out from the red wall opposite of him.

Wei Sha raised his fist. "Greetings!"

"Greetings!" a female giant with one big eye in the middle of her head responded.

Necessary introductions completed, Wei Sha put the arm he had raised on his eyepatch.

'No reason not to go full power.' He wouldn't start slow or half-power against a person who had cleared those same hundred trials. And so, he ripped off the patch covering his eye.

Three metallic nails penetrated his eyeball, still working to some effect. At least without the eyepatch in the way, he wouldn't have a huge blind spot when fighting.

Three straps restraining his legs were released too. They had been holding him up so far, but they also hindered his movements. And he wasn't going to be crushed by a giant's fist because he couldn't dodge low or fast enough.

"Heh," he snickered when seeing his opposition apply the same tactics.

At the same time, he was impressed, for the giant ripped out her arm, which Wei Sha had already recognised as hanging out of its socket.

His snickers ended. 'A mace?' His eyes enlarged and jaw dropped.

She would use her own arm as a mace!

"I like your dedication!" he shouted while thinking maybe he had overestimated his willpower since he couldn't match hers.

The giant did not respond, most likely too focussed on keeping her pain levels restrained.

Wei Sha before starting glanced behind him, but Lin Siniang wasn't there anymore.

'Well, now is good as ever.'

Thought completed, his legs propelled him towards one of the four corners of the cubicle room, away from his opponent.

While running there, he noted the giant rush at him with a face full of pain.

"You should have thought more!" Her action was deserving of all his respect, but it wasn't smart or logical.

Her action had gained a definitive advantage; however, Wei Sha now sought to lengthen their duel until she dropped dead from excessive blood loss.

So in his mind, he had the bigger advantage.

That was his opinion until he had to acknowledge the momentum her gigantic legs of hers achieved when given a long stretch of space.

'No worries.' Wei Sha had another tactic in his mind when they were at two gigantic arms' distance from each other.

With a sudden burst of momentum to which the hunkering giant swinging her arm wouldn't have time to react, he ran to be between her thick legs.

"Take this!" He struck her achilles tendon with everything he could muster into his attacks.

'Good effect.' The leg under attack wobbled from the hail of punches directed at a single spot.

On the other hand, it wasn't much, and it was time to move.

He wouldn't stay there longer, for the giant sought to crush him by closing her legs.

As the legs closed with a thump, Wei Sha, having long since dodged the move gripped onto her dress and climbed.

The giant started a search for him, yet Wei Sha's grip onto the fine silk dress wasn't going to slacken just because she spun around a bit.

Also, he discovered an advantage and would be dammed if not capitalising on it.

So scaling the side of her dress soaked in blood, Wei Sha made his way upwards to the shoulder socket, spewing blood at the volume of a creek.

'That'll do.' His hands grasped onto a loose muscle as he jumped to her chest, ripping flesh apart with his movement.

From her chest, he ran towards her other shoulder, until his power to rip the muscle more was exhausted.

Then, as the giant let out cries of agony, he would use gravity to do the rest.

He jumped off her bountiful chest with the muscle fibre still in hand.

Mid-way to his descent there came a halt, yet it soon continued.

As with a ripping sound, the muscle he had been trashing separated from the bone it had been connected to.

'O right.' Wei Sha hadn't been expecting this when going with the flow.

But a small shock from landing on the red flooring wasn't comparable to the damage he inflicted.

'A small loss for a 'gigantic' victory, he joked. Though, demons would gladly exchange raw numbers with anyone.

And from a glance upwards, he could observe an open wound stretching from her shoulder socket to the middle of her chest.

'She won't last long,' Wei Sha reasoned and once again ran below her waistline.

His first tactic had been about keeping distance, but her speed making that impossible had let him do the exact opposite.

Now he would stay there where her 'mace' couldn't reach him.

Still, the giant demon didn't just surrender, his opponent wasn't a mere warrior. Every demon who had gotten this far would need to be a strategic mastermind whose battlefield stratagems would almost equal the tactics of humans.

This predetermined understanding of his opponent was instilled in Wei Sha's mind, for he knew she would at some point execute a manoeuvre the whole of demonkind hadn't witnessed in many millennia!

Indeed, Wei Sha wasn't in the wrong to expect that a masterful ploy was being spun around him. On the other hand, when he realised the ploy he was too late, far too late.

Unbeknownst to him, her movements which appeared random to Wei Sha lead them to one of the corners in this red room. Of course, Wei Sha had seen the corner coming, yet somehow had dismissed this as insignificant.

'What a mistake,' he lamented as he realised her mace would have a direct hit with him in the next fraction of a second.

Her mace, consisting of flesh, smashed into Wei Sha's side.

The impact sent him crashing towards the corner she had trapped him in.

Seconds later, Wei Sha coughed blood while old wounds opened as his back collided with the hell brick wall.

"Fight!" he screamed at his own body, sending him signals of breaking. His mind would never waver the same way his physical body might.

Wei Sha continued to roar, attempting to re-ignite his fighting spirit, while from the corner of his eyes he perceived his opponent continue her momentum.

"MOVE!" he shouted, facial muscles and veins popping out, his frontal teeth biting at each other.

"Yes!" Flames ignited in his body. "Yes!" Washing away exhaustion. "Yes! And once again the battle scales he still had managed to preserve hardened.

"Round two!" Wei Sha roared as he took footing from the wall and lept at the giant already swinging at him.

Behind him, cracking coming from bones breaking were caught by his ears. Her severed hand collided with the wall in a sweeping attack meant to end him.

'She's not even thinking about that arm as part of her anymore,' Wei Sha had an extra thought before reaching target.

Legs landing on her nose, hands taking a grip from her eyebrows, Wei Sha let out an animalistic cry as he pierced her pupil with a closed fist.

He withdrew his hand with a sideways swing motion, cutting a horizontal wedge.

Not done and having stabilised himself more, he kicked her eye too.

Wei Sha, if need be, would dismantle his predecessor limb by limb.
