Emperor Of The Culinary World [Part 1]

Yue was pushing a cart inside the supermarket. She was here to stock up on a few items like flour, baking soda, chocolates, and other food stuff that she planned to use in her baking sessions. The ice princess of the academy was feeling lonely because Alex was not around.

She never thought that a time would come when she would miss someone of the opposite gender. Yue could still remember the genuine happiness on Alex's face when he ate the cake she baked. There were plenty of men who had eaten her cooking. They also gave her praises but their cramped expressions and pale faces told her that they were just forcing themselves.

"I don't need insincere people," Yue muttered as she dropped a few boxes of cake flour in her shopping cart. 'I miss Alex. I wonder what he's doing right now?'

While she was deep in thought, the mobile phone in her pocket started to vibrate. Yue picked it up and looked at the caller ID. She calmly pressed the accept button when he saw her Aunt's name flashing on the screen.

"Hello?"

"Yue, are you free right now?"

"I am currently shopping for ingredients," Yue answered. "Did something happen?"

"Well, it's not urgent," Yue's aunt, Mary, said in a gentle manner. "An old friend is coming to visit me. He is a professional chef and I casually mentioned that you were very interested in cooking and baking. We are going to have dinner tonight, why don't you join us as well?"

Yue pondered for a while before agreeing to her Aunt's request. She didn't mind having dinner with her Aunt. It was much better than eating alone inside the girl's dormitory. After buying the things on her list, she went back to the girl's dormitory and took a shower.

Her Aunt had quite a few "old friends" and each of them were very influential in their own right. Although Yue was not really someone who liked to mingle with the upper echelons of society, she would still give her Aunt some face and act accordingly.

A car arrived in front of the girl's dormitory. Mary sent her butler to pick up Yue and escort her to the restaurant where they would be meeting her acquaintance. The moment Yue entered the restaurant, the eyes of the men locked unto her.

She was wearing a black floral dress. The skirt fell just below her knees and the dress style highlighted the curves of her body. It was the gift given to her by her Aunt on her birthday. However, there hadn't been an opportunity for her to wear it yet. Yue thought that now would be a good time to put it to good use and wore it so she could please her Aunt at the same time.

While the men were giving her looks of appraisal, Yue was busy looking for her Aunt.

"Over here." A familiar voice caught Yue's attention and she looked at the right corner of the restaurant. Mary was waving at her with a smile. Yue nodded her head and walked towards her Aunt.

"Please take a seat," Mary said as she helped her niece pull out the chair beside her. She recognized the dress that her niece was wearing and it made her very happy.

"Thank you," Yue replied with a smile. She then looked at the man sitting across the table and assumed that he was her Aunt's old friend. The burly man with graying hair looked at Yue with a smile. He was wearing black jeans and a black jacket. Yue didn't feel any malicious or perverted feelings coming from the middle-aged man and it put her mind at ease.

"Let me introduce you to each other," Mary nodded her head. She pointed at the man sitting across them. "This is my old friend, Kenneth Kurt. Just call him K."

Mary then looked at her niece and smiled. "This is my Niece, Ying Yue. Just call her Yue."

Yue nodded her head politely, "Nice to meet you, Mr. K."

"The pleasure is mine, Yue." Kenneth extended his hand for a handshake which Yue accepted with grace.

"Now that the two of you are acquainted, let's order our dinner," Mary said as she raised her hand to call the waiter.

"What would you like to order?" the waiter asked in a respectful manner.

"Give us your top six most recommended dishes," Mary answered. She was not really picky when it came to food. As long as it was edible, she was fine with it.

Yue and K didn't have any problem with the way Mary ordered and the waiter politely nodded his head after taking their order.

"Kenneth, I already told you on the phone earlier, but my niece loves to cook and bake," Mary chatted. "So far there have been no casualties because the infirmary at our school is well equipped with stomach medicines."

Yue looked at her Aunt with a pout, "Aunt, that was in the past. My cooking has drastically improved."

"Of course," Mary replied with a casual wave of her hand. 'Who are you kidding? My maid almost died after she gave your cooking a taste.'

Kenneth chuckled as he noticed the helpless look on Mary's face. In truth, he already knew about Yue's deadly cooking. Mary often complained to him over the phone about it. The middle-aged man looked at Yue with contemplation.

In truth, he was looking for a disciple to pass his cooking techniques to. However, he was also an agent of Exodia so finding a candidate to be a beta tester became his priority. A week had passed and he still hadn't found a suitable candidate.

While he was lamenting his bad luck, Mary gave him a call to invite him to dinner. Since he was feeling down, he decided to accept her offer to have a change of pace. He observed Yue and a thought crossed his mind.

'She might be a good candidate.Yue is good looking and she is passionate about food.'

These two things alone were enough to make Kenneth approve of her as his candidate. Also, she was also the niece of his good friend, Mary. That also meant that her background was not a problem.

While Kenneth was deep in thought, an excited voice brought him out of his stupor.

"Excuse me! Are you perhaps Kenneth Kurt? The Emperor of the Culinary World?"
