Ch 3: Where is my golden chance to shine? 2/2

Miss Han detecting no falsehood on his face though she couldn't be sure since she couldn't read his mind decided to hear him first after confirming that he indeed posed no threat even if he puzzled her how he resisted her mind probs.

" the easiest way to show you is this, invite Han Jung-Sook to party" immediately after that a blue box appeared in front of her:

[Han Jee-Han has sent you an invitation to join his party. Accept? Y/N]

Although no emotion could be seen on her face, she was inwardly shocked and cast countless silent spells to confirm the existence of any illusions but the results coming negative and the faint connection between the box and what she now believed to be indeed her son that she barely felt thanks to her high level of power made her relax and forget the worst case scenario.

Having regained her confidence, she pressed the Y letter without hesitation which earned her a inward nod from her son praising her self-confidence which he considers essential to reach the peak.

Unfortunately for him, he couldn't see her status nor ask about it as it is something personal and quite confidential given the nature of this world.(For those wondering why he can't see it, 2 reasons: difference in level way too large, and I have no idea what to write about it since neither the original author nor me have an idea of her role in the story😅)

Having acquired an idea of what happened to her son, a dead-pan look appeared on her face as she said "of all the abilities to have, you end up as a video game character. I knew I should've banned those things when I had the chance. Sigh.." her sigh made him have an embarrassed expression but he failed to notice the complicated emotions showing in her eyes, though to be fair he had zero experience in reading people if they don't show it.. for now at least.

"So what do you intend to do?" His mother asked casually though he knew what she meant.

"Isn't it obvious? After knowing there is a world of infinite possibilities out there, there is no reason to stay in this boring one, right?"

"You think this is a game?.. okay, wrong word.. that world is dangerous, and by dangerous I mean you could die at any moment or end up worse. Especially as you are now, as weak as an ant. They don't call it the abyss for nothing." A rare trace of seriousness could be inferred from her tone.

"You think I don't know this? The moment I realised my power, I knew that I already became a target and sooner or later I will be discovered. Preparing for the inevitable is crucial for survival and if I can have fun while at it, it is a plus in my book." She wanted to say something but he added after that " besides, you already belong to this abyss as you call it so I will be targeted regardless of what I do." As he finished, she only had one thought 'he really is our son'...

After having finished washing the dishes and getting a notification that he can't earn xp when in a party with a large gap of abilities, he sits down with her at the table to discuss what he plans to do " I have a plan." " really Sherlock? I had no idea!" Ignoring her sarcastic comments, he proceedes to explain but she cuts halfway through and stands up as she says her piece "Just ask your best friend what's his name and he'll offer you a place there". As she walks out of the room almost lazily "I need some rest, what a day.." "he has a name you know!.. wait he's also part of the abyss?! Am I the only one out of the loop? Hey!... and she's gone.. that cheater! Always winning gold medals left and right with that modest smile on his face! If you're down to earth, then don't go to those competitions at all! 😤". On the other hand, his plan A became mostly redundant...😭
