This isn't the first time the Xavier School of Music's band, Mild Savagery, had organized a Benefit Concert for the children at the orphanage. Alexander's band did charity work from time to time.
They also volunteered for fundraising animal shelters and the homeless if they had the time so that they could also contribute to society and improve their image.
Well the truth was, they were not concerned about the image and they just wanted to help. It was a wonderful feeling to help those who are in need.
The crowd thundered out front as Alexander belted out lyrics that made the fangirls dance and scream in excitement.
Halfway through the show, Garred, Marco, London, and Alexander were already shirtless and sweaty under the lights, their T-shirts were thrown into the delirious knot of fans who had paid a premium to stand right in front of the stage.
Alexander's shirt had been caught by a young woman who'd screamed and clutched it to her chest before pulling it on over her sparkly top (which brings back memories of Red who cheered for him on a tattoo contest) while London's by a guy who'd held it up like a trophy. The two fans were part of an enormous sold-out crowd.
It will always be exhilarating to hear and to be the reason of the crowd's roars, feel the beat of the music under his feet, hear the sound of his voice and the raw ferocity in it as the band slowed down to play a ballad about loss and redemption that Blake has successfully projected as he pressed the keys on his piano.
On the next few songs, Garred, Marco, and London worked their magic fingers over their guitars while Alexander took the microphone to belt out a rock anthem that had the crowd raising their arms and joining in.
Alexander was sure the tattoos on his arms and back (which Red lied that it would be gone within two weeks) shimmered under the lights, his muscles defined by the sweat that gleamed on his skin.
Alexander wished Red could see him right now and sincerely hope that she wanted to lick his body up. Wishful thinking aside, he hoped she will realize that he was doing this for her. Alexander was here because of her.
Partly.
Alexander scanned the audience and his mouth curved in a smile when she saw the familiar bright red hair and thought it was his Cat. He narrowed his eyes and stared again at the spot where the girl stood but unfortunately, it wasn't her.
Disappointed, Alexander took the microphone once more and exhaled. He started in on one of the band's biggest hits.
Where the fuck was she?
Hadn't she overhear from the female students that Mild Savagery (especially, Alexander) was here for the Benefit Concert?
Alexander was starting to lose hope.
Marco leaned in closer to Garred and London right then, the three playing their guitars off one another in a rhythm that was immediately picked up on and echoed by and Blake and Jason. It made it clear exactly how long all of them had been friends and musicians together.
God, they were good at what they do. They can be downright assholes but Alexander loved them with his soul.
He appreciated the amount of sheer skill it took to do what they did. They practiced non-stop yesterday and earlier today. The lights and the fireworks made a good show, but behind it was music, solid and pure.
Cat didn't attend the event this morning so Alexander hoped he could see her this afternoon. The six of them were goofing around this after the first event of their Benefit Concert, with Blake taking the mike, Marco on the drums, London on the keyboard, while the rest played on guitars. Even if they were all out of their comfort zones, they could still make great music.
So much talent. They would be legends someday if they stayed together through the bullshit that comes with fame.
These are rough times, booze, partying, and girls.
But at least they don't do drugs.
