GGS Tutorial [Part 2]

Abbie and Alex started to explore the dungeon. Since they had identified a goblin footprint, they knew what their opponents were. While the two were moving around in the dungeon, Alice and Aiden were monitoring their progress.

"Why didn't you add any stat and skill points to Alex?" Aiden asked the beautiful blonde sitting beside him. "Even if they enter the tutorial using Master Mode, it wouldn't make a difference. At most, Alex would only have the strength of a thirteen year old. What were you thinking?"

Aiden cast Alice a look of disapproval, but the latter only looked back at him as if he was an idiot.

"I want them to experience what it's like to fight without raising Alex's abilities," Alice answered with a casual smile. "Don't worry, I will message Abbie and allow her to distribute Alex's stat and skill points on the second day.

Alice looked at the screen in front of her, "For now, I want the two of them to understand the difference between someone without powers and someone who has gained them. Have you never heard the famous saying? Great powers require great responsibility."

"No," Aiden replied. "That saying doesn't exist in our world. In our world, Might is right."

"For now just watch. If they ever get into trouble, prepare to rescue them anytime."

"Good grief, you are a slave driver."

"If something happens to my Alex I'll make sure you will sleep in the dog house from now on," Alice smiled sweetly.

Aiden snorted and resumed his watch on the screen. Alice didn't need to tell him anything. He would make his move the moment Alex's and Abbie's lives were in mortal danger. There were two reasons why Alice decided to make Abbie and Alex take the tutorial using Master Mode.

The first reason was to give Alex some combat training. Although Alex's job description was a "fighter" he was far from being one. If Abbie was with him, he would put his life on the line to protect her.

The second reason was to make Abbie understand that this "game" could kill her. Alice was supposed to let her enter the tutorial a week before Edea opened. However, she changed her mind after the incident happened.

"Do your best, Abbie, Alex," Alice said softly as she focused her attention on the two people inside the dungeon.

-----

The dungeon that Abbie and Alex entered was like a maze, there were many twists and turns and, most of the time, they found themselves at a dead end. Abbie was carrying her I-Foam and was currently mapping the dungeon. The places they had already visited were visible on her GGS Map.

The name of the Dungeon was called "The Dungeon of Greed". Abbie didn't know who named the dungeon, but whoever it was, that person had a bad naming sense.

(A/N: *cough*)

"Master, I sense a presence ahead." Alex alerted Abbie which made the chubby girl stop in her tracks. "Let me check it first. You stay here, Master."

"Be careful, Alex."

"Un!"

Alex moved forward and peeked at the corner of the path they were taking. He saw a creature that was at least as tall as him. It has green skin, a pair of long pointy ears, and a grotesque appearance. It was none other than a goblin and it was alone.

The boy observed the creature for a while and noticed that it was armed with a wooden club. He gripped his sword tightly as he made a gesture for his master to come closer. Abbie approached Alex in a careful manner, limiting the sound of her footsteps. When she arrived beside him, she too took a peek and observed the creature that was blocking their path.

'So this is a goblin,' Abbie mused. 'It looks uglier in real life.'

Abbie felt a slight tug on her dress and saw Alex making a hand gesture for her to lower her head. It seemed that he wanted to whisper something in her ears.

"What do we do, Master?" Alex whispered. "Do we fight it or flee?"

"We fight," Abbie replied. "Since it is alone, we have a higher chance of beating it."

The two discussed their strategy in hushed whispers. In the end, Alex volunteered to fight the goblin alone while Abbie watched from the side. It didn't sit well with the chubby girl, but she respected Alex's decision and reluctantly agreed to his request.

The goblin was scratching its back as it stood in its position. This dungeon was only two months old, but it already has three floors. Its location was hidden in a valley far away from human civilization. In time, this dungeon would expand and become the breeding ground for many monsters.

Currently, the highest rank among the monsters inside the dungeon was a Goblin Shaman. It was the current "Boss" Monster inside the dungeon and was protected by a few dozen Hobgoblins. The Goblin Shaman ordered the goblins to patrol the different floors of the dungeon on a regular basis.

The goblin that Abbie and Alex found was one of the goblins assigned to guard the first floor of the Dungeon of Greed.

Abbie and Alex didn't know that the Goblin had already discovered them a few minutes ago. This particular goblin had a peculiar ability and that was its strong sense of smell. It was used to the smell of the dungeon and the moment it smelled something different, it knew that it was not alone.

Contrary to popular belief, Goblins are smart creatures. Although they look grotesque, they are very cunning. The goblin pretended to be oblivious and stood in place. It even deliberately let his back face Abbie and Alex's position to lower their guard.

It gripped its wooden club and waited. The smile on its ugly face grew more sinister with each passing second. It waited for the two prey behind its back to make their move. It was looking forward to enjoying the meal that had willingly wandered into its territory.
