GGS Tutorial [Part 1]

"Ok, just a few reminders before we start the tutorial," Alice said as she stood beside Aiden who was managing the control panel of the simulation room. "A day on Earth is equivalent to seven days in Edea. Don't worry, I made sure that you will be ejected from the dungeon on the seventh day whether you finished the mission or not."

"Edea sounds like a good place to take a vacation," Abbie commented with a smile. "Does it have hot springs? Beaches? Tourist attractions?"

"Of course, it's a fantasy world afterall," Alice answered. "It's a world beyond your wildest imagination. However, you don't have to worry about that. The tutorial will only send you to a low leveled dungeon with three floors. Your mission is to clear that dungeon in 1 week."

"What happens if we can't clear it?"

"Nothing happens. You will just be sent back here."

"Sounds good," Abbie nodded her head. "Are you ready, Alex?"

"I'm ready, Master."

"We're both ready, you can send us anytime."

Alice gave both of them a thumbs up. "Aiden and I will be monitoring your progress, if the situation suddenly becomes dangerous, we will pull you out immediately"

"Wait! What do you mean suddenly becomes dangerous?"

"You'll find out soon enough. See you in seven days."

The last thing that Abbie heard was Alice's carefree laughter before her vision turned completely white. During that time, Abbie felt like she was floating and being pulled in a certain direction. Although it was a weird feeling, Abbie didn't mind it. In fact, she was looking forward to it.

Like any girl her age, Abbie was interested in reading novels. Stories about transmigration, reincarnation, historical, and romance, were her favorite genres. She often dreamed about going to a fantasy world and being reborn in a drop-dead-gorgeous-sexy body. The type that would make all the men turn their heads and look at her with infatuated eyes.

She even dreamed about being the protagonist of a story, being able to experience true love while going on an adventure to save the world.

'Um? Isn't that what is happening right now?' Abbie thought. 'It's quite unfortunate that Alex isn't of legal age. Otherwise this would be the perfect love story!'

If Alex was of legal age then Abbie would be smiling ear to ear. Just imagining a handsome red-haired hunk that was always by her side, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, made the chubby girl giggle in excitement.

She even thought of a plan to visit all her "single" friends, and introduce them to Alex just to see the reaction on their faces. If Abbie were to really do this then she would, without a doubt, be labeled "Public Enemy Number One!" by her friends and acquaintances.

However, she didn't care! Just imagining the look of the guy that rejected her when he saw her walking hand in hand with an adult Alex made her feel smug. While Abbie was having her delusion, she suddenly felt her feet touch something solid.

The white vision disappeared and she found herself standing in a dark, and damp, place. The air hasd a musty smell to it which made Abbie wrinkle her nose. The first thing she did was inspect her surroundings to look for Alex.

Although the cave was a little dark, the ceiling has some crystals protruding out of it which gave off a subtle glow. The illumination was enough to allow Abbie to see her surroundings. She was relieved when she saw Alex was in the same place as her. The little boy had crouched down and seemed to be inspecting something.

"Did you find anything, Sherlock?"

"Sh-Sherlock? Who is this Sherlock, Master?"

"Don't mind it," Abbie said as she crouched beside Alex. Upon doing so, she noticed what the little boy was looking at. It was a set of footprints that were at least three to four inches long and two inches wide.

"Are you familiar with this set of footprints, Alex?"

"Yes, Master. If I'm not mistaken they are from goblins."

Abbie nodded her head. In most rpg games, goblins were considered low-tiered monsters. They were the perfect adversary for low-leveled adventurers.

"Have you ever seen a goblin before?" Abbie asked. "What do they look like? Is their skin color green? Do they have pointy nose? Do they capture and XXX women to give birth to goblin babies?"

Alex looked at Abbie with sparkling eyes. "Master, how come you are very knowledgeable about goblins? Does your world have them as well?"

"Sort of…"

"You're amazing, Master."

Abbie's lips curled up when she heard Alex praise her for being knowledgeable. Although she didn't want to brag, she used to own a monster encyclopedia. Unfortunately, she lent it to her big brother and the latter never returned it to her.

"Alex, I was wondering… can you defeat a goblin?" Abbie asked. This was an important question and she needed to know whether her Little Hero could handle a goblin by himself. If not, then she would be more than happy to assist him.

While she's not certain if a goblin was stronger than the thugs she beat up yesterday, she was confident that she would be able to protect herself if she had a weapon in hand. Luckily, Alice had added a set of golf clubs and five baseball bats in the items she sent her.

Abbie casually opened her I-Foam and took out a baseball bat. Among the five baseball bats, three were made of steel and two were made of wood. She decided to take out one of the wooden bats and gave it a few swings.

"Dang, I really feel like a game character right now," Abbie muttered.

Alex frowned when he heard his Master's words. Since he didn't want his Master to get the wrong idea he decided to tell her the truth.

"Master, this is not a game," Alex said firmly. "If you go to Edea with this mindset, you will only get hurt."

Abbie was shocked when he heard Alex's words. This was the first time that Alex used this kind of tone when addressing her. The little boy would always talk to her in a respectful manner, but this time, his voice carried a bit of disapproval.

"Um? What do you mean?" Abbie asked. "Isn't this whole thing a game?"

"Master, please give me your hand."

"Alright, here you go."

Abbie held out her hand towards Alex. The young boy reached out his hand and pinched the skin near her wrist. The sudden pain made Abbie pull her hand back and look at Alex with a frown. 'Why is Alex acting like this?'

"Does it hurt, Master?"

"Of course it hurts! Why did you suddenly do that?"

Alex looked at Abbie and his eyes were very serious. "Master, this world is as real as your own. Since you can feel pain it means that you can get hurt. If you get stabbed by a sword, you will die."

"W-What?!" Abbie exclaimed. She finally understood what Alex was trying to tell her. So this was the reason why Alice didn't tell her anything. The blonde beauty wanted her to have "hands on experience" in Edea.

"While I'm not a hundred percent sure, the reason why the power of Heroes is doubled during the MASTER MODE is because they need the extra boost to protect their Masters."

"You mean, if I die here, I really will die?" Abbie felt her scalp tingle. "You mean to say it will be Game Over when I die?"

"I don't know what this 'Game Over' that you speak of is, Master," Alex replied. With a brief flash of light his casual clothes disappeared and were replaced by his quilted padded armor. He unsheathed Durandal from its scabbard and held it firmly in his hand. "All I know is that it will really be over when Master dies. That's why, Master, please, don't die."
