Seniors Versus Juniors (5)

"Will this actually work?" Fei Hong wondered as he and Zheng Peng carried the 'special' item that Xiao Yan mentioned in their meeting.

Zheng Peng observed the item and stated, "Probably, it was commonly used for defense so it should work."

"Trust on her judgment. She got beaten up good yesterday so she will certainly use anything that can make her group win." Jun Qing said. They were currently going to the combat site after picking up the item from the warehouse.

After their gathering last night, Xiao Yan and Mu Yue quickly went to talk to the principal to prepare the items they were going to need for the fight. The two Body Cultivators were tasked to retrieve the item while Jun Qing tagged along.

The others were currently waiting in the site where the largest platform was. This was specifically made for team battles and has similar measurements to the one that is used in official tournaments.

"Xiao Yan, we brought the items you wanted!" Fei Hong yelled when they arrived at the site.

This attracted the attention of the other students. They looked towards the newcomers and instantly saw two circular shields that covered the body of the two students.

This caused quite the shock as it was rare to bring shields in a cultivator fight. They are impractical as they limit their agility. Bashing with a shield also doesn't do much damage as they don't use any type of energy.

"Good, the size is decent too. We should be ready to fight them now." Xiao Yan said when she observed the shields. She then faced the other group and asked, "Is it fine for us to use these, seniors?"

"Sure! They could classify as 'weapons' so it isn't against the rules." Hui Yin replied.

The two groups went towards the platform as they waited for the principal's mark.

"The person will be eliminated if he/she concedes, was knocked unconscious, drained, went out of bounds or their spiritual energy that covers their body broke. A team will win if they eliminated every single member of the other team."

"This is a friendly match and I expect you all to know how to control yourselves. The seniors cannot use any techniques but they don't need to limit the use of energy. The battle begins when this coin lands on the floor." The principal declared as he tossed a coin upwards.

When the coin landed, Xiao Yan's group quickly moved to their respective positions. They followed their plan as Fei Hong and Zheng Peng were at the front, holding their shields. Li Jie was behind the two while Xiao Yan and Mu Yue were further at the back.

Mu Yue was not holding a sword as it was currently sheathed and placed on her waist. Both hands were necessary for a Spell Cultivator to cast spells. One of the hands 'holds' the spells while the other provides the energy.

The other team went with a combination of one Body Cultivator, three Weapon Cultivators, and one Spell Cultivator. They didn't bother making a formation as most of them charged except Hui Yin, who was their Spell Cultivator.

Both sides launched spells towards each other. As a handicap, Hui Yin was only allowed to use tier-1 spells. However, even if she only used these spells, it was still stronger than the spells that could be cast by Qi Condensation Cultivators.

Hui Yin was a Water Spell Cultivator so she launched 'Water Bomb' Spells toward the other group. Mu Yue was assigned to intercept them so she only casts 'Ice Shard' spells to counter. Meanwhile, Xiao Yan sent her 'Fire Ball' spells toward the approaching melee attackers.

The other team treated this as a proper fight so they made sure to get away from the point of impact. They only suffered minimal damage compared to taking the spells head-on.

'Now they act in a normal way. I wanted them to be shameless!' Xiao Yan thought as she hoped they wouldn't dodge.

"Ice Wall"

A wall of ice appeared between the two groups before they met. This gave time for Mu Yue to switch to a sword.

"Li Jie, take care of Senior Cheng Boqin. I'll intercept Senior Jian Yun!" Mu Yue yelled as she joined the frontline. This was what they planned. Li Jie still lacks speed so he was assigned to deal with Cheng Boqin.

"Got it!" replied Li Jie. They were only tasked to intercept so they still stayed near the group.
