Where's the armor

Chapter 28

7:30 am

(Ivan's POV)

My body jolts up as a ring of a bell bounced off the walls. Wood scraped as it moved across the floor. I reluctantly move the floor above me and climb out of the hole. People were groaning as they rose from their hole. The new leader of the cabin waited by the door as he waited for everyone to crawl out from their holes. Once everyone was out, he walked out the door without saying a word. Everyone followed after him, most of them grumbling. I followed after them without hesitation.

A wave of heat hit my body as I stepped outside. Why is it so hot? I grudgingly walked behind my siblings. As I followed behind them I notice how wet, and dirty my shirt was. The shirt was drenched with sweat, there were small specks of dirt around my torso. I really want to take a shower, or brush my teeth. I feel so dirty wearing this shirt. I feel someone tap my shoulder, I peek over my shoulder and see a teenage boy handing me a map. Who was he again?

"I made the map." I take the map from his hand.

"Thanks." He nodded and walked off. I completely forgot him. I scan the map quickly. The map had a each cabin mapped out along with each buildings that you would see in a city. Mostly things like libraries, a trade center, and a playground. Why does the camp have a trade center? I ignore the thought and put the map in my Inventory. I stretch as I thought about sneaking back into bed. I notice other groups join as we turned corners. I wonder what's the point of waking up this early, this better be important. I feel someone tap my shoulder, I look to the side to see Michael walk by my side.

"Goud Moorning." Michael said as he was yawning.

"Hey" I said as I crack my neck trying to loosen up body.

"I can't wait to start training!"

"We got up early just to train?" I groan internally. I don't want to do anything right now. Maybe later, but not now.

"Yeah."

"How do you know?"

"My siblings told me." Michael said proudly. I nod as I crack my knuckles. In the corner of my eye I notice Michael staring at me.

"Isn't cracking your knuckles bad for you?"

"I don't think so, it feels nice anyway so I'm going to do it." He shrugged but I hear Alice's voice behind me. I let out a groan as she spoke.

"That's actually a myth, it doesn't matter if you crack your knuckles. It only matters when you feel pain from it."

"Really?" Michael asked. She appeared my Michael's side while nodding.

"Also Good Morning." Alice added. Michael replied with a good morning. I didn't bother saying anything.

"Alice, what do we do when we train?" I asked, slightly curious. I was slightly hoping that it would something like light jogging and not sprinting with weights tied to our ankles.

"I don't know, its different each time." I nod silently.

"Where do we train?" Michael asked. Alice quickly pointed to the colosseum

"At the colosseum you idiot." I forgot about the colosseum. I never had to go in it.

"In Michael's defense we never had to go in it or near it."

"It's still pretty big, it's hard to miss."

"What's a colosseum?" Michael asked. I look around for the colosseum, I quickly notice it a few miles? Might be yards to my side. It slowly got bigger as we walked towards it. I notice blue flags poking out on the top. I hear Alice in the background explaining to Michael what a colosseum was. Alice's explanation suddenly ended. We walked in silence for a little bit before we finally got to the entrance. I notice weapon racks holding all sorts of weapons I couldn't identify. There were spears that had blades at different lengths, the swords looked the same with the exception of the blades sizes, there were some other weapons that had unique shapes to them. Some of the uniquely shaped weapons had L-shaped blades, some others were Bo-staffs with tiny spikes on each end. I approached a weapon rack and picked a random sword. The sword had a tiny curve that wasn't too noticeable, unlike the Katana I didn't have to use two hands to hold it. The blade was shorter than the Katana but it was also a lot more lighter. I might try this one out. Michael walked up to my side.

"Which one did you pick?" He asked with his weapon in hand. His weapon was weirdly shaped. It was a club with a tiny bumps at the end. The weapon had iron bumps on the end. The weapon reminded me of a bat with nails at the end. I raised my weapon.

"This one." I said while showing him.

"That's so tiny."

"Well that's just a bat with some bumps on the end." He rolled his eyes with a smile on his face.

"Wanna switch for a sec?"

"Sure." I hand him my weapon and he hands me his. The second I wrapped my fingers around the tip of the weapon almost fell to the ground. I quickly wrapped my other hand around it before being able to lift it.

"It's so light." Michael said while waving the sword around. I put the end of Michael's weapon on the ground while holding the hilt in my palms.

"Why is your's so heavy?"

"It's not that heavy." I shake my head.

"No, it's pretty heavy. It's going to be hard swinging this around."

"It doesn't feel that heavy to me." He said while handing me back my weapon and reaching for his weapon. I happily take back my weapon while Michael took his weapon. "Your weapon feels off." He said.

"How?"

"Too short." I roll my eyes as some random teenager came up to us and gave us a slip of paper.

"What's this for?" The teenager shrugged and quickly ran to give people more pieces of paper. I look at the paper, the paper had a simple twelve on it. "I got a five. How about you?" Michael asked.

"Twelve." I put the paper in my Inventory.

"What do you think these are for?"

"Maybe Groups?" Michael nodded. He stared at the paper with a serious look on his face. "Or pairs. I don't know." He stuffed the paper in his pocket. Alice suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

"I heard we're having a tournament today." Dammit.

"Do we have to do it?" I ask.

"You could lose on purpose." I suddenly get a quest telling me to win the tournament. The only reward in the box was two thousand points of Xp. That's a lot of Xp! I might give it a try.

"Do we get anything if we win?" Michael asked.

"Yeah, I don't know what though." Michael's face brightened up. "The older kids are in it though. We have no chance of winning, so Imma lose quickly." His smile quickly disappeared.

"I want that prize though." Michael said.

"You don't even know how to fight." Alice said. Michael pointed at his chest.

"I'm a quick learner!" He said with a proud look on his face.

"Sure you are." I commented. A loud booming voice suddenly calls everyone to the arena. Everyone went out into the arena, I somehow lost Alice and Michael while everyone walked in front of me. I notice the floor covered with sand along with a little bit of blood mixed in. I stepped onto to the sand and looked around. There were ladders leading up to the seats above. The colosseum was bare, nothing really stood out. I see people climbing up the ladders and take a seat above. I followed them and took a seat randomly. Michael appeared out of nowhere and took a seat next to me. I lay my weapon on my lap.

"Why is there so much sand?" Michael asked.

"I have no idea." I hear Alice's voice behind me.

"The sand soaks up blood and spit."

"That's it?" Michael asked.

"Yeah."

"I thought it would do more." Once everyone took a seat a bright two showed up in the middle of the colosseum. "Finally it's starting!" Michael excitedly said. A boy and a girl jumped down into the arena. They walked to the middle and stopped when they were a few yards apart. They both got into a fighting stance and readied their weapons. A loud buzzer can be heard throughout the colosseum as the two people ran at each other.

The boy quickly swung their sword at the other person's side. The girl swiftly takes a step back and jammed their sword into the other person's stomach. The person hunches over as the girl quickly clocked him in the cheek. His feet was sweeped of the ground as he flew to the side, his weapon was left on the ground. He rolled violently on the ground. The girl didn't waste a second chasing after him. The guy got on his knees and did some hand signs as the girl got closer. A pillar of fire suddenly rose up in front of him. The girl was barely able to stop herself from running into the fire.

The girl stabbed the ground and quickly did some hand signs. The girl's hands quickly went up into the air as the boy propelled himself out of the ground right between her hands. He kicked her in the jaw and followed it up with a uppercut. The girl's body was suddenly covered in a blue hue. He jumped back into the flames as the other person's hue quickly disappeared. The person leaped back while doing hand signs. This time the person wasn't interrupted. I felt a wave of air hit me in the face as the person stared intensely at the ground. She was standing there patiently, just waiting for something to happen.

The ground of front of her suddenly blew up as the guy ran out of the fire. The girl quickly did some hand signs as she ran towards him. The muscles in her arms suddenly grew five times its size in a second. The boy tried to stop himself but the girl grabbed him by the shirt and threw him to the ground. He grabbed her legs and desperately sunk his nails into her skin. She ignored the nails penetrating her skin and stabbed the ground nears the guys head before following up with her bending down and punching him in the face. The guy's arms fell to the ground as the girl stepped off him. The guy laid motionless.

I release a breath of air I didn't know I was holding in. The girl picked up[ the guy's body and walked off into the entrance of the colosseum. A bright three quickly burned in the middle of the arena. I shift in my seat just waiting for next fight to start.

8:15 am

The next few fights were not that bad, they were exciting, but they didn't really catch my attention. They just end way to quickly. The magic the other demigods used were flashy. One demigod made a dragon made of what I think was electricity while another one covered himself in fire. I didn't see many people use wind magic though. I kind of wanted to see what people could do with wind. The people down in the colosseum leave, one of them had their torn to shreds. A bright five showed in the arena. Michael stood up with a nervous smile on his face.

"Good luck." Alice said, her voice drowned out by sea of voices.

"Thanks," Michael said as he walked off into the arena with his weapon in hand. He's gonna lose.

8:16 am

(Michael's POV)

I excitedly walk up to the middle of a arena. Excitement built up in my chest when I saw a boy with brown hair walk up to the middle of the arena. I spread my legs out a little, preparing to rush him at the start. I raise my weapon like I was going to swing a bat.

My enemy didn't react though. He just got into a fighting position with a spear that had a curved blade pointed at me. A loud voice in my head suddenly shouted, "Start" in my head. The boy quickly rushed at me. I flinched and took a step back. I saw him suddenly step to the side and disappear. On instinct I swing my weapon. Somehow the boy was back where he was before he stepped to the side. He quickly stepped to the side, my weapon struck him in the side.

The blow pushed him to the side. I instinctively step to the side and follow it up with a swing to the arm. The boy groaned in pain as he jumped back. He leaned to the side with his arm covering his side. My body was overwhelmed with adrenaline as my I felt my arms flex. The adrenaline made me feel giddy as I watched the boy intensely take a deep breath and stab the sand with his spear. His hands moved in a strange way. My body tensed up as I saw his hands move. Everything seemed to blur except his hands. My body quickly relaxed as I got the feeling to jump to the side.

I followed the feeling. I looked back to see a thin, grey line attack the space where I was. I trace the line with my eyes. The boy was holding a iron handle with a chains connected to the end. My eyes zoomed in the chains, I notice tiny spikes on the surface. They were barely noticeable, but there were a bunch of them. The chain quickly changed its path and headed straight towards me. I stood still in shock for a moment. I was barely able to turn my body in time as the chain zoomed straight past me. I blink and suddenly the chain flew right past me again, in the same way it did before.

I had a strange a feeling in my head telling me to throw my weapon on the ground. My hands instinctively moved and did these weird hand signs. In the corner of my eye I notice the whip aim itself towards my head, in my other eye I see the boy charge at me with his spear. My hands stop moving. Nothing happened. My body suddenly felt like it was being crushed by a truck. I collapse onto my knees. The boy and the whip quickly closed in on me. My vision was suddenly blinded by a bright red light. Sweat dripped off my face. I took deep breaths trying to catch my breath. I took one last breath before my vision turned to black.

8:18 am

(Ivan's POV)

My eyes widen as a tornado of fire engulfed Michael's body. I didn't know he could do that! We got here yesterday and he could do that already? His opponent was barely able to doge the tornado. He launched his body out of the fire, most of his shirt was burned off. I had no idea where his whip went though. The tornado slowly faded away. In the middle was Michael's body laying face first on the ground. His clothes had no sign of them burning off. The boy slowly walked to him and poked him. The boy sighed and dragged Michael's body to the entrance. I notice his weapon was perfectly fine despite it being made of wood. Weird.

I cross my legs and wait for the next fight to begin. I didn't think Michael would be that good at fighting. A bright twenty-one appeared in the middle of the arena. I notice Alice get up and walk to into the arena. Her fight didn't last long. She waved her hand and walked back to her seat, So she wasn't kidding when she said she was going to give up.

The next few fights were nothing special, they usually ended in a few minutes. A few fights in Michael casually walked up and sat down next to me. "Hey." was the only thing I said to him.

"Hi." Was all Michael said while sitting down.

"You feel fine?" I heard Alice ask Michael. He turned around and nodded.

"Just a little," He opened his mouth to yawn. "Tirrreeed." I look into the colosseum and see two people climbing the ladders. A bright twelve burned in the middle. I groan just looking at it. I reluctantly stand up with my weapon in hand. "Good luck," I heard Michael say.

I mutter a, "Thanks," under my breath. I climb down the ladder and see a boy who was several heads taller than me standing in the middle. He had a cocky grin on his face. He had a tiny, dagger in his hand. I walk up to the middle and get into a fighting position. I felt awkward standing in the middle where everyone can stare at us. I felt the stares of all in the people in the colosseum. The boy rolled his neck slowly as he stared at me.

"You should probably just quit, there's no way you can win." The boy said with a smile. I didn't bother to respond, I just glared at him. I suddenly hear a booming voice shout, "Start" in my head. Did I actually hear that or did I just imagine it? The boy suddenly disappeared in an instant. I look around in confusion. I caught brief glimpses of him running around me in circles. I feel a tingly feeling in my head. I quickly duck and catch him trying to kick the side of my head. In an instant he brings down his foot onto my head. My body falls to the ground as I watch him raise his foot. I see a blast of wind at his leg.

His body was sent flying backwards as his body tuned violently in the air. I quickly get back up onto my feet slightly dazed from the kick. I crouch and grab a fistful of sand. The boy rolled as he landed on his arm. He shakily gets back up. I take a deep breath and run at him. The boy watched with one hand on his leg. Most of his pants were ripped off, his leg was a bright pink. I aimed a arrow of wind at his torso. The boy took a deep breath as he brought up his hand to his chest and started doing hand signs. The arrow hit him square in the chest. He groaned in pain, but he still kept doing hand signs.

I was few feet away from him when a long blade came out of his arms. I stopped myself and jumped back. He threw his weapon on the ground, and disappeared in an instant. I looked around trying to find the boy. I suddenly feel a sharp pain in my arm. Something wet slides down my arm. I ignore the feeling and wait for him to attack. I feel a tingly feeling on my back. I quickly turn around and threw the sand in the direction. The boy suddenly appears in front of my face. He groaned as he aggressively rubbed his eyes. I quickly swing my sword at his face. His face jolted to the side as I quickly started widely swinging at his body.

I aim for his nose but he suddenly swings his arm in my direction. The tip of the blade scratches my cheek. Blood flowed down my cheek as I jumped back. The boy rubbed his eyes and ran off to the side. He stumbled for a bit and disappeared for a bit before reappearing on the ground. He scrambled back up onto his feet and ran off to the side while stumbling. I bent down and grabbed another fistful of sand. I hear something run up behind me and feel a sharp sting in the side of my stomach.

I fell onto my back. I see the boy stand over me as he lifted up his leg, he quickly brought down his foot on top of my stomach. I felt a sharp pain as I groaned in pain. I used Wind Cannon's on the ground next to him. He flinched just long enough for me to wack his leg with my weapon and sent a blast of wind in his direction. I grabbed a handful of sand and quickly scrambled back onto my feet. I ran towards him as I saw the boy slowly get up. His head looked in my direction as I shove a fistful of sand in his eyes. I followed it up hitting him in the side of the head.

His head snapped to the side as I brought up my leg to kick him in the face. The boy fell onto his butt and swiftly aimed his arm blade at my leg .My leg went over him as the blade pierced my leg and slid down my leg. I quickly brought my leg down as the boy sprung back up and slashed at my torso. He quickly kicked the side of my face, then swiftly spun around on his heels and kicked my nose with the back of his heel. I instinctively close my eyes as I took a step backwards. I open my eyes in time to see him about to kick my sides. I swiftly use Wind's Cannon on his legs then quickly aim a Wind arrow towards his chest. His leg bent at a weird angle while the arrow left a shallow hole in his chest. He desperately swung his arm towards my chest, I jump back as the boy fell onto one knee and raised his hand.

I immediately feel the adrenaline wear off. I hear a voice in my head say, "Go take a seat." The boy got up and started limping to the side of the colosseum. I stumble to the ladder and slowly climbed up. As soon I started limping back to my seat I hear a voice say, "Number seventy-three." I ignore the voice and sat down.

"Nice." I heard Michael say. I grunt in response. My body ached as I sat down. I take out a medium potion and chug it down. I put the bottle in my Inventory and look into the arena. I see a bright seventy-three in the middle of the colosseum. I just sat down! I reluctantly get up and walk over to the ladder. "Its your turn again?" Michael asked. I responded with simple, "yep.. Alice chuckled as I walked away. Parts of my body begged me stop. I climb down the ladder and walk to the middle of the colosseum. In the distance I see the leader of my cabin casually walking up to to the middle.I have to fight him? I don't wanna! I get into a fighting stance while he stared at me before stretching his arms. He didn't have a weapon in his hand. Is he going to fight with his hands? I take a deep breath before hearing a voice shout, "Start," in my head.

The guy immediately rushed towards me. I instinctively use Wind's Cannon on him. The attack did nothing to him. In less than an a second I was hunched over his fist. I weakly wack his leg with my weapon. He didn't react. I launch myself backwards as I stared at him intensely. I felt a hand on my shoulder as I tried to catch my breath. I look up to see him standing over me. I quickly try to get myself out his grip. His grip quickly tightened as I was suddenly lifted over his head. He turned me upside down. I tried stabing his chest but I couldn't reach. He grabs my waist and slams me to the ground. My head feels like it was smashed with a hammer as soon as the back side of my head slammed onto the ground. My vision turns to black as I feel a blunt object smash into the side of my head.

(Michael's POV)

I winced at seeing Ivan's neck bend at a weird angle. He body begins to fall as the guy kicked the side of his head. His body flopped to the ground completely motionless. "You think he's okay?" I asked Alice.

"No, he definitely has brain damage."
