Chapter 29: Training

Angel's POV:

After I told Jewelina I was in AA, she was shocked. I told her what I did at night and what she will have to do. She was hesitant at first but she said she'd do it. After I brought her back in the house, she said she was hungry. Mama cooked breakfast for everyone. We ate then got ready to go to AA. I rode with Trey and Tasha. I was surprised to see how tall she got when I left. She was more smarter and wiser than ever. She and Otis still had their relationship private. He wasn't going anywhere without her. He sat in the other side of her as he rode with us. He stared at her with such lust while she was on her phone playing Candy Crush. I looked down at Jewel. She stared out window, watching the trees whizz by. We pulled up to AA and got out. I grabbed Jewel's hand and led her to the doors. "Mama, is t Thai where we were last night?" She asked. I nodded.

"This is AA." I said. She gasped. "It's huge." She said. Bishop chuckled. "Thank you darling. But wait til you see the inside." He said, walking up to her. I looked around. "It looks different though." I said. "Yeah. We had a few paint jobs." Annie said. I nodded and walked inside. We walked to the elevator went up to the Arena. The doors opened and Jewel gasped. "This place is enormous." She said, running towards it. I watched her. She ran to the edge and my heart jumped. I used vampire super speed to run towards her. "Don't do that please." I said. She giggled. "Mama, it's so huge." She said. "Yes it is." I said. "Uh, Jewel?" Bishop called. He motioned us over to the surgery room. Jewel stopped. "Mama, what's this?" She asked, clutching to my leg. The nurse looked up at her and stared. It made me growl lowly. "Uh Jewel, we're gonna have you put this dress on." Annie said. Jewel stared at it then her.

"For what?" She asked. "It's something you'll need." Annie said. "It's not my color." She said. I rolled my eyes. "And why would I ever need a dress like that?" She asked. Annie bent down. "Jewel, we're going to try something with you. Now it won't hurt at all. It's just a simple surgery." She said. "That word sounds painful. " Jewel said. Her eyes began to well up. "Jewelina baby, it's alright. I've done it. It's completely safe. I'll be here the entire time." I said. She looked up at me then grabbed the dress. I went with her to put it on. She walked out behind me. "It's on." I said. "Okay Jewel. Can you step up here place? Annie asked. Jewel climbed on top of the table. Yeh nurse tried to give her some gas to knock her out but she freaked out. The building began to shake. "Jewelina, relax!!! It's not gonna hurt you. I swear to you, it won't hurt you baby. Calm down." I said.

She held my arm and cried. "Jewel it won't hurt you. I won't let anyone hurt you okay? This is just gas to help you sleep." I said. "But I'm not tired." She said. "You'll be sleep for a minute. I'm gonna be here the whole time." I said. Her green eyes pierced mine. "I'm going to be right here. I promise." I said, as I held her hand. She laid back down. "Extraordinary." Someone muttered. I got angry and the place shook. "But she's calm." Trey said. "That was me this time." I said. The nurse but the gas mask on her face and she fell asleep. Her grip on my hand tightened. The nurse put the chip in her head, stitched her back up, and he was done. She woke up after a minute. I picked her up and took her to put her clothes back on. "Mama, why did I have to do that?" She asked, as we walked out the back room. "It's to help you Jewel." Bishop said. She stared at him.

"I was talking to my Mama." She said. I growled at her and she put her head down. "Sorry Bishop." I said. "Smart mouth seems part of her nature." Annie said. "Only when she's scared." I said. We walked to the Train room and I looked around. The memories of when I was first here all rushed back to me. The day Abby threw knives at me, when Justin helped me train for my first night. "Angel?" Kacey called. "Hmm?" I asked. "Your crying love." She said. I wiped my face. "Mama, what's wrong?" Jewel asked. I picked her up. "Nothing. Just reminiscing about being here." I said. "What does that mean?" She asked. "It means I was remembering when I first came here. I was scared but I got used it." I said. "Memories are still yet be made." Justin said, as he walked up to me. We walked to the elevator to go up to Bishop's office. Just then, I smelt Abby's scent. I looked around. "Bishop where's Abby?" I asked, clutching Jewel toward me me.

"Relax Angel. She's in the basement. That's where the vents are and it leads all throughout the building." He said. I relaxed a bit. "I won't let her anywhere near y'all." Justin said. I smiled at her. I noticed he had her scent on him. He was confused as to why I looked at him strange then I told him. "She-" I cut him off. "You know what, I don't wanna know." I said. we entered the elevator but most had to take the stairs since the elevator couldn't support all of our weight. As it went up, Abby's scent was stronger. I got annoyed and I was right. She was actually in Bishop's office, tied up to a chair. Some workers surrounded her. Bishop yelled sr them in Korean. I realized a little boy stood near Abby. He didn't look like her. That's the boy who called her Mommy last night. I stared at him. The workers then grabbed Abby and led her to elevator. She glared at me as she passed.

"Tyler don't follow." Annie said. The little boy started to cry. He walked over to Justin and hugged his waist. Huh. What? Abby's son seems to like Justin. "Okay Jewel. We just wanna see some of your reflexes." Bishop said. "Except the building shaking one." Annie said, quickly. Her son wrapped her leg. "My reflexes?" Jewel asked. "Yes baby. Like, if someone where to attack you, how would you fight back?" I asked. She looked down. "I don't even know." She said, then she giggled. I kissed her. "Okay Jewel but you got to be able to defend yourself." Bishop said. "Yeah. You know what we do here. Your gonna be part of this someday." Trey said, walking over to her. She stared at him. "That's your Uncle Trey, my idiot brother." I said. "Angel." Dad warned. "Well he is." I said. "Don't worry bout your Mama. She talks a lot but won't do anything bout it." Trey said, glaring at me. "Bro-" I was cut off by Trey suddenly moving away with moving his legs.

We looked at see Jewel using her powers to move him. She stopped then it was quiet. "Wow." Bishop said. "Okay but no one please say extraordinary. I'm sick of that word today." I said. "Okay Jewelina, that was marvelous. What else can you do?" Annie said. Jewel stared at her then laid her head down on my shoulder. "Jewel we gotta see your powers love. We need to know what else you can do." I said, as I set her down. She stood by my leg. "Jewel can you do something please?" Bishop asked. "Uncle Trey, may I have $20?" She asked. "Uh no." Trey said. Jewel's eyes glowed bright green and red. "Uncle Trey, may I please have $20?" She asked again. He then mindlessly gave her $20. I smirked at him. "What just happened?" He asked, shaking his head. "That was incredible." Said a voice. The Magic Council had shown up. Jewel backed up into me. "She is able to control minds?" Terry asked. "Angel shouldn't you be able to do that?" Sally asked.

"I can, but when I'm under stress, it doesn't work for long." I said. "Okay Jewel, we need yo to work on your powers and transformations." Sally said. Jewel shook her head. "I told you why I couldn't do it." She said. "But Grey isn't here." Terry said. "But Abby is." She said. I looked at her. "Abby?" I asked. She nodded. "Abby told Grey to hurt me because I threw a rock at her." She said. "When was this?" I asked. "You don't know?" Sally asked. "No. We were separated after she learned to talk." I said. I looked at her. "When did this happen Jewel?" I asked. "Umm, a few weeks before we left?" She said. "Bishop y'all better end Abby before I do." I said. Your not killing my Mom." Said a voice. I looked down at Tyler. He glared at me. "Well maybe if your Mom wasn't such a-" Justin cut me off. "Angel!!!" He said.

"Look your Mom isn't exactly the nicest person. Lets just say that." I said. He growled at me and that made Jewel growl at him. He glared at her. "Sweetie you don't wanna take on me." She said. "Like I'm scared of you." He said. She then punched him and it sent him flying across the room. "DAAAAAAMN!!!" Trey yelled out. Tyler then got up and growled at her. She snarled at him then she transformed into a wolf and ran to him. She claws at him and he cried out. He then grabbed her and threw her into the wall. "JEWEL!!" I cried. She got up and shook herself off. She roared then lit herself on fire. She lunged for him as he did the same. Then they both froze. "Oh children these days." Terry said. "I know right. Always showing off." Sally said. They had their hands out that kept the kids frozen. Then they released. Jewel transformed back. I ran to her.

Justin ran to Tyler. "Put your hands on me again Jewel and I promise I will end you!!" Tyler yelled. "Boy get outta here with trash!!! You touch me and you will the ability to have kids!!!" Jewel yelled out. I was surprised she knew what that was. "Wow." Said a voice. We turned to see Abby standing in the doorway. "Abby?!" I cried. She smiled. "How did-" sally cut Bishop off. "We'll talking to her for awhile then she'll be back Bishop." Dominic said. "Well well well. Looks to me even our kids don't like you Angel." Abby said, walking over to Tyler. "Just make sure you keep his ass away from my daughter or he'll know what's it like to get beaten by a girl." I said. Abby growled at me then threw a power blast at me. I dodged it and threw one right back. "Enough!!!" Sally said. "Yes. This is ridiculous." Terry said.

"She started it." Abby said. "No your bust ass son did." I said. She lunged for me but got thrown back by Sally. "I said enough." She said. "If I catch your son anywhere near Jewel, it's over." I said. She rolled her eyes and grabbed Tyler. "Fuck outta her ugly bitch." She said l, as she left. So did the Magic Council. "Well damn." Keisha said, laughing. "Wow Jewel." Mike said. I looked at her. She was pissed. I grabbed her and took her into the hallway. "What the hell was that?!" I asked. "I'm sorry Mama. He just made me mad." She said. "Jewel I know how it is to lose your temper but that you gotta keep it under control baby." I said. I bent down to her level. "Baby, your Dad, cares about that boy. Tyler may not be his, but he cares about him. I don't wanna mess that up." I said. She looked behind me and I turned to see Justin standing there.

Yeah I care about him but our bond isn't that strong. He acts like her a lot. He's just quiet until you talk to him." He said. "Daddy, I'm sorry I fought him." Jewel said. He picked her up. "It's fine. That punch? My God. I thought you broke his jaw." He said, smiling. She giggled. "Uh, we're not condoning this." I said. He looked at me. "Oh yeah don't fight." He said. We walked back in to the be pushed back out the the Train room. The workers cleaned up the mess Jewel and Tyler made. "Okay Jewel, you just had transformed into a wolf. How you feel?" Keisha asked. She shrugged. "I don't know." She said. "Well we'll need to expand on that." Annie said. "Yes. Our office is not a battlefield." Bishop said. "Sorry." Jewel said. "Okay Jewel. Here's a dummy. We know you have powers and you can transform, what about fighting?" Annie asked. "Mama said no more fighting." She said. They looked at me.

"I meant for Tyler." I said. "Oh good." She said. I looked at her. "Okay Jewel. We're gonna show you a clip. And that chip we implanted in your head will help you learn and remember moves really quickly." Bishop said. She watched intently at the clip before her. When it was over, she actually tore up the dummies. She was pretty good at it. "Now Jewel. Your got your fighting and reflexes down. You just need to keep training and working on your powers and transformations. They'll help you when you become an assassin." Annie said. "Yeah about that...um, is there anyway I don't have to do this?" She asked. We looked at her. "Baby, trust me. It's better than not doing it." I said. "But killing people is just wrong. I don't have it in me to kill someone. It's wrong. Like what if they have families that are looking for them? And I die knowing I killed them?" She said.

Annie and Bishop looked at me. "She truly is just like you Angel. Jewel, think of this: someone hurting Angel. They're hurting your Mama and your the only one around who can save her. Are you gonna let her die or be a hero and save her?" Bishop asked. "Save her duh." She said. He laughed at her. "Okay so you need to practice your powers." He said. "Okay. How do that?" She asked. "Angel and them will help you." Annie said. BITCH!!' I grabbed Jewel's hand and took her outside. It was the end of the day for Jewel so I wanted her to get her transformations down. I had her transform into a wolf but she didn't know what else turn into. I told her to just visualize it. Kacey and them helped me out. All she had to do was visualize what she looked like, what color she was, and she was good to go. She ended up transforming into her beings. She was actually quick to remember what to do if she was spotted. After all that training, she was hungry again. We took her to McDonald's where she almost gave away her secret.

"Uh Jewel, we cant use our powers here." Mike said. "Why not?" She asked. "Because these are humans. If they found out magical beings live among them, it's not gonna be pretty. He said. "Yeah so we have to be careful around them. Especially water." Celia said. In the mean time, Jewel got to know everyone so she wouldn't be so shy. She has to get used to them but she was managing. She wanted to spend more time with Justin so she can experience father daughter time. He was nervous at first but I assured him it would be fun. They were gonna spend the day together tomorrow. He said he was excited and that I should have time to myself. I could use a break. But I am gonna be worried about her. He told me not to worry and that he was gonna keep a close eye on her now that Abby and Grey knew of her existence. Especially Abby. She sure did a job raising Tyler.

"Angel?" Dad called, snapping me out of my thoughts. I turned to him. "Yes sir?" I asked. He motioned me over. I walked over to the stairs so we could go to his room. "Angel, I just wanna say I'm sorry for how I reacted earlier." He said. "Dad, I'm not a baby anymore." I said. "I know. I just didn't want you growing up so fast. But ya did. And so did Tasha.8 know of her relationship with Otis." He said. "And what do you think?" I asked. "Well Otis protective over her. He really love her. She does too. I just want my daughters safe and away from boys. Y'all are growing up so fast." He said. "Dad, Stop. We're not babies anymore. We have to go out and experience life." I said. "I know. You created it. You did a good job raising her." He said.

"Thanks but it wasn't easy. I don't know how Mama did it. I had Jewelina and I'm exhausted from it. Raising her from a cell isn't easy." I said. He nodded. "I'm sorry about what you went through. Ya know, with your C-Section." He said. I smiled. "Thanks Dad." I said. He hugged me and then we went back downstairs. I saw Tasha talking to Otis. She had her leg on his. "I know damn well..." Dad started. I smiled and shook my head. It's good to be home. I grabbed Kacey pulled her to the side. "Hey." I said. "Hey. You okay?" She asked. I nodded. "Yeah I'm cool. How would you, Keisha, Mama, Alicia, all of us go out for a girls day tomorrow? I need to relax and unwind." I said. "What about Jewel?" She asked. "Justin said he was gonna have a father daughter day with her. He will be watching her carefully. I hope." I said, looking at her. She was sitting at the counter with Mike and Colin. The three of them were coloring.

"Sure. We can have a girls day." She said. We talked to Keisha for awhile and to my Mama and Alicia. They all wanted to know more about Jewel and what happened to me. Jewel fell asleep coloring to so Dad took her upstairs to my room. I looked around loved what I seen. It's so good to be home.
