The room was soundproof, so earlier Stanley didn't hear any noise as the door was shut. Now when he was about to go reach the stairs to go back to his room, he heard his father's hurtful voice and his legs automatically turned towards his parent's room.
When he reached the room, he saw his father rolling on the bed in pain while his mother and sister were trying to catch him in his place with tears. Seeing her husband's pain she could not think clearly but when Stanley entered she came to her sense due to the movement in the room. She quickly stood up as she saw some scratches on his shoulders while he was rolling on the bed and said
"Miya call Reema, quick"
Miya dashed outside to get her bag and quickly took her mobile, due to tension she dropped her mobile on the floor and broke it.
"Ahh" she exclaimed and took her mother's bag for her mobile
She quickly dialled Rita as her mother didn't have Reema's number. She narrated everything about her father.
Rita was dumbstruck to hear this, she still remembered that she had met him this morning and also remembered that he went to the funeral. She quickly replied
"Got it, Reema just returned and I'll inform her" and ended the call.
Reema is Rita's elder sister, working in the maintenance department of the building they are living in. Although they both are rich, they still lived in an ordinary area where most of the middle-class workers lived.
Reema is said to be a good-natured person who is very friendly just like her sister. She is at the same time fierce at whoever is bad. She is very sensitive towards the bad aura of people, she can sense most of the time but not always.
Rita told Reema about Miya's father, Thomas. Reema didn't say anything, just nodded her head and moved out taking the rag bag from the cupboard other than her regular office vanity bag.
Rita was not allowed to go out of the house after sunset. She can go wherever she wanted but has to return home before sunset, this is the rule set by her grandmother which she followed obediently but it is not so for Reema, she's allowed to go out even at midnight.
When Reema reached, uncle Thomas had blood on his shoulders and was groaning in pain with his chest pacing up and down which is faster than the normal people as if he had run in a marathon and looked paler, his eyes were deep red as if it is some burning coal, his mouth wide open for screaming out his pain while in sitting position. He was no more rolling but the blood-stained on his shirt showed how much he had endured.
Reema didn't say anything, she quickly took her bag and gave a look to aunt Mary, who understood and took out her children along the way.
Once outside she closed the door and started pacing to and fro in front of the door. Miya was as well anxious and she started pacing along with her mother but in the opposite direction.
Seeing this Stanley was worried and pulled both of them to sit on the sofa while he went to the door waiting for Reema. He thought that she's a doctor and wanted to know how his father is doing, and unconsciously he started pacing in front of the door. Seeing this both, the other and daughter looked at each other and then at Stanley at the same time.
When Reema entered the house, she sensed something strange, which is not new to her. She is an exorcist who sensed this kind of feeling whenever called for. She has learnt it from her grandmother, who is famous for her exorcism.
Mary knew that something is wrong from the beginning when she saw blood on his shoulders which her children didn't observe at first, they both observed only after Miya came back making a call.
Mary confirmed her intuitions only when Reema gave her a look without saying anything. Mary knew that she'll not talk when there is some unknown energy around and also she'll keep mum till she completely executes the process and also till she completely get rid of that energy.
Reema quickly took a white powder from a paper bag that was inside the rag bag in a fist and chanted she drew a circle around the bed. Then she took a bottle and without stopping her chanting, opened it and kept it on the side table near the bed and entered the circle.
She quickly took a charcoal powder in her fist closed her eyes while chanting and blew it on Thomas's face. He screamed, and she saw a vague dark shadow above his shoulder in a bending position.
The shadow had both its legs and hands-on Thomas's shoulders and is jumping on him like a frog and in this process scratching his shoulders and also giving extreme pain to him.
The charcoal powder excited the resting shadow which again began to jump on his shoulders and Thomas rolled on the bed.
Reema without stopping her chanting which was like a whisper slowly took the opened bottle that she had kept near the table without moving her leg and saw that the dark shadow moving inside the bottle.
As soon as it entered she closed the bottle with her palm for a few seconds and then closed it quickly with the lid. In all this process she didn't stop her chanting in a whisper.
When she came out everybody moved towards her, Stanley asked
" How is he now doctor?"
Reema just glanced at him and moved outside without saying anything. Stanley didn't know what to say, he wanted to follow her to know about his dad's condition but the rude doctor didn't say anything to anyone and stridden outside in a hurry
' What's the meaning of this? how rude..?' he thought and was about to follow her when mother stopped him and pulled him inside the room.
