Going to the Auction

The tournament ended with Zongying winning the top rank, just a few points ahead of the second school. They won both junior and senior tournaments which was pretty impressive.

The principal did not boast about this. One must be humble so it wont back fire to you. This was what he learned after being stressed of a chance of not winning the tournament.

Besides that, he was proud of his students. Although they were called the No. 1 school, this title changes almost yearly. Last year, they won the senior tournament which gave the school to the right to bear the title.

They did not win the junior's but all school leaders came to a consensus that the tournament of the seniors matters the most. The junior's tournament relies more in luck as getting a student with a good potential give him the advantage of a higher cultivation. So winning the senior's tournament gives the school the No. 1 title while the junior's gives some reputation.

It was already going dark when the tournament ended. The staffs decided that the rewards would be given the next day. They still announced the winners one last time to give them their fame.

Mu Yue and Xiao Yan were currently with the principal, on their way to the auction house. The grand auction will happen in some hours and the principal decided to tag along, not to buy stuff, but to guard the two ladies.

Compared to the auction that happened in Yan City, a lot of influential and strong cultivators will attend here. Some times, there will also be celestials. A great disparity if compared to Yan City's as the strong figures there can be counted in one hand, and they don't even bother attending as they leave it to others.

Mu Yue was excited to go to the auction that she forgot that she still needed to eat. She was embarrassed when her stomach growled just as they received the key to their VIP room.

"Umm… I-I still did not eat dinner…" Mu Yue explained.

"No problem. A perk of having a VIP room is that we can ask the auction house to serve us some food." Xiao Yan said. She then called a servant and gave her instructions.

"Would it bother you when we are using you card to be in a VIP room, Xiao Yan? We could just go to the seats on the ground floor."

"Don't worry about it, Mu Yue. I haven't told you yet so I think it's time to tell you. Actually, our family own a part of Treasure Pavilion. My card is one of the five that my family have the right to distribute. Your father also has one, given to him by my grandfather."

Mu Yue was shocked by this. She turned to her father to ask but he only smiled smuggly and flashes a card at her.

"That's not the card, old man…" Xiao Yan said while facepalming.

Zhi Li froze and observed the card he was holding. He quickly hid it away, afraid that somebody would look at it. He then searches his pockets, not finding the card, he looked inside his storage rings.

"Ah, here it is. It's been a while since I used it and mistook it as the earlier card since they have the same colors."

Mu Yue observed the card and compared it to Xiao Yan's. They had the same design, except the two of them had different names engraved.

She then wondered about something amd asked, "Won't there be a lot of people who can use VIP rooms? What if there are more people who use them than the room themselves? Also, there are names engraved on the card but how will they know that the card is owned by that person and not stolen?"

As a part of a family that own a part of the Treasure Pavilion, Xiao Yan was taught of these when she was younger.

"There are a lot of people who have the cards. In total there are 50 cards. Most auctions have at least 10 VIP rooms."

"The quality of the rooms depends on where the auction house is placed. This means that certain VIP rooms require a better card. My card is the second most valuable. The first is the owner cards, a total of 7 cards are available."
