Master Can Never Be Wrong

Abbie's and Alex's first stop was The Pink Ribbon, a store famous for its specialized cakes. In the past, she could only stare through the window of the shop and look at the cakes that they had for sale. Although she could buy a few slices, it was still way too expensive for a university student like her who had limited funds.

When Abbie became a beta tester, she received funds from the game company. Five thousand dollars may not be a big deal for rich people, but for a university student that came from a middle-class family, it was a lot of money.

'Lily wanted a chocolate cake,' Abbie thought as she gazed at the many cakes for display. 'I wonder which one of them is the best?'

Since her little sister wanted a cake, Abbie wouldn't be stingy. She would buy a whole cake just for her! Actually she was planning on buying two, but her mother was a very thrifty person. She was afraid that Amelia would give her a good nagging if she were to act like a second generation nouveau rich.

Abbie was not an expert when it came to cakes. For her, the bigger the cake, the better! While she was still pondering what cake to choose, Alex's eyes wandered around the store. He looked at the cakes on display and frowned.

'None of these cakes are as delicious as Big Sister Yue's,' Alex thought regrettably. The shota wasn't bad mouthing the cakes per se. The cakes in the store were mass produced and followed an automated system. They were very different from the home-made cakes that Yue Ying made--filled with the feelings of hope and joy in an attempt to make people happy.

For Alex, foods that were made with strong feelings were the most delicious. Even if he was to eat a cake that was burnt into charcoal, as long as there were strong feelings behind it, he would definitely eat it!

"Is there a cake that has caught your fancy, Alex?" Abbie asked. "If you'd like to buy something, just tell me, ok?"

"Master, I'm still full," Alex replied. He had no interest in eating these cakes. Instead, he was looking forward to the rest of the cheesecake that her Big Sister Yue had set aside for him. "I ate a lot of Big Sister Yue's cheesecake back at the dormitory."

"Is it really that good?"

"Un!"

"Do you think I'll survive after eating a slice of it?"

Alex looked at his master with a serious expression on his adorable face. "Master, I think it would be best if you don't eat Big Sister Yue's cooking."

"Alright, I believe you." Abbie confirmed her suspicions. Since Alex had said that it was better to avoid Yue Ying's cooking then she would avoid it like a plague.

Abbie resumed browsing the cakes that were displayed in the store. In the end, she chose a Chocolate Truffle Cake for her little sister. After paying for it at the counter, she left the store with Alex in tow. Although she seemed calm on the surface, Abbie was actually looking forward to seeing her little sister's reaction when she saw the cake she had bought for her.

"Master, how will we travel to your house?" Alex asked. He had only been summoned for two days and was still not aware of how the transportation in this world worked. Back in Edea, they usually used horses, cows, or other tamed beast to travel the land.

"I was planning to take the bus, but since I want us to arrive earlier, we'll be taking a 'Grab Car'," Abbie replied.

"A Crab Car?" Alex inquired. "You use giant crabs like a car, Master? How big are they?"

Alex's eyes sparkled at the thought of riding a giant crab. He never had the chance to ride a tamed beast back in his world. Could it be that he would be able to experience it in this world?

"Not Crab, Grab," Abbie chuckled as she corrected Alex. "Yes, it is indeed a car. We use it to travel around since we don't have our own."

Alex watched in disappointment as Abbie took out her I-Foam from her pocket. She opened the App to call for a Grab Car and made the necessary arrangements. The two only waited for a few minutes before the car arrived to pick them up. While inside the car, Alex decided to ask his Master about her family.

"Master, what is your family like?"

"My family? I think we're the perfect example of a normal one," Abbie explained. "My father works in a company. My mother stays at home and looks after the house and my little sister. My big brother is working overseas, and my little sister is the same age as you."

"We're of the same age?"

"Yes," Abbie replied. "I hope the two of you will get along. If possible, I'd like Lily to become your friend, Alex."

"If that is Master's wish then I will comply."

Abbie frowned when she heard the boy's words. Although she had already noticed this at the start, Alex seemed to take all her words seriously. It was as if Alex was programmed to follow her every command.

"Alex, if I tell you that the sun rises from the West will you believe me?"

"Yes, Master."

"Why?"

Abbie watched as Alex raised his head to look up at her. He had an innocent smile on his face and his clear green eyes looked at her with fondness. "Because my Master can never be wrong."

"You're so silly," Abbie said as she pinched Alex's cheeks. "Remember this Alex, I am just human. I make mistakes too."

"Master," Alex replied as he was being pinched. "You may not always be right, but you can never be wrong."

"Um? What does that mean?"

"The sun does not rise from the West, this much is true. However, if Master said that it rises from the West then I will believe it. Regardless if it was the truth or not."

'Is this what they called blind faith?' Abbie mused. Although she was flattered that Alex thought so highly of her, that firm belief was also a double-edged sword. She was afraid that if she told Alex to jump off the tallest building in the city, the boy would do her command with a smile on his face.

Abbie would never make an unreasonable command. However, she was afraid that Alex would take everything she said seriously.

"Alex, let's have a serious talk later."

"Understood, Master."

Alex knew what Abbie was thinking, but there was nothing he could do about it. As his Master, Abbie had full control over his life and death. He felt lucky that the one who summoned him was Abbie. If it were someone else, they might have already thrown him aside, or ordered him around like a slave.

If only Abbie knew how thankful Alex was that she was his master, she would have hugged the living shit out of him and kissed him to oblivion.
