Chapter 278: Don’t Tell Him Anything

President Lee watched Dom grab hold of Mina, who had attempted to run out of the apartment. There was no way she believed she was going to make it out, and he knew she was trying to distract him from the question he was asking.

He watched as Dom threw Mina over his shoulder like a rag doll and walked further into the sitting room. The man plopped the flailing woman onto the couch. Mina looked up at him with her mouth slightly open, but her expression was not of hurt or pain. She looked shocked, as if she were surprised that Dom had managed to catch her.

Mina straightened herself on the couch never taking her eyes off Dom, who was glaring back at her, with the same intensity as she was glaring at him. She mouthed the word traitor to him, and Dom shrugged.

President Lee noticed that the relationship between the two had become more like relatives, but he was not sure if that was a good thing just yet.

"How did you get around? I know you didn't walk, so don't lie," President Lee said. Mina stayed silent. "Give it to me," President Lee said impatiently, and Mina looked at him confused. "Give me your phone," he repeated.

"It's not acti-" Mina's words were cut by a knock at the door.

"Who are you expecting?" President Lee asked, but Mina had no idea who it could be. She got up to get the door, but another guard stepped in her path. Mina stared daggers at the woman and president Lee cleared his throat.

Mina sat back onto the sofa, and noticed the gun in President Lee's hand, she looked around to see that every person, save for Dom had done the same.

Dom opened the door and Mina felt a chill go down her spine at the sight. She jolted to her feet.

"Hey, let's cancel your tutoring lesson for today, Okay? Go back to your dad and we can resume tomorrow," Mina lied. Her neighbor was really living up to her opinion of him.

"What lessons?" The boy asked and nearly everyone in the room looked at him in disbelief. "Oh…" The boy said. The looks he was getting hinted to him that he had made a mistake.

Mina tried to make a break for the door, not because she thought she could escape but because she wanted to buy her stupid little neighbor some time to flee, but alas the boy had spent too many hours playing video games. He swung at Dom who easily caught the boy's fist and used the momentum to pull the teen into the apartment, while shutting the door behind them.

"Sh*t," the boy cursed. He must have genuinely thought he stood a chance. Mina was so worried about the little nimrod that she did not even realize who she was being held by. "Let go of her," the boy shouted at President Lee, and Mina's eyes flashed wide. She had really messed up.

"Who are you?" President Lee asked the teen, his arms were still around Mina, who he was keeping in place. She had not stopped struggling, but she was not stronger than him.

"Don't tell him anything." Mina blurted out at the same time the teen gave his full name, Brandon Boa. Mina finally stopped struggling, apparently having given up trying to cause a distraction.

Without being asked she plopped herself on the sofa and rubbed her temples.

"How do you know this woman?" President Lee asked while pointing at Mina. The boy finally learned to lie, but it was too late. "There are cameras in this apartment. I know she has never tutored you. Try again."

"I know her from a commercial," the boy said. President Lee made a hand gesture and Dom pinched the boy's trapezius. Mina knew the boy was in pain, and she could hear it in his screams.

"Stop. Please stop." Mina fished out her phone and threw it on the floor. The device cracked but President Lee was not worried about it.

"And the cash?"

"What cas-" Mina started to say, but Dom started to pinch the boy again and Mina dug around in her shoe and pulled out $200. She threw it next to her broken phone.

"The rest?"

"That is-" Once again the boy's screams filled the room. Angry, Mina turned to face the wall and dug around her chest area. She pulled out a black stocking looking thing and tossed it beside everything else.

President Lee picked up the cloth, which was warm from Mina's skin, and opened the small zipper along its side. He looked up at Mina and the woman shrugged.

"There is more than $1000 in here. Where did you get the money?" he asked. Mina rolled her eyes.

"Shoot him," President Lee said, and Mina flinched.

"No, wait…" she said. "I earned it today, I filled in for a no-show actress. My boss paid me in cash." President Lee gestured for Dom to release the teen, who finally looked worried.

"Mina, I understand why you ran, but it is dangerous for you to do things like that. I get that the cameras, among other concerns, may have put you under a lot of stress, but Zane had them all removed, except for one at the door. I am willing to overlook this offense, for all of you, but only if you tell me how you got away." Mina listened to President Lee's calm explanation and felt pure terror. It was clear she was not the only one who was taken aback.

"Dom, shoot me," Mina said. She held up her arms and shut her eyes tightly. "Hurry up before I lose the nerve." Mina did not know what the man had up his sleeve and she did not want to find out.

"Don't shoot her!" Brandon shouted. "I will tell you how she did it." Mina looked at the boy and shook her head. He was just too dumb.

----

President Lee listened to Brandon rant about Mina and the dark web. He told them that they stopped at an internet cafe for a few hours, before continuing, but that was a lie and Mina understood what the boy was doing.

"We stayed there until we went to a bus terminal, from there I don't know what she did," Brandon said.

"As soon as you and your friends left, I hailed a taxi," Mina lied.

"She's lying. My friends and I took pictures of her getting onto the bus. We followed her to the next stop and then she hailed a taxi." Mina was pleased with the way the act was going. Brandon was not so dumb after all.

"Why did you take my picture?" Mina shouted, trying to keep up the façade of being wronged.

"We posted them to your website."

"What?" both President Lee and Mina asked. Her reaction was not an act.

Seeing that Mina was just as shocked as he was, President Lee found no need to ask her about it. He knew Mina had gone viral, but he did not know about a website.

"Show me the site," President Lee said.
