Chapter 6 (Goblin Portal)

We had reached the S.A.Z. and to my surprise there was a group of three J.R.O.T.C. students still in their military like uniforms with one sword each in their hands, with a dozen dead goblins around them. I recognize one of them, the best of his class, Jake. Standing at six feet tall with a muscular build, star football player that had taken us to the nationals for three years in a row.

'Yoooo John' Jake spoke with a happy look on his face with a big smile showing his teeth.

'Jesus, you guys are crazy, you three are the best of the class, right? Where are the others though? Weren't there 20 of you.' Alex

The second of the class, Zach spoke, 'They are all dead….. we were caught by surprised, and we are what's left'

"You guys received that announcement, right? We were planning on going inside this portal to close it. We would appreciate your help." John

'Yeah we were planning on it, want to take point John? You were always good at video games concerning strategy.��� Jake

When we agreed I asked if I could ask about their stats, and the one with the most was Jake with all stats being in the 10s except for his intelligence sitting at a 7, and the same skill I had concerning leadership. The seven of us were staring at the portal before coming back to our senses and slowly one by one going through the portal.

We were in a dark cave, only lit up by the torches on the wall separated by 10ft as the pathway went further and further. I was in the front and as I looked back everyone looked worried, the portal what was once colorful, and shining was black and dull. We had no way back; the only way was forward to kill everything in our path.

"I'll take point follow me" John.

As we continued walking the path, we could hear goblins giggling and swords scratching the walls. The figures started to appear in front of us, a total of 7 goblins. Five with swords and two with bows, this was going to be difficult to fight, they had the advantage in distance and equipment.

The five sword goblins began to head towards us and the two archers crouched and pulled the arrows to release. As the goblins were about to shoot, the goblins were right under our noses, Jake had easily dodged an attack and held him from the back to only turn the goblin around to get shot by two arrows. The two archers had a worried face and it quickly turned into anger, only loading another arrow into their bows.

Jake began to sprint towards the archers and dodging their arrows with ease, quickly getting behind them, and slicing their heads off. Now that the hard part was over, I quickly took care of my goblin and as for the others, they were taken care of. There were no casualties this time around. As we finished the first round, we all looked at each other with happiness and hope.

'That was easy hahahah' Jake smirked

"Yeah I guess so, lets continue" John

As we finished our first fight, I absorb the orb and put the point towards intelligence. As I looked up to the others, I thought to myself, this is just the beginning and the fun had just begun.
