"Beautifully done," Alastir was the first to speak up after seeing the spectacle the witch just created, "how is a mere mortal able to use magic?"
"I'd say one must be born with it, only those from the Lost Kingdom are able to," Celeste stared at the raven haired female with a sharp look, "am I wrong?"
"Maybe I came from there and not know it," Hilda stated with a shrug, but her hands held the spell book tighter. It's powers coursed through her, like a child being returned to its mother. She would finally receive her vengeance on all the kingdoms for going against her. She would kill them all and rid this land to nothing but the desert. She would forced them to watch as she slaughtered each of their kins, one by one. They will suffer for trapping her in that forsaken prison!
"Mistress Hilda," she turned to the young mage and fought against narrowing her eyes, "please return my book."
'This is my book!' She gripped the book tighter, but gritted her teeth as she forcefully released her fingers.
"You certainly have magic within you," his purple eyes watched her as he took the book back, "what is your family name?"
"I do not remember," she replied, "it had been a long time ago."
"A long time?" Garret spoke up, "But you look no older than my mother."
'You mother is older than me, child!' Hilda felt her eye twitched.
"That is quite a compliment, thank you Prince Garret," she plastered a smile and bowed.
"Let us go to our rooms; tomorrow will be an exciting day," Alastir spoke up standing.
"Yes," Valor grinned, "the union of both our children. I suggest we do the fountain for the spectacle and my beautiful Hilda to do it."
"I would need that spell book again, if that is alright mage," the female witch spoke quickly, itching to have that book in her hands again.
"Yes, I shall bring it," Kurt nodded as they walked through the garden.
Lynn could not help grinning behind her mask. Could their plan really go so effortlessly right? She underestimated the female witch's eagerness, but Kurt had already assumed so. Glancing at the robed man, he bid his farewell and left to his quarter when they entered the castle. They walked down corridors where the rooms were located.
"Here are your rooms," her father, Sir Christian, spoke up and opened the dark ebony door.
"Hm, very nice," Valor nodded in approval with a pompous attitude.
"Mistress-"
"She will be staying with me, knight," Valor waved off and Hilda stepped into the room.
"As you wish," Christian narrowed his eyes and looked to the princess, "Princess Arora, please take this room."
"But can't I…" Her face flushed as she looked at Garret from under her lashes, "stay with my prince?"
Garret stared at her with pity as he felt a sweat dropped down his temple from her questions. Patting her shoulders, he offered the kindest smile he can produce.
"Let us wait, you will have me for the rest of your life after our marriage," he said and she frowned before her eyes shined.
"Then a kiss goodnight," she grinned and he felt his eyes widened.
Trying his very best not to look at his knight, his lover, he glanced at his parents. They seemed to not know what to say or do, so he bent down to aim his lips on her cheek. However, the princess had other thoughts and turned to press her lips on his. Green eyes widened and he was about to pull away, but her hands grabbed onto his cheeks to hold him in place. What felt like hours was only a few seconds before her lips parted from his.
"Good night my prince," Princess Arora grinned and ran into her room.
He stood there dumbfounded for a moment before the blood on his face dropped. Turning to look at Lynn, she looked at him for a moment. What was she looking at? What a bad boyfriend he was to kiss another woman before her? Her warm brown eyes softened and she grabbed his hand in hers.
"May I escort you to your room, my prince?" She asked and he blinked for a moment, looking around.
It was just them in the long hallway, and he wondered how long he stood still. Felling the tug, he followed his knight all the way to his room in silence. Once inside, he watched as Lynn removed her mask and helmet, revealing soft lavender hair. He ran his fingers through them and watched brown eyes curve in amusement.
"Garret," she smiled, "stop being hard on yourself, there is no need to worry."
"Are you not upset?" He wiped his lips with his sleeves, "I feel disgusted."
Her laughter sounded in the room as she wrapped her arms around him, tugging him to the bed. He kissed her mirthful lips, bringing her down onto the bed. Both his lover and him moved to lay beside one another, staring into loving eyes.
"Garret," she whispered watching those green eyes stare at her, as his arms pull her in closer, "tomorrow, when we succeed," she ran her fingers down his cheek to cup it, "what would you do?"
He pressed their bodies together and breathed her in. Facing her this close, he could see the healed scars on her face, the gradient of black to brown in her eyes, and the small curl of those pretty lips.
"I will finally kiss you in front of anyone, with no fear of repercussion or interest in their thinking," He whispered against her mouth, "I will announce you as my wife, the one my heart belongs to forever."
Soft lips pressed against one another and she felt her heart full and proud.
But there was still the thought left pumping in the back of her mind, an insecurity that glared brightly at her.
She was not a princess.
He deserved a princess.
"I love you," he said and those thoughts faded away with the warmth of his mouth, his hands, and his eyes each time he looked at her.
"Forever," she whispered watching his breathing slow, as sleep took over him.
'I love you forever.'
