The test (4)

Test of courage

He woke up in a dried pool of blood, it was his own blood. He had completed the challenge and then blacked out from exhaustion. When he woke up he felt really energetic, as if, energy had been shoved into him. He stood up and strode towards the door, like before it had a hand imprinted into it. He walked over to it and put his hand.

He found himself in a completely new room, all around him it was milk-white. He looked around, there was only one thing that stood out, a small green circle about twenty feet away. With nothing else to do, he walked over to it and stood on it. He felt the word twist around him.

Around him was the same white room. There was a green circle like before, only a lot further away. Noah slowly walked over to it, he took his time. No need to rush. Once he stood on it he the world was once again twisted.

He found himself standing in the middle of a stone platform, the cold and brisk wind pushed against his body, it slightly tickled his face. In front of him a stone bridge existed, it was about ten meters tall, it leads to another stone platform where. The green circle was on that tower.

The stone platform was atop a long stone tower, his eyes followed the tower to the bottom but it seemingly never ended. He peeked over the bridge and he instantly realised that he was high up in the air.

Only when he noticed that the lakes looked like puddles, the trees like small green dots, and when he saw that the small clouds were beneath him did he realise the scale of it all. That moment the bridge looked smaller, and a lot more unstable. His vision zoomed out and it looked like a stone plank he had to walk over.

However he had to walk across it, he'd starve to death if he waited. Every step he took towards the bridge felt wobbly, every movement felt calculated. Constantly his mind played the image of him falling down. Breathing became hard due to the speed, he felt balance less, the ground got closer and closer.

His entire body was shaking and he felt unable to continue. He got down on four and begun crawling. That moment the length of the bridge expanded to an unreachable length. In the process of standing up, the one kilometre long bridge shortened again.

His steps felt heavy when he took them, and heavier when he lifted them, the process haunted him. His mind boggled down onto the bridge, he had never been so focused on his walking before.

When he had crossed the middle, he heard a large crack and he let out a shriek. After that each step made a crack, he really wanted to turn around and walk back. The pressure on his mind was insane.

When he was about to finish the walk, the wind pressure pushed a lot more. He lost his balance and begun falling to the left, he regained his balance by lifting his leg to the right instinctually.

He overshot the attempt to rebalance himself, he had put too much force into it due to the pressure. He fell to the right and he rebalanced himself towards the left, he was now falling towards the left.

He wobbled across the bridge, he tripped, but he had already finished the bridge than. He stood up and walked to the green circle, reality was twisted once again.

He found himself in the middle of a sand plain, about one hundred meters away there was an army charging towards him. It was filled with shouting barbarians, war elephants, and a whole lot of angry eyes.

It was like standing in front of your class giving a presentation, except that they hated you and wanted to kill you.

The green circle was found in the middle of them, his natural urge told him to run the opposite way. He gulped it down and took a step towards them, it grew into a run. Every second he had to swallow the command to run away.

He reached the green circle when the spears of the army where right at his eye, reality once again twisted and he found himself somewhere else

He was transported into another sector. In Front of him stood a figure which sat on a golden chair. It was a boy with white hair and golden eyes. He had an insanely strong aura radiating of him which made Noah fall to his knees.

He found himself in a large throne room, the throne was made out of gold and on top of it sat a figure. He had white hair and golden eyes, he sat without any shirt, he was completely ripped. There was a horrible murderous aura radiating off him.

The type of feeling you get when you meet someone with a bright smile, they seem completely normal but something feels revolting about them, something feels horribly terrifying. That feeling was only a small fraction of what Noah felt.

The green circle was about two meters away from him. Noah's urges were telling him to run away from the entity, no, his soul was telling him to run away. But he had to keep moving, he felt his entire body shiver from fright. The creature sat up straight and looked at him, he saw Noah inch his way towards the green circle and smiled.

The feeling exponentially got worse each inch Noah approached the figure. His eyes twisted backwards, his eyes would not dare face the creature in front of him. His face hugged the floor, not daring to show any defiance to the creature. Eventually, he could not breathe.

He reached the green circle, and he was transported away.
