Chapter 11: Her Vision

Angel's POV:

After Kevin's little outburst, I was suspicious of him. He just slammed his head on the desk and ran out the classroom. "The hell was that about?" Kacey whispered. "I don't know." I whispered. I looked over at Zane. He was smiling. Well he did justade new friends on his first day here. True. No wonder he's so happy. After some time, Kevin and them came back. Kevin grinned widely. What's he got up his sleeve? Maybe he's gonna ho home early? Maybe. But he didn't. He sat through all our classes smirking.

I walked to the library as soon as the school ended. There was no one else there. I looked out a window and seen the hooded figure again. I stared at them as they stared at me. Who are you stranger? I suddenly felt hands wrap around me. I screamed but a hand covered my mouth. "Angel relax its me." Kevin said. I turned around and punched him in the arm. "Don't do that to me. Hasn't anyone ever told you not sneak up on a black person? That's how you die." I said, trying ease my heart.

I slide down the wall. He watched me. He crouched down in front of me. "How's the heart?" He asked. "You tell me. You can hear it better than I can." I said. "Its loud, and faster, and its pumping more blood, making your scent is extremely overwhelming. Meaning I'm bout 10 seconds away to pouncing on you and sucking you dry." He said. I got scared. "Angel relax. Calm down." He said, as he touched my shoulder. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I opened them to see him staring at me.

'Better?" He asked. I nodded. He helped me up. "What were you looking at?" He asked. "That figure showed up again. They were outside staring at me, before the heart attack you gave me." I said. He rolled his eyes. "When I went out there, I tried chase after them, but Manny and them got me." He said. "Kevin why did you run? He banged your head on the desk then ran off. Why?" I asked. He stared at me. "I felt claustrophobic. I felt hot. I needed to get out. I freaked out and ran." He said. "Oh. Well you could've taken the jacket off." I said, reaching his jacket.

He let me take it off of him. I could help but look at his string arms. I bit my lip. He walked closer to me. He backed me up against the wall. I bit my lip more. He leaned down towards me. My heart raced. "Kevin, we can't. I don't want to pass out again." I said. He stopped. He cupped my cheek. "I know." He said. He pulled away abruptly. "Damn it I hate this." He said as he put his hands on his head. "Me too. But its not our fault Kev. Its just the magic law says we can't cross breed." I said. "Well it's a stupid law!!!" He yelled. "Kevin, we can't question it. Its how things are." I said, quietly.

He walked briskly over to me. "Angel you drive me wild. I can't help myself when I'm around you. Just once I want to feel you lips on mine without you burning up and passing out." He said. "I feel the same Kevin. But we can't argue with magic law. We're gonna get in trouble. And I don't want to get in trouble. I think its best if we stay friends." I said. He stared at me. Book cases shook. Them he punched the wall next to me. I flinched from him. "No Angel. I'm sorry." He cried. My eyes welled up with tears. I backed away from him.

"Angel I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to." He said, coming closer to me. I ran out the library to see everyone standing around. Kacey held me and walked us out the school. We went to the car and drove home. "Wait, aren't we supposed to help Zane move?" I asked, between sobs. "I called him. I told him we couldn't make it. He was cool with it. Besides you need to be alone." She said. I continued to cry. We pulled up and she walked me inside. Her parents asked what was wrong. Kacey explained. They left us alone after that. I didn't want Tasha to see me this way.

I crawled in bed and cried. Kacey came in with tissues and chocolates and she let me stain her shirt with tears. I cried all my tears away. After a while, I calmed down and stopped crying. I ate chocolate and watched a movie with Kacey. "Best friend? You okay?" She asked. "Yeah, I'm fine now." I said. "Angel, you know he would never hurt you. I've know him for years and he's not the type to put hands on a woman." She said. I sniffed. "I know. Its just...he scared me. That's what I'm talking about. Me saying something that's gonna set him off. I'm scared he might actually hit me one day." I said.

"Angel he's not. He would never. Please don't let a little mistake get to you." She said. "I'm not. I'm just a little spooked by him. Anyways I need to get ready for work." I said as I got up and left. I drove off and went to the library. "Angel, are you okay baby? I had a vision about the whole situation." Mrs. Graves said. "Yes ma'am I'm fine. I got it all out of my system. But I'm here now." I said, then walked to the back. I started lining carts up with books and took them to the front. I went back and forth. I looked over to see the same books from last time. The fire and kissing couple. I licked them up and stared at them.

I know Kevin would never hit me but he just scared me. I know Angel. But Kacey's right. He would never hit you. He was just upset about not being able kiss you. I know. I'm upset about it too. As much I want Kevin, I can't have him. Both literally, and physically. Its against the magic law. And I can't kiss him without heating up and fainting. "Angel!!" Mr. Graves called. I ran to him. "Yes sir?" I asked. "About this Kevin situation. You should go talk yo him. Now. My wife had another vision. You're not gonna like it. Besides you are supposed to meet with him for dinner." He said.

I shook my head. "Angel, trust me. He's in trouble. We'll take care of everything here. You go save him." He said. I nodded and ran off. I ran to his house. Oh Kevin please be okay. I ran straight to his house. I opened the door and saw his mom and sister. "Oh Angel there you are." His mom greeted me. "Hi. But I'm here to see Kevin. I want to apologize to him." I said. "He's upstairs with Daddy." Sarah said. I ran upstairs to search for him. I seen Manny and them all huddle by a door. "Manny what's wrong with Kevin?" I asked. "I don't know. Him and his dad went into the room but his dad locked the door. We heard the window open but we can't go anywhere. His dad put up a veel so we couldn't move." He said.

I ran downstairs and outside. Why would he lock the door? Kacey said they used to argue. I hope they didn't start fighting. I heard a noise and ran to it. I heard Kevin's voice but it was muffled. I also heard shuffling noises. "KEVIN!!" I called out to him. The shuffling noises stopped. I walked up to the door. The door opened and out walked a man. "Can I help you?" He asked. I looked at him. He looked like Kevin. "Hello?" He called. I got quiet. "So you just came here for no reason?" He asked. I opened my mouth but nothing came out. "Are you okay? What's your name?" He asked. Come one Angel. Say something. I'm scared and shy. Fuck that. We need to find Kevin. "I-i am l-looking for K-Kevin." I stuttered.

He stared at me. "I'm sorry is he not in the house?" he asked, coming closer to me. I backed up. "N-no sir. I looked for him. T-they said he was out here." I said. "Whose they?" He asked, coming closer. "Um, his caretakers. Manny and them. I'm here to see Kevin. I wanna talk to him." I said. He stared at me. I got nervous. "So you must be his dad. You look just like him." I said. He stayed silent. Just then a something fell. "I think you got a rat problem sir." I said. "You have no idea." Be muttered under his breath. "Why don't you go inside and have a seat? I'll be in there shortly. Then maybe we can find Kevin." He said.

This guy's up to something. Yeah no shit. "Okay. Just let me go freshen up." I said as I walked away inside. I turned around to see him go back inside the greenhouse building. I uses my mermaid powers to make myself invisible. I walked back over to the building. I uses my telekinesis to make something fall. It made a loud noise. The man came out and walked over to the noise. I went inside and locked the door. I looked around. It was beautiful. I heard a muffled scream. I ran towards it. I opened a door to a room and saw Kevin tied up with his shirt off. I gasped. "Oh my God Kevin!" I cried as I went to untie him. I took the gag out of his mouth. "Kevin what happened to you?!" I cried.

He gasped and coughed. "Angel you gotta get out of here. He's gonna come back." He said. As if on cue, the door was kicked in. I quickly untied his legs. I put my finger to my mouth to let him to be quiet. I rendered us invisible. We walked out into the greenhouse with his dad. We stood in front of him. Kevin pulled away but I grabbed him and held onto him. I pulled him on the other side of the room. His dad walked right passed us. I used my powers to create wind to open the door. We quickly ran out. "Come on let's go to Kacey's." I said. "How did you do that?" He asked. "I'm a mermaid remember. Its a camouflage response. If we're around humans in our mermaid form, we turn invisible til they leave." I said.

We got to Kacey's and ran inside. "Angel? Kevin? What happened?" Tasha asked. "Tasha its grown folk's business. Go to bed." I said. "But I'm not tired!" She whined. "Upstairs. In bed. Now." I yelled. She grumbled and ran upstairs. I led Kevin up stairs to my room. We sat down on the bed. I sighed. "So, what happened?" I asked him. He walked over to the wall and slide down the wall. He shook his head. "Kevin, this is what I was talking about. You need to open up." I said. "Angel you don't understand." He shouted.

"Maybe if you opened up more, I can probably understand." I yelled. He got up and walked over to me. "Angel, you don't get it. I no longer want you in my life. I no longer like you." He said. His words hurt me. It felt like he slapped me. He doesn't mean it. He's just hurt right now. I know. But I can't get through to him if he doesn't open up to me. "Kevin, you mean that." I said, quietly. "Yes I do. You need to leave me alone. We are complete opposites. We ate nothing alike. I lash out at people who do me wrong. You only sit there and take the abuse. I fight back. You coward in the corner." He said. Every word he said hit me like a ton of bricks. I felt a lump in my throat. I felt a tear hit my cheek.

"Kevin, you don't mean it." I said quietly. I touched him but he pulled away. "Don't touch me. I'm out of here." He said, as he walked towards the door. The bed magicly moved to block the door. The dresser moved too. "What the hell?" He said. "Its Kacey." I said. "Ugh. Kacey unblock the fucking door." He said. "Not until you open up to her. She's tryna to help you asshole." She yelled. He groaned.

"Kevin please. What is it about your situation that you won't say? Kacey's right. I'm tryna help you. You bottling this shit up in side you isn't gonna help. Its just gonna drive you to actually kill yourself." I said. He turned to me. His eyes bloodshot red. He stalked towards me. I backed up to the wall. "Angel, you need to watch your mouth right now. Your gonna say some shit that's gonna get you hurt." He said lowly.

"Fine with me. We'll just be back at square one." I said lowly. "Angel, I'm warning you." He said. "Go kill yourself then asshole." I seethed. He pushed me into the wall. Then he grabbed my face and kissed me roughly. I was surprised but I kissed him back. I heated up quickly. No no. I want this. I tried to make my body my heat up with anger. I was fueled by it. He pushed away from me. He covered his mouth. We stared at each other. "Sorry." He said. "Its okay." I said. We never broke eye contact. "Kevin please. Just talk to me. I'm not gonna judge you or make fun of you. I wanna help you. You holding this in is gonna lead you to do something your gonna regret." I said.

He walked over to me. He grabbed my hand and kissed it. "Kevin I'm not your enemy. No one is baby. I wanna help you get better but you gotta let me in. Talk to me." I said. He sighed and sat down. "Okay. I've never told anyone else this but here goes nothing." He said. Thank God Mrs. Graves had her vision.
