Chapter 49: Loose Ends

Before long, the entire building was surrounded by special forces troops who confirmed that the building was completely wired with explosives. The man on the phone told President Lee that each explosive must be disarmed at the exact same time, otherwise it would trigger all the other bombs to go off. He also told President Lee that the feat was dangerous, but doable. President Lee instructed the man to hold off. He was impressed by the people in front of him.

Ian ended his call and looked at the twins.

"Should we settle the terms then?" he said. The twins nodded their heads respectfully. Milo produced a tablet from somewhere in the room and began to type out a contract. They agreed to pretty much everything except the division of revenue. Originally the twins wanted a sixty- forty split, with the Lee Group taking the larger share, but Ian felt that the deal should be eighty - twenty since the Lee Group would need to invest heavily in each project. The twins threw out a seventy - thirty figure and insisted that they would not accept anything less. Suddenly an idea popped into Ian's head.

"I will agree to the seventy - thirty split if you can agree to an additional condition to be added to the contract," he said. Mills and Milo listened attentively before their faces fell.

Milo was about to reject the offer, but Mills seeing no light at the end of this tunnel, hastily agreed to the terms. The contract was signed, and the bombs were disabled.

----

Mills chased after her brother apologetically as he stormed out of the office. He did not ever expect for the 'great' President Lee to stoop so low. He could not forget the cheesy smile on Drax's face as they signed that terrible contract out of his mind.

When Mills caught up to her brother, she grabbed his arm and he tried to shake her off. She was still fatigued, and she fell with his push. Shocked Milo quickly picked his sister up and asked her how she could agree to such a disgusting contract. Mills looked at her brother affectionately and reminded him that he was worth the sacrifice. Milo knew that he was his sister's Achilles' heel, but she was also his. She had agreed to go on dates with Drax anytime he called her, so that she could help establish his career and he did not know how he was going to pay her back for this or if it were even possible.

As if she could read his thoughts, Mills patted her brother's shoulder and whispered.

"The contract says I have to date him, not fall in love with him. I promised you I would live a normal life if our plan succeeded. Is this not the first step toward a normal life?" she asked. When his sister put it in those terms, Milo felt a little better.

It is not that he did not want his sister to date, in fact he could not wait for her to get married and start a family, but he did not like the feeling of trading his sister for a company and it worried him that he would not be able to see her and Drax together without picturing those X rated fight scenes. Milo shuddered. The thought of his Mills being intimate was absolutely disgusting to him.

In the end, Milo explained his position to his sister. To him, that contract was akin to selling his sister for an additional ten percent of revenue. He did not like the idea of putting a price tag on her. Still, he respected her decision to go ahead with the deal because it also meant that she would stop running heists and making him worry. After thinking about it, Milo realized that the clause in the contract may not be such a bad thing. If anyone could control his sister, it was Drax. He was clearly stronger than her, and his sister needed someone like him to help reel her in. Milo smiled lovingly at his sister before cupping her shoulders and he looked in her in her eyes.

"Now that you have a boyfriend, go and find a good girl for me, Okay?" he asked. Mills' eyes flashed.

"Boyfriend? What boyfriend? Hey, get back here, I am talking to you? Milo! Hey! Don't walk away from me." Mills chased after her younger brother embarrassed by his comment. She had never had a boyfriend before. How could he call that brute back there her boyfriend? Wasn't this just a contract?

As she was chasing after her brother, she felt the presence of someone behind her. She tried to turn around, but her waist was captured. She felt the hard body press against hers and she involuntarily shivered before pushing him away. She knew who it was without looking. No one else would dare to take such liberties with her. While spinning around she threw a punch at the man behind her, but he caught her wrist with ease. As the man smiled down at her, Mills felt overwhelmed by his handsome face and she could feel her own face turning red.

Drax was really bewildered by Mills' beauty. He especially liked it when her face became rosy with embarrassment. He was really looking forward to showing her off to the men in his unit. Mills quickly withdrew her wrist from Drax's grasp and pointed an accusing finger at him before telling him off. Drax was so enamored by her that he only caught half of what she said.

Mills began to list out some basic rules that Drax should have the decency to follow and he reluctantly agreed to all of them. When she stormed off, his eyes followed her like a hawk stalking its prey. At this moment Ian strode up to the man with his hands in his pockets.

"I think your girlfriend doesn't have any experience with men," he said. Drax swallowed hard as he shook his head. He could immediately tell that was the case, and for some reason it only made him want her more. He only hoped he would be able to tame such a wild beast before she realized how beautiful she was.

Drax wanted to chase after her, but Ian caught his arm.

"What's with you?" he asked. "Haven't you ever seen a woman before? You even called me 'younger brother' for her." Drax cringed at the memory. It was true, in that moment he really wanted to show President Lee his thoughts toward this girl. He stood tall and turned to his friend saying:

"President Lee, you wouldn't understand this feeling. I barely understand it myself, but when I laid eyes on that woman, I could not take my eyes off her. Even now, all I can think about is chasing after her, even if all I can do is look at her." Ian nodded and let Drax go.

He did not tell his friend that he knew that feeling. It was the same feeling he had when he first saw Mina, and it was the same feeling he had now. It had been nearly two weeks since he was drugged, and he still thought about Mina every night. In some ways he was jealous of Drax and if the two got married, he would tell them that on this day, he already had the control for the bombs in his possession, but chose not to say anything for the sake of his friends obvious crush.

For now, Ian would keep this information to himself. He liked the twins and if he could help put Milo in power politically, the Lee family would have a reliable ally in Sani. He decided he would help the twins network in the country for a few extra days before heading back to Pan. He still had a few loose ends to tie up.
