Chapter 37: Misled
Lisa suddenly felt relaxed. She cupped her hands over her belly and hoped that this one time was enough. She had put so many holes in that thing it was as good as useless. When she thought about them being together, she did feel a little disappointed. She had a clear look at Ian's size, and it was not small, but for some reason, she could not feel him inside of her. It had been so long since the last time she had been with anyone, she should have at least felt something. She decided that it was because Ian was inexperienced. As time went on, she could teach him how to do things properly and even if she did not get all the things in between; if she got the man, she would be happy.

Ian stayed parked outside of Lisa's house for a long time. His mind felt mushy and he seriously wished feelings were less complicated. He had graduated with a double Master's in Business and finance when he was just sixteen years old, but he could not figure out if he loved one woman after ten years of friendship. He was truly pathetic at this, and as he had previously said; Women are a distraction to success. Right now, he should be focusing on his company and all the little problems that kept popping up, but instead, he was trying to figure out how to break things off with a woman, he didn't even mean to get things started with.

Back in his study Ian walked straight into his bedroom and lifted the pillow. He looked at the thing in his hand and could clearly see several holes punctured into the plastic. If he had not looked at them beforehand, he may not have known that the packaging was not supposed to feel slippery. He did not want to think that Lisa did this, but the thought kept creeping into his mind.
She had indirectly asked him to go without it and he indirectly refused, but was she trying to get pregnant by him? There was no way she would throw away her thriving career. Ian remembered something, there were new people around. It looked like he needed to meet them in the morning.
That night Ian tossed and turned in the bed. The sheets smelled like Lisa's perfume and the scent was a little too strong. He sat up and called for someone to come change the bedding, while he went to shower. When he came back, he saw that the bed was neatly made. Out of curiosity he lifted the pillow and the damaged goods had been skillfully placed back into place. He did not know why, but he picked it up and placed it under the pillow in his bedroom.
The current staff did not enter his bedroom and he wanted to use it as evidence if he needed to confront Lisa about this.
Thinking about Lisa doing this sent a chill down his spine. How long had she been misleading him?
Stressed Ian walked back to his study, which was just two rooms over from his bedroom. He switched on his laptop and clicked to open the security footage.
Ian saw that Mina had not gone to bed yet. She was sitting on the bed completely naked. She was using her pants to dry her body and Ian could not look away. When she was done, she placed her pants neatly on the small table in the room and wrapped her body in a white sheet. Ian had not realized it before, but she had been sleeping naked this whole time. She must not have been worried that he would come into her room.
Mina flipped her body, and her bare chest came into view of the camera. He quickly turned off the screen and looked down at his body. He had not gotten to finish with Lisa and now he was confronted by the perfect chest of the woman who starred in his dirtiest thoughts. Ian needed another shower.

After being brought breakfast Mina had some idea of the time. Her internal clock was always perfectly accurate, and she knew that it should be around 11pm right now. She had sweat a lot today and she felt like she needed another shower. Her stomach was aching badly, but it did not feel like typical hunger.
Mina's cycle should not be coming just yet but since she was given a contraceptive pill in the hospital, she was not sure if it would disrupt the nature of her body. She decided to take a long hot shower.
Now that she felt clean, Mina used her pants to dry her body again. At this time of night, she was not afraid of a maid coming in, so she freely did what she had to do without caution. When she was done, she wrapped the sheet loosely around her body and climbed into bed. She turned and sat up a bit to turn off the small lamp in the room. Mina quietly drifted into sleep. Her dreams had become her escape from this reality.

Luna was in her bedroom when she received a call from Dr. Bell. He had received the blood samples she gave him, and he asked her if she could get fresh samples from the same people. He knew that the samples came from a man and a woman. He said that he wanted to see how the drug's showed up in the body after a few days had passed. Dr. Bell also asked for some basic information about each person, like height, weight, and age. Luna agreed and said she would get the information in a day or two.
Luna was about to hang up the phone when Dr. Bell realized he had called her near midnight. He apologized to her and playfully added that he hoped her boyfriend would not misunderstand. Luna chuckled, as she assured him that no boyfriend would misunderstand. Dr. Bell smiled on the other end of the line. He felt a little more hopeful with each passing day.
