Fighting the Bandits

'Hm... this would be a good practice for Mu Yue but looking at their cultivation, she might have some difficulties. As for their numbers, I can try to separate them.' Xiao Yan thought.

It would be good for Mu Yue to experience killing as soon as possible. Xiao Yan could have just got some weak criminals and have her fight them but that isn't the same experience as fighting in a life and death battle. Now with a plan, Xiao Yan first made sure to tell Mu Yue.

She whispered, "Prepare yourself, I might have you fight someone on the 3rd step of Qi Condensation stage."

Mu Yue was first startled but nodded after. It would be beneficial for her to know if she could fight those in a higher cultivation level.

When Xiao Yan saw the approval of Mu Yue, she faced the bandits and yelled, "Bandits?! Just give us your storage rings and we will leave you alone!."

The man with a scar frowned. Did these brats think they were joking around? Before he can say something, the last guy who was already annoyed by his orders was furious and lashed out, "We already gave you mercy yet you two chose the hard way. Don't blame me on what I plan to do!"

Xiao Yan saw the guy charging towards her and mumbled, "Perfect..."

She tapped Mu Yue's left shoulder and whispered, "Ready yourself."

Mu Yue quickly unsheathes her sword. Then something was thrown towards the group of bandits and smokes came out of it.

The bandits were startled and prepared their defensive stances. Their vision was blocked and they only heard a girl's voice saying, "Defeat those bandits. Leave the front one for Mu Yue!"

Some figures were seen jumping to the smoke followed by the cries of the bandits. The guy who charged out stopped and looked at his back, only to see smokes that blocked his view of their group.

"What the hell?!" He blurted out as they were not expecting this. He only heard his leader shouting, "Ambush!". He gulped and he planned to run when he felt someone closing towards his back.

Mu Yue's sword hit the guy's saber. Although the guy was distracted, he was still a Foundation Establishment Cultivator of the 3rd step. Coupled with his experience of being a bandit, his senses were sharpened more than some of the other cultivators that are stronger than him.

"A little girl wants to fight me?" He said as he slashed with his saber which Mu Yue dodged.

One thing that Mu Yue learned about fighting other cultivators was they all talk while in battle. She just can't seem to understand what would be the benefit of doing so. She always tries not to waste any action and she only talks when the distance was far and both parties have stopped what they were doing.

Xiao Yan also joined the fun. She saw a bandit coming out of the smoke and chose him as a target. She already prepared as much 'Fire Bolt' spells as she could when the battle began so she launched all of it toward the poor guy.

She can control 5 of them, but they were now stronger than the spells she was using before her advancement. This was because advancing will make someone's spiritual energy to be denser.

The bandit's defenses were already in the low from fighting. When the spells hit him, the spiritual energy that covered him broke and some flames managed to burn his clothes.

He was startled and looked around. Flames then appeared on his feet.

"AghhH!!!!"

'Dumbass' Xiao Yan inwardly mocked when she saw the bandit being burned. The bandit managed to get away but Xiao Yan made sure to keep on attacking until the bandit collapsed, dead. The bandit only managed to catch a glimpse of Xiao Yan before his eyes closed.

"Tsk, he should be an inexperienced fighter. I did attack in the blindspot but taking that long to spot me deserves death." Xiao Yan mumbled. She then observed the battlefield and saw the smoke dispersing.

Some bandits died while a lot of them were knocked out. Her subordinates tied their bodies to the tree. This was what they usually do as they know that their young miss would like some enjoyment.

Xiao Yan glanced towards Mu Yue's direction and saw that she was having a hard time. She can tell that Mu Yue should have enough strength to defeat her opponent but she lacked experience.
