(Ivan's POV)
I wobbly walk back to my seat. My body ached with each step. I look back into the colosseum, there were two girls wrestling on the ground. I didn't really pay attention to them as I sat down. I slowly roll my neck. A sore feeling formed in my neck as I slowly moved it around. "Hey." I hear Michael say next to me. I winced as I moved my head from side to side.
"Hey." Was the only thing I could respond with. The sore feeling got stronger my neck suddenly cracked. I let out a high pitch whimper as the pain was sent down my shoulders and up my head. Michael looked at me with curious look in his eyes.
"You have blood covering your shirt." I look down and see a big patch of red around my neck. The middle part of my shirt was ripped to shreds, on one side of my pants the part near thighs had long tears going down to my ankle. I really wish I could wash my clothes or at least have a place to change my clothes.
"I know." I cover the tears on my thighs with my hands, even with my hands most of it was still able to be seen. My torso felt a little cold but not enough to bother me. I look back into the arena only to see one girl slam her weapon's hilt into the back of the girls's head. There was a faint blue hue covering the weapon. The girl collapsed onto the ground with blood flowing down her neck. Just watching made my neck pulse with pain. I suddenly felt something flick the back of my neck. A stream of pain flowed through my head. I looked back to see Alice casually waving. "Why?" Alice shrugged.
"Just felt like it." I rolled my eyes and turned around. I notice everyone get up and walk towards the ladders. "That's it?" I heard Michael yell. Alice responded with a simple, "yep." I groaned as I stood back up.My legs begged me sit back down, I try my best to ignore the feeling. I was barely able to sit down for a minute! Did I really have to get this unlucky? I walked over to ladder and climbed down after waiting for while for my turn to climb down the ladder. Once I was at the bottom I walked over to the entrance of the colosseum. Michael appeared at my side with Alice shortly catching up. I pull out the map to the camp and immediately notice a place simply called the showers. For some reason the showers was near the garden. That just seems inconvenient. Once I was out of the colosseum I immediately made my way towards the showers.
"Where're we going?"
"To the showers." I heard Alice spin on her heels and walk over.
"I'm leaving. Bye guys!" Michael said, "bye," while I didn't respond. We walked in silence in silence of a little bit. I look down at the map. Why is the showers past the garden? What's the point of putting it there? Why not put it a little bit closer?
"Are the showers really here?"
"Yeah, for some reason." I see a bland, white building in the distance as we approached the other side of the garden. Someone suddenly grabs my shoulder before I could get within a few feet of the building. I sigh as I turn around. The woman who I met in the woods was staring at me with pity in her eyes, her other hand was holding Michael by the hand.
"Hi!" Michael said happily.
"Hello," she said with a smile. "Sorry to interrupt you, but Kale wants to see you." Who?
"I don't know who he is" I said. Her eyes flickered to the side.
"I mean Coach!"
"Who?" She let go of my shoulder and made a portal behind her.
"Just follow me." She let go of Michael and stepped into the portal. Michael and I looked at each other for a brief moment before Michael stepped into the portal. I groan internally as I watch him step into the portal. I just want to take one shower. Is that so hard to do? I begrudgingly step into the portal. My vision blurred for a bit; just like the last time I came here, when my vision came back I was sitting down in a chair in front of the same tall, lanky person sitting right in front of me. Michael was sitting right by my side.
"Before I start I should probably give you these papers." He stretches his hands out to me and Michael, a tiny piece of paper appears in both of his hands. I grab the piece of paper out of his hand and read it.
Dear, Ivan Torres
Due to your fighting capabilities, you will be required to train extra due to certain circumstances.
Signed by, Fūjin
My body tensed up as I read the last word. I wonder if he just found out about me or if he knew that I existed from the start. Kind of wish he said more. I quickly put the paper in my Inventory.
"Who's Hachiman?" Michael said beside me. I look over at Michael's paper and see the paper littered with words.
"That's-that's your dad." The man said with a disappointing look.
"Oh," Was the only thing Michael responded with. I lean back in my chair. Hopefully the extra training isn't that hard. With the way training turned out today, the extra training will probably be brutal.
"Anyways, let's start with the basics today." I lean forward in my chair.
"We're starting now?" I say with a surprised tone.
"Yep. We might as well start now." He got up and cracked his neck. I slowly stand up with Michael shortly following my actions. The guy walks out and waits for us. I quickly followed. We walked to the back of the building. The back looked plain, there was only grass growing. The guy sat down in a random spot and patted the ground beside him. Something in me told me to sit away from him. I sat down a few feet away from him while Michael sat beside him. At least the grass feels nice. I watch the guy get up and face us. "For now, just try wasting some of your magic. Just don't use anything too powerful." I wonder what wasting our magic has to do with training. I activate Wind Aura and wait for my Mp bar to drain.
Michael did some hand signs and a beam of what looked like electricity shot through the air. Sweat formed on his forehead as he slowly did the same hand-signs. A beam of electricity flew a couple of feet before fizzing out. Michael breathed heavily as he head started to droop down. The guy walked over to Michael and stared at him with a stern look in his eyes. Michael brought up his hands to his chest and slowly formed a hand sign. "Don't, you'll just strain yourself." Michael's hands fell to the ground. He groaned as he sprawled out his body on the grass. The guy stood at his side.
"Michael."
"Yeah?"
"Get back up." Michael slowly got up and stared at the guy. "Try to focus on your blood circulating your body."
"What does circulating mean?" Michael asked curiously.
"Imagine the blood going around your body."
"Oh." Michael closed his eyes. My body suddenly felt like it was being weighed down by bricks as my Mp bar turned to gray. Sweat fell down my cheek as box popped up telling me that Wind Aura was now level ten. I have to use that skill more often. The guy walked over to my side.
"You know what to do right?" I nod while staring directly at him. I notice Michael glowing with a faint blue hue surrounding him. His breathing was controlled along with him looking perfectly fine. If Michael can do it, it shouldn't that hard. He just got here. I instinctively closed my eyes and imagined my blood flowing through my veins. The first few seconds were the easiest part, soon my thoughts changed to taking a shower. I quickly correct myself and keep on going. My thoughts kept getting interrupted as the light from the sun beamed in my face. I grind my teeth as I tried to not think about other things.I take a deep breath and try to stop thinking about everything. My body felt cold as my mind was blank. The feeling lasted for few seconds before I got tired of just sitting still. I took a deep breath and pinched my arm. I suddenly felt my body feel like it was being pushed by water. I notice my Mp bar fill up faster, but not by much, but it was still something. My Stamina bar quickly turned gray as my mp bar was half full
Before my Stamina bar could run out I quickly open my eyes and spot a faint blue hue covering my body before it quickly faded away. In the corner of my eye I notice Michael glow bright blue. Two boxes suddenly appeared in my face. Haven't had these in a while.
Thanks to certain actions you did, you gained new skills!
Lvl 1 (15%) Meditation- When first activated the Stamina bar is increased by 50 points for a day, the effect can't be used for two weeks; can also refill Stamina bar by 15 points per second when used, can be used at anytime.
Well this sounds useful, sounds hard to use in the middle of a fight. I close the box and read the last box
Magic Management- You can now control how magic flows within your body. Just don't get too cocky.
Lvl 1(34%) Magic Buildup- When you concentrate on how your blood flows through your body. It takes a lot of concentration for you to activate. It's a little bit harder to activate when Mp bar is full. Refills 15 points of Mp per second. 60 points of Stamina per second
I kind of wish there I didn't have to trade my Stamina for Mp. Nothing I could do about it though. It feels weird not seeing skills do damage. It's a nice change though. I hear snapping to my side. The guy kept snapping his fingers while staring intently at me. "Keep on going. You barely lasted a minute." I notice Michael glowing a bright blue next to me. "Michael has lasted for more than a minute. Just keep going." I roll my eyes and activate Wind Aura. I waited until my Mp bar was full. My body felt heavy as my Mp bar turned gray. I close my eyes and get into a comfortable position.
At least doing this is useful.
1:23 pm
I concentrate on the blood flowing through my veins. "I'm bored. Can we go now?" I heard Michael say by my side. I open my eyes and see a box telling me that Magic Buildup leveled up to level sixteen. I smile remembering how much progress I made. Now Wind Aura is level twenty-two!
Lvl22(32%) Wind Aura (Mode I)- You can cover yourself with wind. Can block attacks and most projectiles. Mp per second- 5
Lvl 16(02%) Magic Buildup- When you concentrate on how your blood flows through your body. It takes a lot of concentration for you to activate. It's a little bit harder to activate when Mp bar is full. Refills 25 points of Mp per second. 54 points of Stamina per second
Wind Aura is so cheap! And it's only level twenty-two! I wonder what the next seventy-eight levels will be like. The guy's eyes roll back and then roll forward. "Yeah sure. Just practice what we learned today, and come back here on Friday." Michael nodded and the guy looked to me. I stared at him for a second before nodding. I stand up with Michael also standing up.
"Bye!" Michael said. I mutter a, "bye under my breath." while walking away. I take out my map and look for where we are. I have no idea where I'm am. I turn around and yell, "How do we get to the showers!" The guy pointed to the side. I nod and walk the way he pointed. As we walked into the forest I heard Michael stretch out his arms to the sky and made a high pitch noise. "You know what I'm going back my cabin, I want sleep."
"Oh, yeah bye." I replied. Michael nodded and walked away. I walk through the forest slowly. I sniffle as I walk by some flowers. There's so much nature here. A branch cracks as I made my way to the showers. I wish I was in my home. I miss the stuff I have there. Too bad I can't get to it though. I suddenly remember about my apartment key. I take it out of my Inventory and look at it. How Am'I supposed to use this? Do I just I put it in the ground? I crouch and stick the key in the dirt. A hole slowly appears in the ground while the key laid on the first step. I pick it up and go down the hole. As I enter the living the room I see Jana and Anenoid on the couch watching a movie with a few snacks on the table..
"I'm Mc Lovin" Someone said in a smug tone.
"No you're not, no ones Mc Lovin! Mc Lovins never existed cuz that's a made up dumb, fuckin fairytale name, you fuck!" Another person said angrily. Anenoid pauses the movie and looks at me.
"Where did you come from?" I hold up the key. Anenoid rolls his eyes as Jana opened a bag of chips. He lets out a groan as he tilted his head backwards. "Please tell me you didn't use the key in the middle of the nowhere."
"I used it in the middle of the woods if that helps."
"It doesn't." He said while shaking his head.
"Why?"
"Well now we're in the middle of the woods with no way of getting back to the city."
"Does it help even more that I used in the woods that's in demigod camp?" He thought about it for a moment before saying, "Meh". Jana stared at us while grabbing a fistful of chips and stuffing it in her mouth. Anenoid unpaused the movie while I walk back to my room.
"Wait what about that person you killed?" Jana said. Anenoid pauses the movie while saying, "Pass me the soda."
"What are you talking about?"
"Didn't you get into a fight a few days ago when you killed someone?" I suddenly remember the woman with the nine tails. I take out my ring and put it on.
"Oh you mean the crackhead, yeah hold on." I pour a point of Mp into the ring and the woman appears out of thin air. "Meet the crackhead. I don't know her name though." The woman looks around for a bit before scratching her head.
"What a crackhead?" The woman said with a faint British accent. She grabbed one of her tails and started stroking it softly. "Actewually where Am'I?"
"In a building." Anenoid responded. A smile formed on her lips.
"Finually! I have a place to sleep!" Her tails started wagging as soon as she said those words. i thought she would just wonder around the place like an animal. She did act like an animal with rabies when I fought her. Now, she's acting like a normal person. Her head quickly snapped in my direction. "Ah, sorry for attacking you, I wasn't thinking straight." She said with a sad look in her eyes. I notice her accent changed from British to American. Jana noticed the change in accent.
"What happened to your accent?" Jana asked. The woman's head looked over in Jana's direction.
"I'm trying to talk like an American." She let go of her tail and grabbed another one. It's hard though, you guys speak weird." Anenoid chuckled. "Anyway," She looked over in my direction." I was hungry and my instincts took over. Sorry once again."
"Yeeahhhh." I said, not really knowing how to respond. "Thanks? I have something to do talk to you later." I spun on my heels and walked away.
(Anenoid's POV)
"What the hell is that?" I prop up my head while focusing on the movie.
"A vest." The woman with the nine tails was using her tails as a couch by my side.
"So what's your name?" Jana asked.
"Goldie." She responded.
"Yeah. How many High Schoolers you seen in vests?
"No offense, that sounds like a name for a pet."
"That was my name when I was still a fox, I never really had another name after that though."
"You were a fox?" I said in a questioning tone.
"Yes."
"But you're human now?" Jana asked.
"Nope, a kitsune."
"I have no idea what that is." Jana said while reaching into the bag of chips.
"It's just a fox with supernatural abilities."
"So you're still a fox" I said.
"No, I'm a kitsune because I'm a fox with powers."
"So you're a fox with powers?" She nodded. "So you're a fox." Jana said.
"No."
I don't understand." In the corner of my eye I notice her dig her nails into her skin before quickly pulling them back out.
"Fox that turned into yokai. You understand now?" She said with an angry tone that was barely noticeable.
"Yeah?"
(Ivan's POV)
I lay down on my bed with a book in hand. I smile as my body sinks into the mattress. I miss my bed. Anenoid suddenly bursted into my room. "When are you going back to the camp?" Before I could respond I heard some questionable things going on in the background. "He was violating a sixteen year-old girl!"
I shrug. " I don't know."
"When are you going tell me. I want to see the camp."
"Yeah later."
"You're going to jail, fucko."
