I Want To Be Strong To Protect Master

After the agents made their introductions the atmosphere became amiable. They didn't stay for too long because they too were looking for candidates that would represent them. Arthur left as well after giving his daughter some reminders. There were only twenty seven days remaining before the world of Edea opened. The sooner they found their candidates, the better.

"Ok, let me give you a walkthrough about the basics of the GGS App," Alice said while taking out her I-Foam. "Let's talk about the Fashion Shop first."

Abbie brought out her own phone and opened the GGS App. She clicked the Fashion Shop and waited for Alice's explanation.

"As you can see, the Fashion Shop, as the name suggests, is all about the clothes your Summoned Hero can wear," Alice explained. "Some of the clothes can be bought with gold coins, while others can only be purchased using [Red Panda Coins]."

"Gold coins can be obtained by clearing missions. Right now, there are no missions available, so you will have to wait to replenish your gold. Since you are a beta tester, you are given 500 gold coins for free."

Alice checked Abbie's Fashion shop and noticed that there were only 450 gold coins remaining. "Did you already buy something?"

"Yes," Abbie replied with an awkward smile. She explained what happened this morning when Alex finished taking a bath and her Dorm Head entered their room.

"I see," Alice nodded in understanding. "So this "Superman" short and shirt set he is wearing right now came from the Fashion Shop? Not bad! It looks great on you, Alex."

"Thank you, Big Sister Alice."

"Although it is good to purchase items from the Fashion Shop, it would be best to save your gold coins to buy him proper equipment in the beginning," Alice said in a serious tone. She looked at the cute shota sitting beside her and patted his head. "We'll go shopping later. Big Sister, will buy you lots of clothes."

"Un! Thank you, Big Sister."

"Anything for you, Alex."

Alice was in her business mode. Although she would like to pamper Alex, now was not the time to do that. She then clicked the [Hero Search] Function.

"According to our studies, the Hero Search app has a maximum range of three kilometers in the real world," Alice emphasized. "Once a Hero goes beyond three kilometers from their master's location, they will automatically return inside the I-Foams. The I-Foam in your possession is not only a phone but a registered gateway that allows your hero to go back and forth from this world to Edea. Never, ever, lose your I-Foam. Do I make myself clear?"

"W-What will happen if I lose it?" Abbie asked. "Will something bad happen?"

"If you lost it by accident, or if it gets damaged beyond repair, you need to report here to the company within 48 hours." Alice answered. "In the case that it went missing, we will be able to summon it back using the [Mainframe]. However, if it gets damaged beyond repair, we will issue you a new phone. You will need to register again, and do the binding process one more time. A penalty of $5,000 will also be deducted from your monthly allowance as compensation."

"That sounds reasonable."

"If possible, I want you to keep the I-Foam safe at all times. If you can't carry it with you, make sure you put it in a safe place. Just like how your phone has a Hero Search function, Alex can also faintly detect the location of your phone. After all, it is the gateway he is currently using to materialize in this world."

Abbie seriously nodded her head. "I'll do my best."

"The Equipment, and Potion Shops are self explanatory. I don't need to tell you how it works since you said you are familiar with Role Playing Games." Alice ignored them and clicked on the Character Class function. "The Character Class function is the one we should pay attention to."

"I also want to know more about this function," Abbie said with a frown. "Is this where I choose Alex's Job Class?

"Yes," Alice nodded in affirmation. "Alex's default job is [Fighter]. It means that he can switch job classes within the Fighter Class category."

Alice glanced at Alex who was listening to their conversation. "Alex, is there a specific job class you are aiming for? If yes, please tell us so we can do a simulation. We will let the [Mainframe] choose the most appropriate character build for you. This includes your stats, and the skills that you will learn in the future."

"I-I want to be strong," Alex said with determination. "I want to be strong so I can protect myself and Master." He then raised his head to look at Abbie. "I don't know anything about Job Classes or how they work. Please, pick the one that would be the best for me, Master."

Abbie pondered while staring at Alex's unwavering gaze. "Do you want to be a pure melee fighter or do you prefer a job class that can also use magic?"

"I'm not sure." Alex shook his head. "Will I be stronger if I use magic?"

Abbie glanced at Alice and found the latter deep in thought. She could tell that Alice was also thinking of the job class that would fit Alex's disposition. Right now, the cute boy was only a One-Starred Hero. Alice knew that Alex was currently the weakest hero in the company's lineup. That's why picking the right Job Class was of great importance!

"Are you proficient in any weapon?" Alice asked. "There are many types of fighters and the weapons of their choice greatly affects their character build. What weapon do you want to use or are currently using?"

"A short sword," Abbie replied before Alexander did. "Alex's primary weapon is a short sword." She had already seen Durandal and read its descriptions. Abbie believed that although Alex was the weakest hero, as long as Durandal was by his side, he would at least have a fighting chance. Afterall, the sword was of "Mythic Rank". It was a rank higher than the Legendary Rank.

"Short Sword," Alice scrolled down on her GGS App to check the Job Classes that specialized in short swords. There were many job classes that appeared when she did the initial search. She gave them all a brief glance before focusing her eyes on three job classes.

Alice stood up from the bench and gestured for the two to follow her. "Let's go to the simulation room. We need to test whether these character classes will suit our Alex or not."

Abbie nodded her head and held Alex's hand. She gripped his hand firmly and followed behind Alice. Since Alex sincerely wished to become strong to protect not only himself, but also to protect her, she would support his decision.

"Alex."

"Master?"

"Do not become strong."

"M-Master?" Alex almost didn't believe his ears. Did he just hear his master tell him not to be strong?

Abbie's grip on Alex's hand grew tighter. She looked at her Little Hero with tenderness. "Don't become strong. I want you to become the strongest!"

Alex's eyes moistened as he heard his Master's words. He bit his lip and firmly nodded his head. "I hear and obey, Master."

Alice heard Abbie's words, and Alexander's reply, but she didn't turn her head to look at the two people behind her. Her fists were clenched and determination burned in her eyes.

'Don't worry, Alex. This Big Sister of yours will make sure that you become the strongest.'
