Learning and Growing

after about a week after he got his strange magic power, Atalan has learned more about this with repeated trial and error to study this power he had, apparently, to use this power properly for a weapon or item that holds up, he first has to image the item he desires in his mind, then he has to figure out the construction of said item in very specific detail, all the material's he's going to use to construct it, how much power/strength/energy is able to be put into if it contains magical energy or has a special ability or abilities where to much will make it break or explode on contact with anything but have enormous power behind it, and to little could result in a less desirable power output than intentionally or could have been expected, set the abilities and limitations of said item to serve its function/functions, and lastly, the size, shape, interior, and final construction of the item in its entirety, it was both simple and hard, thankfully, Atalan was a very fast learner with a drive to improve and grow.

Atalan:" so this is my power... AWESOME"

Rieka:" he can now just make us weapon's when we need it, no more buying weapon's from places now, we'll save a fortune"

Atalan:" but aren't they low quality though"

Zoe:" it doesn't matter, with the amount you can make at a time, all we have to do is make sure they don't break and we'll be alright"

Kame:" but that's not the end of it, the weapon's you made are also great, while they're made from low-quality material's, I tested out the weapon, and after hitting a few rock's, not only did it cut some of them in half after a few swings, I found that the blade doesn't chip or dull and is still as sharp as before even after cutting through the rocks"

Artemis:" so the blade doesn't chip or dull and can stay as sharp as it was before... impressive, like that, it's like Excalibur in a sense, while it's lower quality, it is still able to cut stone even if it takes a few swing's, so it's still far better than the original material"

Atalan is able to make these items now after all this and as they come out, them seem very well made than even the most talented blacksmiths can't make, there were no chip's in the blade and perfectly sharp evenly through the bladed parts and no gap's or rough edges anywhere on any of the dull or non-bladed weapons as well as the club or blunt weapon's having no bumps, and no matter how many time's it's hit, it doesn't even chip when hitting rocks or a solid piece of metal that's normally stronger than it over and over while their is visible damage on the rock's and metal instead, normal weapon's would have chipped and dulled and even broken at that point made of stronger material's, so these could easily be first-class weapon's if they wanted to be, and not only weapon's, he could also do whit with armor, dishes, games, vehicles, even food and drink where Artemis then had him test out if he can make wine, and as he did, it succeeded, this made Artemis happy as she now had near-infinite wine to herself to fuel her alcoholism so long as Atalan had Mana, it was cheap, low quality, and basic wine at that, but it was wine none the less.

Atalan:" I don't think I want to fuel your bad habit, no offense goddess but I don't want to help in your alcoholic syndrome, I don't want to see you drunk since it makes you look bad compared to how you actually are"

Artemis:" I thank you for looking out for me and know you're intentions are to help me and fully respect and admire your care towards me and know you're right, but do you prefer me to be cranky and very very aggressive due to withdrawal to eventually lash out on all of my familia and even you for denying me this foreseen blessing"

Atalan:" goddess, I don't want you to drink your problem's away, I asked you drunk before and you said you were depressed, I don't want to hurt you like that, please, stop drinking, it makes me sad seeing you in a depressed state like that, please"

while Artemis did understand his motive's to want to deny her this, she was not letting it go as she put Atalan in a headlock that she tricked him into thinking she was hugging him, Atalan was at Artemis's mercy as she said she'd let go if he agreed, as reluctant as he was, he was starting to blackout and then tapped out.

Atalan:" okay goddess okay, I'll help, but I'm not happy about it one bit, I hate seeing you like that, and can you let go of me now"

Artemis:"... Atalan, you're doing nothing wrong, I'm the one to blame for this, gods and goddesses are unreasonable, selfish, and self-centered being's who wish to be pampered head to toe just for existing, I give as much as I take, but you can always call me unfair if you like, me forcing you to do something against your will and better judgment like this, so I'll apologize for you being used by me in such a way, I am a goddess after all, I let my selfish and prideful nature get the better of me at times"

hugging him for real this time, she told Atalan he was the victim so he can't feel to bad since she's giving him no choice in this matter, Artemis also realized he can copy other weapon's he see's thinking about it carefully, as the spear he made the first time was patchy but did imitate the spear Achilles had in some way even if it wasn't made from the same materials, and he also was able to copy her bow, though, the material's in Artemis's bow were very high grade and Atalan could only use low-grade material's like Tin, Bronze, and ash oak to make something as any higher grade material make's the weapon have visible gap's, she theorised it's because he doesn't have enough Mana and his magic or body to produce better quality weapon's, further test showed he could, but it took much more Mana to make as he collapsed after making one of a higher quality made of gold this time, his magic is very weak since he's not to talented in magic, he has at least 5 spell's he can use, not helping he doesn't need much Mana to create these weapon's anyway, it seemed to be the case of his lack of reliable power as Ki can only take someone to far for so long, in short, he needed a Dunamis in order to reach better level's of his power, however, she didn't want him to join her familia, not because she didn't think he would fit in or didn't like him, she would have been happy to let him join if it wouldn't cause problem's since she trusted him, it's because she treat's her familia like her huntresses, so only female virgin's were allowed in her familia, so she let that go for now.

Artemis:" it seems without a Dunamis you're power is limited, however, as you know, only virgin women are allowed in my familia Atalan"

Atalan:" then what do I do"

Artemis:" do what you can, you'll eventually get there, but as I said before, only female virgin's can join, but don't go trying to cut off your... manhood like you did 4 year's ago thinking I'd let you join then"

Atalan:" I learned my lesson after that near 8 hour lecture goddess, I won't do it again"

after some more year's, Atalan has gotten better and better, now he was able to go toe to toe with Artemis in hand to hand combat, swordsmanship, spear combat, mounted combat, and riding, and is close to matching her in archery though Artemis is still better as she can still beat him but is compared to the like's of Chiron in her eye's and is serious about it as well, as Atalan is now 12 year's old as well as Rieka leveling up to level 4, Kame and Antiope were level 3's, and some other's leveled up as well, and Artemis had about 3 level 6 in her familia, though some other familia's in dungeon's have level 7's and even 8's, some even having level 9's, this was still a big deal as she was able to be a top contender for power int he dungeon capital's, however, once Atalan turned 12, it was time for him to go.

Atalan:"... what"

Artemis:" it's time for you to leave us, you can't follow us anymore, I let you stay 2 years longer than needed, but... it's time"

Atalan:"... why (starting to cry) why do I have to go"

Kallisto:" let me handle this, Atalan, honey, you're getting to the age where you'll be interested in girl's, so you need to go"

Atalan:" but I would never think of any of you that way"

all the women able to hear that were pissed off by it in an instant, that was, until he said why.

Atalan:" you're my family, my only family, I like how we are, I don't want you all to go away, I don't want you all to leave me, please, I don't want to be left behind by my family"

now they were sad as they understood why he said that, for all his life, he's only had this familia as his family, so of course he'd be attacked to them all and see them as his family, he did more than once call Artemis mom and some other member's older or younger sister at times, and since he was going to be lonely without them, he was scared of being abandoned, but Artemis reassured him trying yo ease his tears best she can.

Artemis:" listen, this isn't goodbye for good, you know where we will be at, you know how we move, and you know you can call us anytime you need it, with a bit of effort of course, and you know what, once you find a place to call home, then you do your damndest to make it great and we'll come to visit, namely to have a place to sleep, and you should be great wherever you go, remember, if you need our help, just ask and we'll come running, can you do that"

Atalan:"...(sniffing) I will"

Artemis:" listen, you've done so much in so short time, you took down an army by yourself to help us and to free over a million slaves, you killed a monster rex by yourself, and you've helped cure and treat people who were said to have incurable diseases, and you have connection's with many of the kingdoms king's and queen's as well, you even keep our most troublemaking member Rieka at bey which I fail to due since she thinks she's all that being a snobby brat who can't behave for even a second and is impulsive, troublesome, and so much work just to get her to do anything I say"

Rieka:" I HEARD THAT"

Artemis:" (giggling)... point is, you've done incredible thing's already before you turned 12, so I know you're going to do well, just remember everything you were taught... and don't get your head chopped off"

Atalan:"... I will, so, what will you guys do without me cooking anymore, or carrying everything and giving you all weapons and such"

that hit them hard as they gotten used to the easier convenience of Atalan's power, but they still said goodbye to the convenience of having near-infinite storage to carry their items as well as their best cook, doctor, and caretaker of the children, this hit them all hard, but Artemis stood firm as she then told him to have the best of luck, and to then go by another name, his first name was now Alcaeus, and his middle name was now Achilles, both were great hero's, and this makes him sound badass and show he's reaching adulthood, as he was going to leave, he gave a hug to everyone including Artemis who hugged him back, he hugged her longer than the other's before leaving, some were in tear's as even Artemis was crying for him leaving.

Artemis:" a child I raised myself, changed his diapers, fed him, hunted food for, taught what I know to him, disciplined him, and cared for now leaving... why does it always hurt to see them go"

Britomartis:" because you are basically his mother, and every mother hurts to see their child become adult's and leave them, and their are no exceptions to this"

Artemis:"... aw hell, I was like his mother, wasn't I... but... he left with a smile for me to see me happy"

after leaving, Artemis was going to drink, but stopped, she then poured it onto the ground and stopped drinking as she wanted to have hope for the future rather than despair from the past seeing as Alcaeus was able to move forward, so she can't be outdone by him just yet, after Alcaeus left the familia and went on his own, he would think of a place to go, and he thought of one thing before anything else, visiting the elf king again so he can check up on them and see what has changed. traveling alone, he was now lonely as he found he missed the conversation's he had with his family, and after a month has passed, he found things were different as the elves their noticed him and praised him as he was well-liked going in, and when asking the guards to enter the castle, the guard's were gracious and let him in, normally, anyone who asked to go inside the castle they would be asked to leave or be arrested if they resist, but he was able to enter and see the royal family again.

Alcaeus:" hello king Alfred, queen Hellena, it's Atalan"

Hellena:" aww, Atalan, it's good to see you again, we haven't seen you since 6 month's ago when Artemis helped us with that monster investigation, but where's the Artemis familia"

Alcaeus:"... I got old enough to be called an adult and they... said I can't stay"

Alfred:" I'm sorry to hear that, but I guess this was inevitable, I mean, Artemis only takes virgin women in her familia, so I can't say I'm all that surprised this happened"

Alcaeus:" but before leaving, she said I should go by Alcaeus Achilles from now on, Achilles is my middle name, not my last"

Hellena:" I mean it is common to give a child turning into a proper man or woman a new name to symbolize their growth, so you really did become an adult by now"

Alfred:" and as your legal guardian as far as we know unless you know you-"

he stopped when he saw as Alcaeus was about to cry and dropped the conversation, and asked if he wanted to talk about anything while he was there.

Alcaeus:" well... I wanted to visit places where my friends were to make sure they are alright and if they need anything"

the 2 then looked with concern as Aclaeus ask what happened, and then, they sit him down to talk to him about Astrid.

Alfred:" you see, our daughter since you last left has a... how do you put it"

Hellena:" she is a completely different image than an elf should be"

Alfred:" that's it"

Alcaeus:" oh come on, how bad can it be, a few quirk's aren't a bad thing, we're mortal after all"

after that, he found Astrid making out with one of the maid's, groping her and even slightly striping her as the maid begged for it to end as Astrid shushed her and kept going with it feeling good and Alcaeus was immediately taking back what he said earlier, she wasn't even slightly kissing the main either, she was literally digging into her throat with her tongue as the maid then passed out and Astrid was looking for a new target and found another young maid to make out with as she homed in on her prey.
