|Rose's P.O.V|
The weather seemed to take a complete turn as the sky was suddenly sprawled in black clouds and erupted in heavy cold rain, followed by a loud grumbling in the sky. Some might find this to be the perfect weather to snuggle in your bed with a blanket and a cup of coffee or hot chocolate and get lost in a book because honestly, what else was better than that?
But sadly, I currently didn't have a bed or a room as some chemically retarded idiot decided it would be a lovely idea to trash Laura and I's dorm. I almost cried at the thought of what I was missing out on. I could be sitting there reading and getting lost in someone's else's interesting life. Reading gives us some place to go when we have to stay where we are.
"Look, I'm sorry girls, I'm very busy right now and probably wont be free for a week, so in the meantime, share a dorm with someone else whilst I sort out a problem and then I can deal with the issue of your destroyed dorm. I'll promise you I'll find out who is responsible for it and pay for every damage caused." My dad apologises with sympathy as he packs up his desk that was clattered with tons of papers.
"Its okay." I shrug, not wanting him to stress out even more.
So Laura decided to share a dorm with Angel since shes also friends with Angels room mate which was great for her. Just ditching me like this like I'm something with no feelings. Its okay. I love being abandoned. I mean, who doesn't?
The problem was that there were no other spare dorm rooms as this is a very prestigious boarding school with a waiting list that was quite literally longer than my life. Meaning that every spot was taken up and you basically have to be a rich nerd to get in. It was hard to get in this boarding school with a scholarship as rich parents obviously pay more for their children to ensure a spot which I guess might not be fair for some people as it all depends on your wealth. Though if you do fail a class, you'll be kicked out and another student can be given a chance. I guess that was fair.
I groan as I tug at my hair in irritation during Chemistry class. Kyle stared at me oddly as he contemplated if he should risk asking why I had messed up my hair to mimic an out of control birds nest.
"What do I do? I'm gonna be homeless for a whole week!" I exclaim dramatically. "And it's so cold and practically raining elephants outside."
"Don't you know any other females in this school?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.
I huff out. "Well yeah, but as class mates only. I don't trust them near my unconscious self! I mean just because they are females, doesn't mean they are not capable of murder. I am not risking my life with a bunch of crazy girls who take too damn long in the bathroom just to apply their endless amount of foundation layers and all that other crap they splat onto their faces. I would rather share a dorm with a stinky and smelly guy!"
I don't think he knew I was being sarcastic with my idea of sharing a dorm with the male species.....but it seemed to excite Kyle...
"Well, you can always share with me. Malcolm wont mind and you trust him don't you?"
"Get rid of that smirk, mister. I will not share it with you! And besides, as if my dad would even let."
"It was a suggestion." He shrugs, leaning back into his seat as he writes down an answer on the worksheet we were given. "But I guess its okay if you end up sleeping in the corridors like a homeless person where you will freeze to death and might even encounter Charlie the ghost." He whispers the last bit.
"Who the fuck is Charlie?"
"I'll tell you tonight in our very own sleepover!" He grins wickedly as he packs his stuff when the bell rang.
-
"I don't wanna share a dorm with Kyle." I grumble angrily, staring at the ground. "I don't trust him."
"At least I'm there, trust me, we'll have a blast!" Malcolm chuckles, grabbing hold of my palm and dragging me towards his dorm after we had dinner.
"What about my clothes?"
"You can borrow mine." Kyle says as soon as I enter, throwing me a pair of sweat pants and a jumper. I was too slow on reflex, resulting in being whacked by his clothes right in the face.
I glare at him as I enter the bathroom to take a shower and change out of my clothes. After I was done, I shiver as I make my way out standing near the heater as the boys clean up their messy dorm with a sheepish smile on their faces which had me rolling my eyes.
"So." Kyle grins, rubbing his hands together after placing pillows and blankets on the carpeted floor near the heater. "Shall I tell you the story of Charlie?"
We all settle down where I was forced to sit next to Kyle and share the one big blanket because apparently they didn't have spares. Which kinda made sense because why would they have spares...
"I don't think I want to hear this lame ass sto-" I was rudely interrupted.
"Well, legend has it that a little boy is seen roaming these halls and corridors at night, looking for his next victim. He has frightened many innocent souls and they all die before they get a chance to tell their story. He was known as Charlie."
I roll my eyes. "Why is there a little kid in this boarding school? You have to be at leas-"
"Did I ask you to interrupt?" Kyle questions quite rudely might I add. Malcolm lifts his head from his phone and snickers. "Anyways, I'm sure you've heard of Georgia?"
"Uhm...no and I really don't ca-" Again with the interruption!
"Well Georgia was the only person who survived long enough to share her story of...." He looks to his left then right before leaning in to whisper in my ear. "The story of Charlie the cannibal."
"Stop being ridiculo-"
"It was a cold and dark night, rain pouring and thunder roaring just like tonight. An owl hooting on a nearby tree as the wind howled loudly almost like a warning. Georgia was still up, having been studying in the library till very late. She was on her way back to her dorm when suddenly, the lights in the corridors all blacked out and there she stood in the darkness. Alone. The only source of light was the occasional flashing of lightning.
"She shivered when she suddenly felt like there was someone watching her intensely and when the flash of lightning struck, she screamed when she saw a little kid standing right in front of her with a wicked grin that dripped blood, but disappeared the second the light died out.
"Petrified, she backed away slowly, arms out in defence in front of her as she desperately tried to see anything. Only as she took a few steps backwards, she bumped into something that suddenly let out an ear-piercing scream and cry. The cries and screams got louder, and louder and louder until..."
BANG
I scream out in terror when there was a sudden roar of thunder and the lights blacked out leaving me breathing heavily as I clutched onto Kyle tightly.
"Charlie then leaped onto Georgia and began to eat and chew on her arm, devouring her blood and flesh as he tore through her savagely! He had managed to bite off both arms before she kicked him off and ran away. She had told what happened to her friend but died only two minutes later..."
"Stop it please!" I beg, hiding my face in his chest which started shaking from his laughter.
"Chi chi, are you really scared?"
"He's coming, Charlie's coming!" I panic, trying to cover my head with the blanket.
"Rose, he's joking. That's not real." Malcolm soothes, though I could very well hear the laughter in his voice.
"How did he know the lights would black out then?" I panic, practically sitting on Kyle's lap.
"It's called the news, babe. They mentioned a heavy storm tonight." Kyle chuckles, rubbing my back soothingly.
This was why Laura sometimes got annoyed at me, it was because I would never watch a horror or thriller movie with her. I wad deathly afraid of this kinda stuff partially because I do believe in ghosts and all that paranormal shit.
"That's not funny!" I mutter, smacking his chest.
"Fine fine, I'll tell you a better and more....G-rated story. One for scaredy cats like you."
"No! You're the worst story teller ever." Despite my words, he still continued like the jerk he is.
"There was a man who one day, his wife who had really long hair, came up to him and asked him to buy her a comb for her hair to grow well and be well groomed. The man felt very sorry and said no and explained how that he didn't even have enough money to fix the strap of his watch that had just broken. So the wife did not insist on her request."
"The man went to work the next day and passed by a watch shop, sold his damaged watch at a low price and went to buy a comb for his wife. He came home in the evening with the comb in his hand, ready to give it to her but was surprised when he saw his wife with very short cut hair. She had sold her hair and was holding a new watch that she had got for her husband."
Kyle was staring ahead at the heater with a small smile on his lips as he seemed to be lost in his thoughts. I had found this story to be beautiful that I couldn't help it when I let out an "Awwh."
"Booooring." Malcolm faked yawned as he snuggled deeper into his blanket, catching both our attention.
"You're boring." I snap back though I must admit, was a very lame comeback.
"Come on, let's go to sleep." Kyle says tiredly, yawning and rubbing his eyes as he adjusts the pillows.
"What....you mean next to you?" I question with wide eyes.
"No, outside next to Charlie." He says sarcastically, grabbing my arm and dragging me down beside him. He then snakes his hand around my waist and pulls me closer to his body where my back met his front. The warmth that radiated off his body had me sighing in content as I turn around and face him, snuggling closer to him.
"Night Chi chi." He whispers, placing a gentle kiss on my forehead.
"Goodnight." I mumble back, my eyes growing heavy as the darkness consumed me.

I do not take credit for the second story about the man and his wife, I found that on the internet HOWEVER, the story of Charlie the cannibal is mine- I made up all of it
