Chapter 19

I've never been in the garden area of this, my beloved city I realise with shock. I haven't even ever heard of this place ever again after I looked up some documents.

Apearently the ancients used this place among with some poolrooms for calming down and taking some distance from work. Also it was used for ceremonies like marriages or for meditating.

I can taste salt and metal in the air.

I fell in love with this the moment I stepped out on that balcony that first time. It's warm out here even though we are in the shaddow of huge old ancient trees I've never seen before. Some of them have red or even violet leaves and there are even some with rainbowcoloured leaves. The trees themselves are huge. it would take twenty people to surround the tree.

One of the tress is hollow and looks a bit like a willow. It's almost like a huge room with a smaller one. And that's where we are standing. Nathan stands in the hollow tree and the crowd of fifty stands in the twilight the golden leaves cause.

its almost sundown and the setting sun causes a red shimmer beneath the green roof we are standing under. The light almost dances on our bodies and one Nathan's face. He is dressed in a white suit and wears his long hair down to his shoulders.

A strange music begins. It reminds of the one I'm used to from weddings from the time i was born in, but it's different. As if you took music from different cultured and mixed it with the melodie of Atlantis. All is a lot slower then the one from back then, but that makes it seem a lot more mystically then this.

The crowd turns to a gap between the leaves and starts smiling widely. Jason appears, his arm connected with fathers arm. The old man smiles proudly and winks to Nathan who starts grinning and looks at Jason in awe. Jason wears a suit matching Nathans and a flower in a pocket right over his heart.

Ella suddenly steps out of the shaddows from the cavity in the willow and grins at her brother. She wispers something into her brothers ear to wich he blushes and ellboows her.

"I've seen several weddings here", Atlantis says, "But they get better each time."

"Shut", I say, "It starts now."

Jason takes his place in he tree next to Nathan and nods to Ella. Ella straightens her back and coughs nervously. She looks to me and I nod to her. She looks to Liam and henods to her too. It must be hard to get such an important task as this. I personally never had to connect two lifes to one and I'm glad. This wasn't what i studied for. Offcourse I like weddings, but only the thought of saying the wrong thing and ruining the most iportant day of two people makes me want to burry myself between the sheets of my bed.

I push my thumbs hard for Ella. May she give them the best wedding that ever took place in Atlantis.

My heart beats in my chest as if it tried to flee from it. The reasurance from both Liam and Elizabeth felt good. I straighten my back and look into the crowd.

"You all know that I only do this job for about five years now and I studied long to be able to do such an important one one day. Now I can only hope I'll do the job great if I don't want either my brother, my brother in law or his father to get mad at me and never talk to me again", I say loudly.

Some giggeling from the crowd.

"Well then...let's get for the point. I suppose you all want this huge cake over there", I say eyeing the giant cake,"We camme together this day to celebrate the probably most important day of these two men. They want to continue their further life as one and they now want to do this in front of their friends, family and their ancestors."

I turn to my brother and lay my hand on his shoulder.

"Jason Emmagan, do you wish to continue your life with Jason McKay and take him as your husband?", I ask looking into his eyes.

"Yes, I wish", he says looking at Jason.

I lay my right hand on Jasons shoulder as well and no look into his eyes.

"Jason McKay, do you wish to continue your further life with Nathan Emmagan and take him as your husband", I ask him too.

"I never wished for something more then I wish for this now", Jason answers looking into Nathans eyes.

I can practically feel their love and it amazes me.

"Liam, please bring us the rings."

Liam stands up and walks over to the root of the willow. He exposes a little box wrapped in an old cloth. He opens the box and suddenly bright light shines from it. Liam takes out two white rings.

"Those rings may be a sign of your love", he says and holds one ring to each of the men.

The rings stop glowing as soon as they don't touch each other.

"Like those rings you will glow when you are one", I say, "Now put the rings on the finger of your partner."

Jason and Nathan exchange the rings amazed. Jasons ring goes on his right hand and Naathans to his left.

"You may kiss now and the bond shall be sealed."

They connect their hands and the rings start glowing again. In the bright light they kiss each other and only parted after the crowd stopped cheering.

"I love you", Jason says.

"I love you too..."
