Chapter 536: Melony

Mina could hear voices from over her head; they were foggy, but over time, they became clear. She at first believed she was in another dream; another memory that she had repressed and another stab to the heart, but she soon made out the sounds of hospital machinery and caught the sterile smell of her environment.

"I think she is waking up." Mina panicked, and kept her eyes shut, believing that she had killed President Lee. "Hey, can you open your eyes?" Mina peaked at the woman speaking and saw the young maid who had been killed by President Lee.

"So there is an afterlife?" Mina croaked out. "Why you? Why not Sadie?" The woman's eyes flashed to the other side of the room and Mina turned to look at Drax. "Oh no. You too?" Drax laughed loudly and Mina's brow furrowed. The woman pulled her hair off, and Mina was certain she had landed in Hades.

"You aren't dead, and neither am I." Mina chuckled in disbelief, and started to cough. Her throat was dry and sore, and her arms and legs were made immobile. Drax brought her water, and she drank until her stomach felt bloated.

"Are you telling me that President Lee didn't kill you?"

"No," the woman whispered, and Mina lost it. She struggled violently against the restraints, feeling her head throb in the process. Startled, Drax called for a nurse, who came in with a needle that Mina knew was a sedative.

"Please no, don't put me back to sleep. I'll behave, I promise." The nurse seemed to take pleasure in Mina's panic, wearing a smile as she approached as if she meant no harm. Mina's pleas were so heart wrenching that Drax eventually stopped the woman, making Mina promise not to struggle against her restraints.

"That counts as a point toward you telling me where Mills is, and this," he said, lifting his sleeve to show an ugly wound. "Counts as two points." Mina again remembered she had also been shot and she had shot President Lee.

"I didn't mean to shoot President Lee; I was trying to help him. You have to believe me," Mina shouted in fear, but she was calmed by the woman, who irritated her just by being in the room. "Don't talk to me ghost!" Ellie giggled, knowing that Mina meant for her rebuke to be an insult, but she liked the name.

"You didn't shoot Ian. We were not sure before, but we know it was you who saved him. We have been waiting for you to wake up so we can transfer you out of here." On that note, Drax left the room, wanting to get Ian. On his way, he passed by CEO Rue, and Willow. He wanted to ask them how they knew where Mina was being treated, but it was a public hospital, and the possibility of leaks were endless.

----

Mina was left alone with the spirit, who would not stop talking to her, but was kind enough to help her drink water. She was glad she was restrained, because if not, she would have killed the woman. The phantom introduced herself as Ellie; Ian's little sister, daughter of Ruby Rowe, and Mina felt her scowl turn into a smile.

"I'm telling your mother what you did to me." The ghost seemed to pale with those words and Mina laughed maniacally, only to regret it when Cylus and Willow came barging in looking at her in fear.

"I can't believe you were shot during filming." Mina made a face and realized that was probably the lie going around.

"Why are you restrained," Cylus asked, lifting the covers, and undoing the clasps himself. Mina did not mind. She was feeling sore, and she wanted to strangle Miss Ruby's daughter.

"Who are you?" Willow asked, seeing how Mina glared at the woman standing against the wall.

"She is a specter. An apparition. Pay no mind to her."

"Has she gone mad?" Cylus asked the presence in the room, prompting the woman to giggled out her response. Cylus wisely chose to leave Mina's arm restraints in place, but her next visitor was not as cautious.

"Why is she restrained?" Mills ran into the room, pulling a brown skin woman behind her. Her hair had been cut into a bob, and she looked amazing. Mina was so distracted by the women that Ellie really became an unseen visitor.

"Mills you shouldn't be here. Drax-"

"Relax, I saw the Lee girl in the lobby. Calling Drax was probably the first thing she did." As if on cue, Drax entered the room, taking a step toward Mills before focusing on her hand and stopping himself.

"Who is your friend?" Mills understood Mina's question and looked back at the woman she was with as if she was an angel. She pulled the woman into a hug that Mina knew was platonic.

"This is Melony; my girlfriend."

"The f*ck she is." Mills scoffed at Drax's outburst, whispering for Melony to ignore the man. The woman did as she was told and reached forward to shake Mina's hand. Mina could feel Drax staring at her, and she swore he was telepathically communicating; 'if you shake that woman's hand, you are dead,' so chose to lie.

"Sorry, I can't lift my arm well. I don't mean to be rude." Mina could feel Drax's mental assault lessen, and she was certain he was smiling behind her head.

"Of course," the woman said sweetly, tapping her skull. "Sometimes my brain is a little slow to catch up. Mills told me so much about you. Thank you for helping her when she needed you most. I really owe meeting this wonderful woman to you." Mills went to kiss Melony's cheek, but Drax literally jumped over Mina's bed, and pulled the women apart before her lips could touch skin. Cylus must have foreseen it, because he was at Mina's side, completely ignoring the pintsized woman that Drax had held against a wall by her collar.

Mina's eyes were glued on the situation, half of her not blaming Drax for being angry, but the other half happy for Mills who seemed happy. Mills was pounding on Drax's arms, but the man and mini woman were locked in a staring contest with one another. Cylus had placed himself in between the warring trio and Mina; just in case their spat moved near her bed. The ghost in the corner just stayed there with her arms folded, while Willow looked confused by the whole ordeal.

"Break up with her now," Drax demanded, and the little lady scoffed.

"Why would I give up on such an awesome woman? She has brought nothing but good to me; and unlike the idiot who cheated on her, I intend to marry Mills, not play games with her." Drax growled like an animal, as he pushed the woman against the wall with more strength and she grunted from the pressure.

"I never cheated on Mills; she misunderstood the situation."

"So you are the idiot?" The tiny person scoffed again. "I'm not sure how a person can misinterpret a kiss, but then again, Mills had believed she climaxed before we met." Every eye in the room went wide; including the specter, who was silently watching.

"What the f*ck did you just say?" Drax asked, slamming against the woman, who let out a loud cry of pain. She looked up at Mills, who was still trying to pull Drax away, and her expression changed.

"Mills babe, I'm sorry, but this man is going to kill me." Drax's grip loosened, and he looked at Mills, who pouted.

"Fine, but don't come crawling back to me later." The woman tried to wiggle out of Drax's grip, but he did not budge.

"Oh right." The woman tapped her head again. "Mills and I are a new couple. We haven't done anything yet; I just wanted to piss you off." Drax released the mini human, who scurried toward Mills, placing a quick kiss on her cheek before hopping out of the room like a rabbit.
