Details of Some Races

"Traveling through the ocean will at least take 2 days, and that's only if we do not encounter anything unexpected."

Not much is known of the ocean by the land dwellers because of the dangers of being here. Different kinds of strong beasts exist here. It wouldn't be a problem if it's just like that but these beasts are in their territory. Someone who lives on land will struggle to fight a beast in the water.

"How does the blood race compare to the human race?" Mu Yue asked as she was curious.

The dragon then replied, "We are better individually than humans, but we lose if it's a race war. We often have wars against some human kingdoms or even coalitions, but those are manageable. You could say, our race is quality, the human race is quantity."

"But I always thought that no matter the number of enemies, so long as the difference in power is a lot, a strong individual can wipe out an army."

"That is true but an individual can get tired, and that will give an opportunity for that person's enemies to kill him. Also, we are better in quality generally but there are talented humans that are on par with ours, which makes it so that we cannot bear to fully commit to a race war."

"Race war, is that like the war between the beasts and humans that happened ages ago?"

"Yes."

Mu Yue talked with the dragon and gained a lot of new knowledge. One of which is the beast race.

From weak to the strongest, there are always beasts everywhere. Even those that do not have spiritual power counts as one. Because of this, 'Beast Race' differs from 'The Beasts'.

'The Beasts' refers to all beasts, no matter how strong. On the other hand, 'Beast Race' only refers to the beasts that have human-like intelligence, which enabled them to form a community.

The dragon then added, "Out of all the races, the term beast race is the most confusing. Land and ocean, strong and weak, sentient or not, and the subraces, so many categories which you can separate the beast race."

"Then since you are a dragon, were you part of the beast race? Or does the blood race have beasts." Mu Yue asked. The dragon is undoubtedly part of the blood race because of the connection of the bloodline, but she knows that the dragon race, is part of the beast race.

"I was, but I was converted. I am no longer part of the beast race nor the dragon race. I can call myself a dragon but not part of the dragon race. I am now from the blood race."

"Conversion?"

"It is the act of making a member of another race to the blood race. However, this act will only be done by a strong member of the blood race to a worthy individual."

"Don't you miss your past race?" Mu Yue was of the human race. She already has human acquaintances, and now that she knows she is not human but a member of the blood race, things might become problematic.

"I was converted when I was dying and it was at the time that I cannot die yet. The blood race gave me a chance, although I had to stop being part of the dragon race, it was all worth it. Do you know that dragons have it hard during the near end of the race war?"

Dragons were known for their power and toughness of their bodies. Out of all the powerful beasts, the dragons were the most favorite target of the human race. Blood, meat, bones, skin, organs, core, horns... Every single part is precious.

"Because of the worth of our corpses, some weaker dragon gets hunted. At that time, it was my duty to guard a group of children. When we were being pursued, I split off to fight the pursuers in order to buy time, with fighting and even my death. Yet even when I was defeated, they ignored me and went chasing after the kids."

"Then a wandering member of the blood race asked if I want to be converted. I accepted and went on a rampage. Hmm... I should be in the records of the humans, I wonder what random name I got from them."
