When I left the house for my meeting with Melchior, my mother was not happy. I think that I need to tell them the truth, you know. They know my story, my power, I surely can trust them with this secret.
"You're late." Said the deep voice of Melchior.
"I'm sorry, my foster parents are getting suspicious about this. They wouldn't let me go, but I sneaked out." I said proudly.
"Don't be so proud. Let's begin; you need to be back before they start missing you. We need to try another method for you to listen to my thoughts instead of being angry."
"What was your method? You said you had an ability as same as mine." I was curious. How did you handle this power? Were you evil or one of the good ones?
"I tried a lot of things. Unfortunately, they all didn't work," he said sadly.
"But how did you manage your powers then?" I was curious.
"I didn't. When my powers became dark, your mother was pregnant with you and when you were born. I had no powers left." It looked like he was about to cry but didn't want anyone to see it.
"You have to find your way now. You're almost seventeen; you need to control your powers before your eighteenth birthday. But you need to go now; we cannot see each other again. If you need me, you know how you can reach me. Bye." With that said, he disappeared in the night without making a noise.

The next day, I was thinking of how I could control my powers; there has to be a way. Sadly, I couldn't think about it. We had a guest lecture during the lunch break. Someone called Mr. I know the mind, or something. I didn't listen to his name. However, he said some fascinating information about the brain. I wrote everything down; I even recorded it.
In chemistry class, I tried to get angry without anyone seeing it, to hear people's thoughts. Unfortunately, someone picked up my strange behavior and started to whispering to the girl next to her. *ugh* Why is my mind not working.
Later that day, I was sitting in my chamber when my thoughts went to the guest lecture.
"To create a peaceful mind, you must clear it out and think about the important stuff. Don't push the rest away, place them in the unsubconscious, and think about that stuff when necessary. This way, your head is not floated with stuff, and you can think clearly. Now, there are a few certain ways to gain this. One way that is most effective for almost everyone is meditating."
Because my garden is big, I went to the place near the water and sat down on the bench. I asked Jeffrey to leave me alone, and he found it no problem. I closed my eyes and tried to concentrate on the ocean. To empty my mind, I must think of nothing and focus on one noise. I chose the sound of the water; it is peaceful and not rough.
From what I can remember from biology, is that to gain more strength in thought (be smarter) and think faster (to be great at comebacks), there are certain levels of your brain. It goes by, with 20% each. But to gain that strength, you need to exercise it. Same as in the gym, gain more power in your muscles, you need to do the same exercise again and again until you can handle more. With your brain, you need to clear everything out and start by the beginning. Be dumb.
