You Didn’t Kidnap That Child Right?

Abbie watched as Alex left the room with a smile. The chubby girl patted her chest in relief because she managed to escape the Dorm Head's invitation to eat her cooking. She was still only nineteen years old, she didn't want to go to heaven yet!

Abbie was not a heartless person. She had a heart to heart talk with Alex and confirmed that he really liked to eat Yue Ying's cooking. There were also no visible side-effects in the boy's body from eating her food. Abbie thought that it was due to Alex being a hero that he was able to survive the Dorm Head's notorious dishes.

Since Alex was more than happy to eat the Dorm Head's cooking, she didn't have any reason to stop him from doing so.

'Alex, don't worry,' Abbie said in her heart. 'I will pick you up as soon as I finish eating in the cafeteria.'

She took her old phone from her drawer, and looked for her Mother's number. When she found it, she immediately clicked the call button. Although she had already informed her yesterday about her visit, she decided to call and make sure that her Mother was waiting for their arrival.

After a few rings, a timid voice came out from the other end of the mobile phone. "Hello? Sister?"

"Lily? Is that you?" Abbie smiled as she heard her sister's cute voice over the line. "Is mother there?"

"Mother is cooking right now," Lily replied. "Are you going to visit us today? Mother said that you were."

"Yes, we will be there before lunch time," Abbie said. She missed her little sister. It had been two weeks since her last visit and hearing her voice over the phone made her heart melt. "Did you miss me?"

"I missed you very much."

"Do you want me to get you a cake?"

"Un!"

"What flavor?"

"C-Chocolate," Lily stuttered. "Can I have more than one slice?"

Abbie giggled before answering. "I'll buy you a whole cake!"

"Wow!"

"Wait for me, ok?"

"Un! Mother is here," Lily hastily replied. "She wants to talk to you."

"Good, please hand over the phone to Mother," Abbie said. "I'll see you later, bye bye."

"Bye Bye!"

The voice of an older woman was heard from the other end, and Abbie knew that her mother had already picked up the phone.

"Will you be here before lunch time?" A mature yet kind voice asked. "You're bringing that boy named Alex right? I saw the picture you sent me. He's such a cutie!"

"I know, right?"

"Abbie, tell me the truth. You didn't kidnap that child, right?"

"Mother, do you really think I'm that stupid?"

"Ye-- Of course not," Amelia, Abbie's Mother, answered. "You may be a bit stupid, but you're not a child traficker. Tell me, how did you meet the boy?"

Abbie sighed. She knew that her mother would easily see through her lie, but it couldn't be helped. She signed a NDA Contract and she was not allowed to tell anyone about the contents of the game. Even if she did, no one would believe her.

"It's a long story," Abbie said with a frown. "I'll tell you all about it when we arrive."

"Very well," Amelia was still busy in the kitchen so she didn't want to ask questions over the phone. "Safe trip, I love you."

"I love you too, Mother."

Abbie hung up and looked at the time on her phone. It was already nine-thirty. If she ate now, she would not be able to appreciate her mother's homemade dishes. Although she was feeling hungry, she decided to endure. It had been a while since she had tasted her mother's cooking. Waiting a few more hours would not be too difficult.

'I'll go to the Dorm Head's room at quarter to ten. That would be enough time for Alex to eat some of her cooking,' Abbie thought. 'It takes an hour to reach our house if I take the bus. Should I take a taxi instead? I also need to buy a cake for Lily."

Abbie pondered for a minute before making her decision. 'We will go to the cake shop first to buy a cake then take a taxi. Alice has already transferred the funds to my bank account and I can use my I-Foam for online transactions. Yosh! Let's do this!'

While Abbie was pumping herself up to meet with her family, Alex was happily eating Yue Ying's homemade cheesecake.

"How is it?" Yue asked anxiously. "Don't force yourself if it tastes bad."

"Don't worry, Big Sister Yue," Alex replied with a smile. "This is called a cheesecake right? It tastes good."

"Really?"

"Yes! But, since this is a cheesecake, shouldn't it taste like cheese? Why does it taste like bitter melon?"

'It tastes bitter?' Yue Ying thought. 'Strange. I only used five boxes of cheddar cheese. Should I have used more?'

While she was thinking of what went wrong with her creation, Alex was already eating his fourth helping of the cake. She was torn away from her thoughts of cheesecake and a certain adorable boy eating it when a knock sounded on her door.

"Dorm Head, it's me, Abbie. I'm here to pick up Alex,"

Yue Ying sighed. Her time with Alex has come to an end once again. She was hoping that she could spend the entire day with him, but he already had a prior engagement.

A determined expression flashed on her face. 'It's fine. Alex will be staying here for a month. I have plenty of time to conquer his stomach through my cooking!'

Yue Ying read in a magazine that one of the best ways to capture a man's heart was to conquer his stomach first. She believed that if she tried hard enough, Alex wouldn't be able to live without her cooking. It would bring her one step closer to fulfilling her cradle snatching plan!

"Alex, I'll store the remaining cake for you," Yue Ying caressed the side of Alex's face. "Eat it later when you return, ok?"

"Really? Thank you, Big Sister!"

"Mmm, good boy."

Yue Ying stood up from her seat and opened the door. Abbie immediately glanced in Alex's direction to check if her cutie was still alive and kicking. Seeing the smile on the boy's face, the weight that was hanging on her heart finally disappeared. She thanked the Dorm Head for taking good care of Alex and left her room in a hurry.

She was afraid that if she stayed a minute longer, the Dorm Head would find a reason to force her to eat her cooking. Abbie didn't know that Yue Ying had no interest in letting anyone eat her cooking aside from Alex. The Dorm Head of the girl's dormitory watched them go with envy and a little bit of jealousy in her eyes.

Yue Ying wished that she had met Alex sooner. If she had, she might have been his current guardian instead of Abbie.
