The test (5)

He could finally breathe, he laid down on his stomach and breathed in the fresh air. He felt a lot better now he second he left that area. But he was in a completely different, area now. In front of him was a deep dark cave and nothing else.

He looked around him, there were plain fields stretching onto the horizon. The path to the green circle was clear, he had to go into the cave. When he took his first step, a large roar reverberated across the cave which made him fall on his back. Every hair on his body stood up.

He moved through the cave, the tunnel quickly expanded into a large room, there was drool dripping onto the floor in front of him, he walked into the room. Above him was a giant spider, luckily it seemed to be sleeping, on closer inspection to the drool he noticed that it was green. And when it hit the ground it burnt a hole.

The spider had multiple eyes, all across its hair was dirty but straight and long. Each leg expanded long on the roof.

Noah snooks over the cave and made his way towards the continuation avoiding the drool whilst he was at it. All he had to do was make his way towards the continuation, at the ending he heard a large shriek. The spider had woken up. He ran towards the tunnel whilst he heard movement above him.

He made it out of the room and he didn't look back, he kept running through the pitch-black tunnel until he was certain the spider no longer was there. It was actually deep dark. But then he started hearing noises, insect noised. All around the wall, there were small sounds, and every step he took was followed by a large "crunch.

He quickly realised that the walls were completely filled with filthy tiny cockroaches and other insects. He felt something crawling up his leg, he screamed from the sheer thought of it and ran towards the next room.

That room was lit but it was a lot worse, all over the walls, floors and roof there were thousands of maggots.

Every inch of the room was filled with maggots, and he realised that he would have to walk over them to treat the end. He took a step and his feet sunk in three diameters, he felt the urge to puke, he kept marching forward, the feeling of movement around his legs was especially disgusting.

The continuation began shrinking until he had to crouch, and then he had to crawl. He crawled through the cave making his way towards the end. All he saw was black, his entire body felt cramped in. Then the cave gradually began to become bigger.

He saw the green circle in front of him. But slightly in front of it, he saw static red eyes. He draws out his swords and begun moving slowly towards the green circle. The red eyes stayed unmoving, and he was glad.

The second he stepped on the green circle the creature leapt at him, he was already gone.

He found himself in a giant room. A giant room filled with ice giants. They were all staring at him standing in a circle, in front of him was an ice throne. Being in the centre of everyone's vision felt extremely uncomfortable for Noah but not scary, he strangely wobbled his way towards the green circle.

He transported himself into a never-ending ocean. He was on a wooden boat, in front of him was a small island and he saw that there was a green circle on it. Just that moment a giant whale leapt out of the water a few hundred meters away from him making a giant splash as it fell down.

The force rippled through the water creating waves which slightly shook his wooden boat.

He began paddling towards the island, then he saw shark fins appear in the water. He didn't know what sharks were, he had been on the capital all his life and there were no sharks in there, but they looked suspicious. But when the sharks began biting the boat he paddled ten times quicker. He did not want to be stuck in the water with that creature.

He reached the island and ran towards the green circle.

'You have completed the test of courage, rest before you begin the next test'.

He was in the white room, there was a stone wall with a hand-printed onto it. In front of him was the best food he had ever seen in his life. A roasted turkey, steak, rice of every colour, and everything. The table with food continued for multiple meters. He wanted to dig in but he passed out, his mind had been under incredible strain and he couldn't handle it any further.

Author here, that was incredibly difficult to write for me, I winced at the maggot scene.

Anyhow writing so far has been really fun, I think I will be trying to write 2+ chapters each day. For now, there hasn't really been a larger plot happening which kinda irks me. The idea is to write multiple shorter stories, in other words, quests. But I want an end goal, something to work for.

I have a few ideas but if you have any suggestions feel free to leave them in the comments. Thank you for reading.
