Combat Test (Xiao Yan)

After separating from Mu Yue, Xiao Yan followed the crowd of students until they reach the test site for spell cultivators. A teacher approached her when she arrived.

"Young lady, the principal said that you do not need to undergo a test. You can directly enter the special class." The teacher said to her.

"No, I want to do the test. My friend is doing it and so I will." Xiao Yan left the teacher and went near one of the stages.

"The principal was right." The teacher then went on one of the examiners and whispered something.

It was now the time for Xiao Yan to take the test. Her enemy was a Spell Cultivator with water affinity. A woman was waiting for her on the stage.

Her enemy has the advantage of combat experience, variety of skill, casting speed, and amount of spiritual energy. The teacher will only change the power of her spells as well as use only the spells that Qi Condensation cultivators can use. Xiao Yan has to end the battle quickly or she will lose due to the spiritual energy drain.

"I don't know why but someone approached me to make me your opponent. They even said that I should not hold back so I'll be using everything that I can that isn't against the rules. Good luck fighting water with fire." The woman said.

The bell rang and the woman instantly launched multiple water javelin against Xiao Yan. Xiao Yan then dodges them while preparing a spell.

"Fire Ball"

"Water Wall"

Two spells collided which cause an explosion. It caused a large amount of mist to appear in the stage hindering the view to a degree.

The woman has lost sight of Xiao Yan. She decided to wait for the mist to appear while on alert, ready to cast a defensive spell.

This gave Xiao Yan some time to prepare multiple spells. She made 5 'Fire Bolt' spells and launched them towards the woman. The woman sensed the incoming attack and cast a water shield to cover her body.

The mist then dissipated, revealing Xiao Yan to the woman. The woman launched multiple water bomb spells to attack Xiao Yan.

Xiao Yan tried to dodge the incoming spells, but the spells cover a large area so she did not have a choice but to cover her body with her spiritual energy to defend.

"Good reaction speed. Your suit of spiritual energy also has a good defense." The woman praised Xiao Yan.

"Your attack was also effective miss examiner. It drained almost all of my energy." Xiao Yan said.

Xiao Yan then launched a spell towards the woman.

"Fire Wall"

Flames quickly appeared on the woman's position and shot up to the air. The woman quickly backed off to avoid the spell. She then said, "A good decision to attack me while I'm casting spells, sadly your spell doesn't do much damage."

Before the spell disappeared, a 'Fire Ball' spell was launched toward the woman through the wall of fire. The woman was able to react in time to cover herself with a water shield. The spell exploded knocking back the woman for some meters.

Xiao Yan continues to launch Fire Bolts toward the woman. The woman casts a Water wall spell to defend against Xiao Yan's attack.

"Time to end this I guess, I'm sure you are almost at your limit." said the woman before sending multiple water bombs toward Xiao Yan.

Xiao Yan covered herself with spiritual energy to defend until she drained all of it. She took some damage from the explosions and is now drenched in water.

Xiao Yan was angry at her loss but she didn't show it on her face. The woman then cast a spell to dry Xiao Yan's clothes.

"You have good fighting skills and fast decision making. You are also not easily distracted by my attacks which already put you above the other students." The woman then wrote Xiao Yan's score on her notebook.

"Thank you for the praise miss examiner." Xiao Yan said while inwardly thinking, 'Damn it! I'm sure it's that old man who planned for this. Now I can't boast to Mu Yue. I have to take revenge for this matter.'

"Achoo" an old man who was sitting in a room sneezes.

Seeing this, the old man's subordinate asks, "Sir, Do you need some medicine?"

"No need, just report to me the interesting things that happened during the trials."
