The World

"Mu Yue, do you think our cultivation speed is fast?" Xiao Yan asked.

"Why are you asking me that? But if I was to answer, I guess yes."

"Do you have any reason why you answered like that?"

"We are faster than Liu Yang and the others. We were also one of the students that have the highest cultivation when we joined the tournament."

Currently, the two were in the library. As usual, Xiao Yan would be the one teaching Mu Yue about all the things she knew.

"That is right. With our talent and the resources we have, as well as the cultivation method we both are using, having fast cultivation is normal. Although my cultivation method will only have most of the speed boost when I'm in the Core Formation Stage, it can still rival those that are here in this continent." Xiao Yan explained.

Mu Yue then pointed out, "You mentioned 'this continent', are there other continents?"

"Yes there are, and that's what I am going to tell you. I have asked you if we have a fast cultivation and that is right. However, it will slow down when we reach the Core Formation Stage. You might not be affected by much since you mostly cultivate using the moon's energy, but the others are not as fortunate as you." Xiao Yan replied.

The continent they were at can be called an island if compared to the others. Of course, it was still considered a minor continent. The only problem was that the spiritual energy here was thinner if compared to the central lands.

"Then does that mean, those that live near the center can easily achieve higher cultivation levels?" Mu Yue asked.

Xiao Yan nodded, "The closer you are to the center, the more celestials you will encounter. This is because celestials have bodies that are highly dependent on spiritual energy. If they go to, for example, this land, they could only stay for a short time before they need to go back."

"Then why is it that the closer you are to the center, the denser the spiritual energy?"

"Do you know where most spiritual energies came from?"

"No, but if I have to guess, it should be the sun and moon."

"Those are one of the sources but not all people would be able to use them. The real reason lies in the world tree that is in the center. The tree provides spiritual energy which it spreads to all directions. The closer you are to the tree, the denser the spiritual energy will be."

"Is there only one world tree?"

"Only one in the records."

"What happens if it disappears, or gets destroyed?"

"No one knows. That's why each strong groups of the human race, even the beast race, sent guardians for the tree. No one shall be using the spiritual energy of the tree within a 10km radius of it."

"Then why are we even fighting the beast race?"

"That is something I do not know..."

No one knows or it might have faded throughout history, the reason why humans and beast fought on the last war. They just knew that since it began, the humans and beasts hate each other's existence until the end of the war.

"I have mentioned that those in the central lands would have a higher cultivation level than those here, age-wise. However, it does not mean that they are stronger than those that are from here. They had an easy life, which means they lack experience if compared to those who had to work hard. What the locals here lack in cultivation, they try to improve their strength by enhancing their technique and skills. It is common to see a cultivator, winning a fight against someone stronger than him. The difference could just be 1 step, to even 1 whole stage."

"Then where do you live, Xiao Yan? You are not from this land, right? How did you even arrive here?" Mu Yue asked.

Xiao Yan replied, "I'm from the central land. The one where the world tree is located. There are also portals, which can only be accessed by certain groups. Luckily, my family has a great influence so I did not have a problem going here."

"Will you go back there after you reach the Core Formation stage?"

"Yeah, I will also make sure to bring you with me. The principal will have to become a celestial and he would need to go back to the central lands. I can't leave you here alone."
