|Rose's P.O.V|
I stretch my arms above my head letting out a yawn as I stand up to stretch the rest of my aching body. Another yawn escapes my mouth as I pack up my books and stationary and make my way out of the library.
That was a good study session, I think to myself as I check the time on my phone. My eyes suddenly widen in surprise. Okay, maybe too good.
I cant believe I sat in the library studying for four hours straight!
I couldn't wait to get into bed and sleep till noon. Only as I walked down the corridor, the wind howled outside as droplets of rain hit the window harshly to my left. I jump as lighting strikes, causing the lights to black out. My breathing and heart rate accelerates tremendously as I wait for my eyes to adjust to the darkness.
This particular moment, for some weird and inconspicuous reason, seemed familiar. Almost like a déjà vu...
"Ah!" I let out a terrified shriek as I felt a small gust of wind past me almost like someone walked by me quickly.
"Who's t-there?" I questions stupidly. I then thought back to all the times the stupid protagonist of most horror films, asking the dumbest questions through a life or death situation. Just bloody run.
Why must I end up in such situation? Oh no... Does that mean that I'm the protagonist in this horror movie....?
I tried to calm and even my breathing but it failed when I felt as though someone was staring right at me. A shiver unconsciously makes its way down my spine as I felt the goosebumps arise on my arms and on the back of my neck.
A strike of lighting suddenly hits the earth, illuminating the corridor for a split second before it dies out but it only needed a second for me to see a little kid in front of me with hollow black eyes and a wicked blood dripping smile standing right in front of me.
I let out a blood curdling scream as I back away, ready to make a dash to somewhere as far as possible in this pitch black darkness but was caught off guard when I bumped into something. Or well more like someone.
What ever it is that I bumped into, suddenly lets out a loud wail of shrieks and cries. I cover my ears screaming as well. The noise was hurting my ears and my heart was thumping wildly as the little kid continued to release the ear piercing screams.
Suddenly, there was nothing but silence. The only sound really heard was the now soft patters of rain against the windows.
Why hadn't my eyes adjusted to the dark yet?
I begin to panic as I try to make my way back to my dorm room but was suddenly attacked by a small yet strong being which managed to knock me to the ground.
Another flash of lighting stroke, revealing the monster on top of me. I let out another loud shriek which hurt my throat and begin to aimlessly throw punches to the horrible beast pinning me down.
"STOP IT! PLEASE LET ME GO."
"Rose.."
"NO STOP IT."
"Calm down!"
"DON'T EAT ME!"
"Wake up!"
"NOOOO PLEASE. ISN'T ONE ARM ENOUGH FOR YOU?"
"Dammit Rose, wake up!"
"I DONT TASTE GOOD, I ASSURE YOU PLEASE!"
"For gods sake, wake up!"
"ITS BAD TO EAT PAST NINE AT NIGHT, PLEASE GET OFF ME!"
"WAKE UP!"
I gasp as I sit up, feeling hot and sweaty. I tried to calm my racing heart as I look around noticing both Kyle and Mal watching me with concerned faces.
I suddenly glare at Kyle. "You idiot! I lost an arm because of you." Tears slowly slipped down my cheek as I aim to punch Kyle.
"What are you on about? Your arms are fine." He says, looking amused.
I stop and look down and notice that my hands are in fact still intact to my body. I cautiously move them.
I rub my face, feeling exhausted and angry. "Stupid squashed pigeon!"
"Did you have a nightmare about Charlie the cannibal?" Kyle questions with a grin.
"No. It was a nightmare about you!" I mutter grumpily.
He chuckles and pulls me in for a hug, the warmth radiating off him seemed to provide me with comfort and protection.
"I'm sorry Chi chi." He whispers, placing a soft kiss on my forehead.
Despite the fact that I was furious at him for telling me such an absurd and twisted story, I felt more calm and relieved at the warmth and comfort he was currently providing me.
"Go back to sleep." His soft murmurs, then places a soft and gentle kiss on my forehead.
I never thought sleeping could be such a beautiful and blissful thing. I feel so refreshed and relaxed and the worries of waking up early seemed to be long forgotten at first until I was suddenly suspicious of the amount of sleep I was currently getting.
It seemed too good to be true.
My eyes flutter open quickly as I grab my phone from beside me and check the time. "Oh no... Oh please no no no no no no don't be real please be a nightmare..." I whisper to myself as the numbers 10:45 am flashed on the screen, nearly blinding me mind you.
"Kyle wake up! Wake up you piece of rotten candy, we're LATE!" I shriek in horror as I attempt to get up quickly only to wobble and feel dizzy.
"Huh?" He questions in confusion which was cute and adorable how he rubbed his eyes, still looking around like a lost puppy but there was no time for that!
"We're like nearly three hours late you squashed octopus!"
"Oh shit!" He curses and gets up too quickly, looking dizzy for a second too.
Never stand up quickly when you just woke up.
"Where is Malcolm? Why didn't he wake us up?" Kyle shot out angrily as he took off his pants and put on his jeans with no shame.
I shrug pulling my skirt up on top of my pants then pulling my pants down and I could see Kyle had an amused look on his face.
"That was clever." He chuckles.
"Well obviously girls are clever when it comes to thinking quickly whilst around pervs." I scoff brushing my hair with my hands to somewhat have it looking decent then putting it up in a pony tail and rushing to the bathroom to brush my teeth with my fingers.
After we were done, we both bolt out the door and down the corridor to our second period seeing as we missed the first one.
We stop right outside our chemistry class and I look over to him. "Knock on the door." I whisper, nudging his arm.
"No, you knock!" He whispers back.
"Dude! Hurry up, we're already late!" I grit out harshly.
"Yeah but we don't have an excuse."
"Then make one up!"
"Me? I thought you were the clever one who can think of something 'quickly'."
My left eye twitches. "Shut up and knock on the door and apologise with a reasonable excuse!"
"How long are you two going to stand there bickering for?" The teachers voice booms as she opens the door, staring at us both with an unimpressed look.
"Uhm well, we're sorry we're late but you see, Kyle was having an allergic reaction to..." I look over at him, in hopes of him helping me out here but he only grins.
Stupid butt crack!
"To?" The teacher raises an eyebrow.
"To....Well you see, he forgot he was lactose intolerant, which is stupid if you ask me, and so he had a pretty bad morning. Of course I, being a good friend, helped him through this tough situation and now he still has a bit of a bad stomach but he's feeling better." I attempt to explain only I was graciously greeted by a deadly glare.
"Detention! Both of you." She roars and clacks her way into the classroom where we both walk in with shame. I smile awkwardly at the class who seemed to be struggling to keep in their giggles.
Well that was embarrassing. My story was fool proof! Why didn't she fall for it?
After chemistry had ended, I walk to the cafeteria to eat something seeing as my next class doesn't begin till an hour and the fact that I didn't have breakfast this morning.
After buying my food and looking around for somewhere to sit, my eyes land on Malcolm who thought he looked invisible hiding behind a textbook.
I stomp my way over to him and after gently putting my food on the table, I smash my hands in front of him on the table. I ignore the stinging sensation from the impact and focus my gaze on the nervous boy with a sheepish smile.
"Explain yourself, you pathetic muggle!"
"I tr-"
"Shut it! What reason was good enough to not wake me up? I ended up getting a detention because of you!" I point my finger at him as I give him my most lethal glare.
"You scratched me when I tried to wake you up!" He huffs out, pointing to the red claw marks on the side of his cheek.
"I..What? No I didn't. Stop accusing me of such a heinous act!" I say baffled.
"You are wild and dangerous! That's the last time I ever attempt to wake you up." Mal argues back, looking as if he wants to whack me with the textbook.
"You are still going to fix this! I am not, I repeat NOT wasting a Friday afternoon in detention when I could be eating." I growl in his face.
"Guess what Chi chi, we don't have to attend the detention." Kyle's familiar voice rings in my head as I process the news.
"What? Really, How!?"
"They got a new assistant nurse that works with your mum and I managed to convince her to write a sick note to say that I really was sick."
"Oh yes! FOOD HERE I COME!" I cheer and do a little dance.
"You're welcome. No really, you didn't have to thank me. I mean it really. No stop-" Kyle blabbers to himself with an irritated look.
"What the heck is wrong with you?" I question, trying to hide a smile.
"You do this to me Chi chi. You do this."
"Alright? So the substrate binds to this specific enzyme in the active site forming an..."
"Enzyme-substrate complex?" Angel answers with hesitance and I reply with a smile.
"Yeah you got it!" I grin, turning the page of my biology textbook.
As promised, I was tutoring Angel on biology like we agreed and she seemed to be a very fast learner. We were currently in her dorm room as mine is obviously trashed with broken sharp objects everywhere. My father is still yet to fix and replace everything as he said he was very busy this week.
Laura and Angel's dorm mate were out together somewhere so we had the room to our selves where the silence and peace here is beautiful.
"Alright, so what other part did you need help with?" I question, flicking through my notes.
However, my hand suddenly stops when she puts her soft thin finger on top of mine. I could feel her gaze on me deep and intense. My eyes remain glued on my book in front of me.
"Rose..." Her soft angelic voice murmurs.
I realised that her voice is now a lot closer. I slowly lift my head up and turn it to face her. "You uhm... You.." I clear my throat. "You know the process of photosynthesis right?"
This question seemed to catch her off guard as she suddenly blinks and slowly scuttles back a little. "Err, yeah. I do." She runs her hand through her blond waves and breathes out.
"Great! Just continue revising what you learnt today and you should be fine for the upcoming test." I smile at her then begin packing up my stuff and she too helps.
"Thanks for...Uh, you know, helping at all." She mutters softly.
"No problem. Don't hesitate to ask if you find it hard to understand anything else."
She smiles and gently grabs me in for a hug. "You're such a good friend. Thank you."
I make my way out of her dorm and towards Malcolm and Kyle's, feeling tired and exhausted. But most of all, a little awkward.
She was behaving so strange...
Knocking on the door, Kyle opens it and pulls me in to embrace me in a hug. He plants a soft kiss on the sensitive spot on my neck, causing a pleasurable shiver to make its way down my spine.
I pull back and smile shyly as my cheeks heat up. I avoid his eyes feeling like a love sick potato, that is until something shocking caught my attention.
"What the fuck Kyle!?" I gasp out in horror with eyes wide open.
