Chapter 459: Fantastic!

Mina was scared when President Cameron picked up the glass of unknown liquid. While he had been the one to order it, she did not know what it was, or how long he had left it unattended. She may not have liked the man as a political figure, but he was an okay enough person, and the thought of him being poisoned on her behalf frightened her.

Fortunately, President Lee took the glass from his cousin, and downed the contents. Mina mistook his actions as him being offended on Lisa's behalf, but in truth, he just did not want his cousin to win any more points with her. He had seen how she warmed up to the man, and he feared that Zane was right. He had even gone as far as to pull his cousin to the side, letting him know what happened between himself and Mina, but Cameron was willing to overlook it.

"I want it on the record now that I played no part in having that man drink whatever was in that glass." Zane chuckled at Mina's reaction because he too thought she was being overly dramatic.

President Cameron settled into the seat next to Mina's and earnestly tried to get to know her. He liked the fact that she was unafraid of him, and he even appreciated her opposing political views. When he found out that she had graduated at the top of her class from a prestigious university, he found himself wondering if she was a practical candidate for a wife. She was beautiful, smart, and bold, and if his family met her, they would no doubt want to pull her into the line of power.

The only problem Cameron had was his little cousin. He and Ian had never really been close, but he had never seen the man lay claim to anyone or anything. It was odd to Cameron, who was under the impression that Lisa was his cousin's girlfriend, but according to Ian, the woman was someone he could not easily shake without causing trouble.

To keep the peace within the family, Cameron agreed to give Ian three months before he would sincerely start to probe Mina and that was only out of respect for her, who he now knew had unintentionally given her body to Ian. Cameron was not a prude, and he knew relationships were more than sex, but he was also aware that women placed a huge amount of weight on that one moment in their lives, which was why he never took a girls first time.

"You alright little bro?" Mina heard Drax say. She looked up to see President Lee rubbing his own arm affectionately.

"I feel f*cking fantastic!" he replied in a giddy voice. Mina's eyes widened; she did not need anyone to tell her that something was wrong. "Somebody dance with me," Ian asked, and before anyone could stop him, he was already on the dance floor, moving to the music as if he were the only person in the room.

Mina became hysterical at the sight. She begged Mills for her phone, and she opened the camera to record the man in a moment she knew had to be his lowest. Luna stood beside her, chiding her for recording, but Mina remained tickled. She reminded Luna who it would have been on the dance floor if she had not refused the drink, and she could see the woman's eyes dart to Lisa.

While president Lee jerked his body on the dance floor, Mills egged him on by making noises that made him dance harder. She started to teach him some belly rolling moves, which he recreated too perfectly, and Mina had to cross her legs to keep her bladder from exploding. She was laughing so hard that no one wanted to stop Ian from dancing, but they knew they could not let things continue as they were.

Mina only calmed when President Lee grabbed her waist and pulled her closer to him. She was not worried, because she knew he was under the influence and was not being sexual. Mina could not help but to smile as she tried to pry the man away. He was laughing in a way that made him appear human, and she wished for his girlfriend's sake that what she was seeing was his true personality. She looked toward Lisa who was talking to Drax and not paying attention, and the woman's expression worked to quickly snap Mina back into the seriousness of the matter.

"Please dance with me," President Lee whispered into Mina's ear. She looked into the man's eyes and he pouted his lip, which made her laugh at him. "I love to see you smile," he said, making Mina flush. She hushed him and asked him to follow her, and she was surprised when he did.

----

Cameron had no choice but to leave and wait in his car. He could not take the chance that he would be spotted with his cousin who was clearly under the influence. He left Drax to question Lisa, who wore an expression of dread. She tried accusing Mina of setting her up, but Drax refused to listen, telling Lisa that if she were not Luna's friend she would have already been dragged out of the bar.

Lisa knew the man was not lying, because President Cameron had already threatened her before he left. She had always thought that Ian was a cold person, but the look his cousin gave her told her that the nation's President was worse in many ways. She looked to Luna for help, but her friend could only look down, and it was likely because she could do nothing.

----

For some reason, President Lee would only listen to her, and Mina was able to convince him to leave the dance floor. She briefly heard the way Drax was talking to Lisa, and realizing the situation was a serious one, she stepped in, telling the man that she did not believe Lisa had anything to do with what happened.

When Mina was still buzzed, pointing the finger was easy, but she knew that Lisa would not have been stupid enough to make herself the main suspect. Still, Drax insisted that Lisa be taken for questioning, while Luna tried to persuade him. President Lee was oblivious to the drama and he kept begging Mina to dance with him. She kept finding excuses to put him off, and eventually she held his hand, which worked to keep him distracted.

Mina could tell it bothered Lisa and Luna, but neither woman said a word. They knew that Ian was not in his right mind, and Luna knew that Mina was uninterested in her brother and was only doing what she felt necessary. Likewise, Ian had also been dancing with Mills, and had even tried to dance with Drax, which, to them, meant that he was non discriminant in his current state.

----

Once outside of the bar, Mina tried to appeal to President Cameron, who seemed to take her words seriously. He threatened Lisa one last time before ordering her to keep herself available for questioning. Lisa was no fool, and she knew that Mina had saved her. She turned to Luna, who offered to escort her home, which Lisa jumped at for safety reasons. She was innocent, but she knew that meant nothing until it was proven.

"Mina, you get Ian back to his mansion," Zane ordered. "We need to stay behind."

"What about Mills?" Mina asked, not entirely comfortable with what was being asked of her. President Lee was still holding her hand, but he was beginning to pull away slightly, and she knew it was because he was growing restless.

"We need Mills to help round up suspects." Mina nodded, suddenly happy that they were sending her away before the witch hunt. She didn't think she could stand to see Cylus' staff humiliated, and in a way, she blamed herself for agreeing to go out.
