Chapter 8

Seiran woke Dina up.

"5 minutes." Dina groaned and covered her head with her pillow. Seiran took a bath then saw her friend now sitting in her bed with her eyes still closed.

She dragged her feet to the bathroom when she saw Seiran coming out of it. The latter tied her hair up in a tight ponytail. While waiting for Dina to finish, she noticed a book on top of Dina's own study table. She took it and read the title.

"What you need to know magic, book one." Seiran read aloud then opened to the first page. There were four kinds of magic circles. They were the main elements of magic that Reymund told her about.

It was also written that only one element can be used per person. It takes a genius to have 2. The next topic is about the design of the circle. The more complicated the design of a magic circle, the more powerful it is and harder for it to defend to.

Dina came out of the bathroom just before Seiran moved to the next page.

"If there are 4 main elements of magic, how about my healing magic?" She asked. Dina sat on her bed while drying her hair with a towel.

"Healing magic is like a non-official main element because when a person learns healing magic, that's the only thing they can do and the so-called non-elemental magic. Things like teleportation, illusion and many more. Their magic circles have different colors too. Anyone, no matter what your element is, can do that if they practice." She answered.

"So I can't learn other main elemental kind of magic because I can already do the healing one?" Seiran asked as she helped Dina tie her hair up to a bun.

"Yup." She answered.

"What's your magic then?" Seiran asked.

"I still haven't figured it out yet. For now I can only do non-elemental magics." She said.

They went out of their room. Dina locked the door before they proceed going outside their dorm.

The girls saw Luke waiting far away from the crowd of first years.

"Where's Finn?" Dina asked while looking around.

"Oh, speak of the devil." She said when she saw Finn walking towards them while yawning. He glared at Luke once he got close to them.

"Why didn't you wake me up? I had to shower really fast, else I'll be late." He irritatedly said.

"I did, 3 times. You always say 5 more minutes." Luke sighed while looking at him.

"Attention!" The noise from the students quickly died down. The teacher wearing white cloak cleared his throat before he continued. He told them to follow him so they did. They walked outside the school, up to the forest behind the capital.

"Your target for today would be a color blue rabbit." Then he waved his hand. A small orange magic circle appeared beside with a single star in the middle. It quickly vanished when the teacher continued talking.

"That will automatically show up and show your point everytime you kill the target. We will give the top 3 teams with most kill a money as a reward."

"Is the rabbit the only target we have?" A student asked.

"Isn't that too easy?" The other student asked.

"Yes, ONLY that. I expect each of you to have more than 10 kills each since it's a very easy target." The teacher told the students who speak up, mind the sarcastic tone. The students laughed, clearly looking down on the task.

"Avoid accidents as much as possible. No one is allowed to hurt another student too. If you make it to the end of the forest, do not cross over the border." The students finally gathered with their teams as the other teacher handed out the warrior's weapon.

"Start!" He shouted. Everyone set off to the forest.

The teams started to take different directions. Thinning out as they made their way in further to the forest.

"There!" Dina said and pointed at the small rabbit on the ground. They chased the rabbit that hopped away from them. Seiran pulled the string of the bow and released the arrow. It hit the rabbit but it made a poof sound and it became two. Dina quickly tapped each of their back then said, "let's split up!"

Seiran and Luke took the right one as Dina and Finn took the other. Luke cleanly swing his sword at the rabbit but it made a poof sound again and it split into two again.

"I'll take this." Luke said. Seiran nodded and took the other one. After a lot of running she made a clean shit in the rabbit then it finally died. The magic circle reappeared in front of her then a large number 1 appeared.

She walked back to the track she came from, hoping she could find the others.

"Seiran." She turned to see Dina and Luke walking together.

"Useful huh?"Danna grinned as she showed a violet magic circle in her palm. It has a two triangles, the other one is inverted. In the middle of the triangles is a line like a needle with a small arrow head.

"I put a mark on your back before we split up." She said as they followed the direction where the line is pointing at. They found Finn walking while looking around.

Luke put his hand on his shoulder. He made a small yelp before he turned around.

"Don't scare me like that." He said exaggeratedly then he became nervous.

"Did you kill it?" Dina asked.

"Someone stole my rabbit." He said in a soft voice.

"Don't worry, let's just find some more rabbits." Seiran said. Finn nodded, determined to kill even once so he wouldn't be such a burden to the team.

The hunting game stopped at exactly 12 pm. There were lots of markings in the trees, showing the direction towards the exit of the forest. The teachers gathered the points of each team, making bad remarks to the students who dared to look down at the task before the hunt began.

"None of you could even kill more than 3." The teacher said then laughed. The students' faces heated up from embarrassment then they both ran away.
